“Set up a full health overview easily

Pros

Honestly, I can set up my radar altimeter, history and screenshots in Epic. During a single session, I can view all the health, cognitive and financial details. Using it feels like being in the shoes of a clinician, whether a doctor, therapist or other support staff. It can really push a patient toward taking charge of their treatment. For my accounting team, I am able to configure models exactly as needed. It saves time.

Cons

I am annoyed that I can only have four health items visible at once on the screen. I'd prefer instructors to prompt me to open more windows on the workstation. Personally, I think allowing at least five and ideally six, would work much better. It becomes irritating when we're made to remove them after a tiny tab appears once four patient charts are chosen. Also, creating and deleting posts takes time and within the Epic system I'd really like to see that process speeded up.

I really like the program's layout because locating patient records by name or account number is pretty easy and I find the navigation to be very user friendly and simple to use as well.

It is easy to jump between the different parts of a patient's chart.

It's hard for me to give a definitive response, though I think the system is very easy to use and receives upgrades every quarter.

It is a commonly used software so it is easy to work with. It is also easy to search up for patients information.

Cons

It can be annoying at times as the IT team takes a long time to help and the team also makes things more complicated sometimes instead of resolving the issue.

With appropriate training Epic becomes an invaluable investigative tool for patient histories.

Despite its complexity Epic allows customization based on individual workload and access needs albeit requiring thorough training.

Moving between sections is seamless in Epic which is widely adopted across hospitals.

While user-friendly the training duration seems lengthy. Dual screens and mouse functionality can be challenging.

All the data is organised and I can easily look for my medical record. Apart from this, I can also book appointments easily.

The provider doesnt allow me to text those doctors whom I havent seen in a long time. This is a little irritating but other than that it is an amazing software.

“Really impressed with user friendly feel

I am really impressed with how user friendly Epic feels! It resembles a paper directory and on each page I like most of the header options. It's especially handy when I need to look up biopsy results. I also like that Epic plays nicely on both Mac and PC. Because so many people started working from the office, I noticed how easy it is to use even from home which makes it convenient for everyday use.

Cons

A downside for me is that the interface only lets me open four patient charts at the same time even though there's room on the screen for more. Personally, I would expect at least five and six would be ideal. It becomes annoying because I have to close four patient tabs before I can open a small chart. In addition, navigating sections within the Epic application can feel slow at times and I wish those screens would load a little faster.

“excellent for building a digital care roadmap

Pros

From my experience, it makes it easy to build a digital roadmap for patient care, capture histories and grab screenshots when I need them. I can pull medical, psychological and financial information all from a single chart which keeps everything in one place. I also appreciate being able to see the observations and conclusions of anyone involved in care whether it's a clinician, therapist or another provider. It can even motivate patients to take a more active part in coordinating their own care. On top of that, I have the option to create templates for billing or accounting tasks for my practice which is really useful. Overall, modifying instructions or templates tends to take less time than it used to, so routine updates feel more efficient.

Cons

I really don't like that I am limited to viewing only four pieces of health information at a time and I wish administrators would unlock more functionality especially camera access. In my opinion, the system should allow at least five and ideally six, simultaneous items or tabs. Another irritation is that the platform forces me to remove four patient sheets before I can open an additional tab once I already have ones open. Creating and closing pages within Epic feels slow and clunky to me and I'd love for those actions to happen much faster.

Within this software I can communicate with my doctors access my data review past visits make appointments and manage prescriptions all neatly organized for me.

The program is well-designed but its frustrating that I cant message doctors I havent seen in over two years.

Integration is so simple and easy. Fixing erroneous orders is easy. Epic has also helped in improving internal communication.

Since we are not utilizing this software to its fullest, we cant really say anything negative about Epic but it takes a little time to understand it.
