“EMR Review
Pros
Within my Healthcare Organization spanning multiple facilities the ability to view patients medication lists system-wide streamlines operations particularly in billing and outpatient departments.
Cons
The Remote Client feature could benefit from an update in our opinion.

“Life Saver
Pros
Initially intimidated by Epics complexity I quickly adapted and found it superior to my previous software. Its efficiency and features surpassed my expectations.
Cons
I have absolutely no complaints Epic is fantastic user-friendly with minimal training and offers up-to-date features.

“Good avatar feature but excessive sign-ins
Pros
the Avatar feature is awesome as it lets me chart wounds and lines on a patient.
Cons
Honestly, it feels like the system makes me sign in around fifty times before I can reach the hyperspace area. I also struggle to locate patients after they've been discharged from the chart. There's no way for me to chart an hour ahead which is frustrating. Occasionally I scan a patient and medications but later it looks like nothing was scanned. It takes what feels like fifty steps just to reschedule a medication dose.

“Role-based user-friendly setup
Pros
What I like most about Epic is how user?friendly it is, thanks to its role?based setup. When a nurse signs in, she only sees the tasks and tools for her role which aligns documentation and keeps the workflow organized.
Cons
I find one drawback of Epic is that when I use it at multiple facilities my custom notes orders and settings don't carry over between organizations. That means I end up spending a lot of time manually recreating my preferences and templates at every site I work which is inefficient and frustrating.

“saves time with a centralized dashboard
Pros
Having everything accessible in a single dashboard for my client makes things so much easier. I also get live updates from providers as they post them. Everything I need is stored in a neat organized location.
Cons
We use Epic in a behavioral health setting, yet the platform seems primarily designed for standard medical practices rather than our specialty. Consequently, we're frequently ironing out workflow issues and have to collaborate closely with Epic's configuration writers to submit and refine custom adjustments whenever they arise or when our team identifies new requirements.

“user friendly for new users
Pros
As someone new to this role, I have found the interface really user-friendly and easy to use, it didn't take me long to get the hang of it and now I rely on it often for running reports and billing, plus reviewing charts.
Cons
At this point I don't have any major complaints, though I do experience frequent timeouts.

“Really easy with logical information flow
Pros
I find the system really easy to use and the information flows logically across every part of a patient's record and every physician involved in the documentation and record-keeping.
Cons
sometimes I want to look up details tied to a specific profile but cannot unless I have the proper historical access which is a little annoying though not a major issue.

“lets me view multiple sections but complex tabs
Pros
I appreciate being able to view multiple sections of a patient's chart on a single screen
Cons
Too many different tabs in it make it feel complex at times to locate the exact patient record I am searching for.

“Runs incredibly quickly and dependably
Pros
Epic runs incredibly quickly, is dependable and remains simple to navigate. Everything feels very user friendly. Plus the in-basket helps make tasks more visible to everyone in my pool. I especially enjoy the intake section.
Cons
Occasionally Epic will unexpectedly go offline for a few hours. I have also run into tasks that exist in several places which makes it hard for me to know exactly where to look. I find sending messages to providers and seeing their replies can be frustratingly difficult.

“Packed with features and easy
Pros
I have discovered it comes packed with features and after I get the hang of it, I find it really easy to use.
Cons
For me, there's a learning curve that takes time to overcome. I don't always manage to accomplish tasks quickly and often have to search around to locate certain features.

“Copy forward feature saves time
Pros
Using the copy-forward feature for notes, plus pre-charting upcoming notes, really saves me a lot of time over the course of a week.

“user friendly layout for schedules
Pros
I really like the user friendly layout and all the configuration choices as it makes setting up and checking the OR schedule simple. What I find especially helpful is the color coding that reflects each patient's status and the screen is packed with specifics like whether someone is pre-op, in surgery or in recovery. I also rely on the handy search feature to quickly find keywords inside a chart.
Cons
Sometimes the sheer amount of menus, tabs and customization choices can be overwhelming to navigate. I found it much easier when an EPIC trainer walked me through the setup tailored to my workflow before I started using it regularly. After a learning curve it becomes familiar and I can move through it quite rapidly.

“Really impressed with ease of use
Pros
im really impressed with EPIC's user interface and overall ease of use. Everything I need is available on a single screen with Epic and whatever I am trying to locate can be quickly found using the search function.
Cons
Honestly, there isn't much I dislike. Occasional issues such as 'Epic downtime' can be annoying but I understand every piece of software requires updates and maintenance.

“Lets me tailor patient chart views
Pros
I love that Epic lets me tailor how I view a patient's chart, history, snapshot and so on. From one platform I can pull medical, mental health and financial details which is really convenient. Working as a nurse or physician, I can read notes entered by any team member and that shared visibility makes coordinating a patient's care much easier. There's also the ability to configure document formats to match what our billing team prefers which I set up to cut down on repetitive retyping. Overall, those customization options save me time and align workflows.
Cons
Learning and navigating it was a real challenge for me at the beginning. The system isn't user friendly and I couldn't figure it out without quite a bit of instruction and hands-on training. In my experience, having IT support ready to troubleshoot and help set up new users is basically essential. Be sure you go in knowing exactly what you want from the system like what formats you need and how you want templates arranged. I had to be explicit with Epic about the formats I wanted, how the templates should look and then decide whether to use the same templates for everyone in the same role, otherwise the setup becomes messy and takes longer.

“love pulling up past visits and future plans
Pros
One thing I really like is that I can pull up patient details from previous visits and also review planned ideas for how we'll handle their care moving forward. Being able to do all my charting in a single place with the quick tabs saves me time and keeps things consistent. I can even customize my daily screen layout so it opens exactly how I prefer which helps align my work.
Cons
I wish I could remove certain features I never use because they clutter the interface and take up screen space. They feel unnecessary for my daily routine, though it's somewhat comforting to know those options exist if needed later.
