“It is not for me
Pros
I like having access to other EMRs through Epic and the automatic capitalization feature for sentence beginnings.
Cons
I have some minor and major grievances regarding EpicCare. Minorly certain .HM phrases pull in the wrong date while majorly my user account was inexplicably disabled during a crucial moment disrupting my workflow significantly.

“Distinct screens but limiting workflow
Pros
I like that every job title gets a distinct screen tailored only to the tasks they need to perform.
Cons
It is frustrating because it forces you to follow a complex step by step workflow that can feel limiting.

“User friendly interface feels effortless
Pros
What I like is how user friendly the interface feels. Having come from Cerner, making the leap to Epic felt relatively effortless for me. Another plus is that I can tailor the viewer and interface so it highlights the tools and information I rely on most.
Cons
It frustrates me that on occasion the system blocks progress until you acknowledge the 'hardstops' which is especially annoying when I am trying to move quickly.

“Epic and Epic Rover Review
Pros
The mobility of the app is commendable but I hope to see improvements and expansions especially regarding home health care.
Cons
Navigating Epic on the office computer can be daunting due to the multitude of pages to search through.

“Impressive range of excellent features
Pros
There's an impressive range of features covering every service we provide and the medical billing functionality in particular is excellent. I was able to tailor the system to fit my facility's workflow and whenever I needed assistance the customer support team was fantastic. I genuinely loved EPIC as it is a solid 10 out of 10 and now that I have moved to a job using Carepaths, I find myself really missing EPIC.
Cons
Learning EPIC has been challenging for me because it offers so many features and multiple ways to complete tasks which can be overwhelming. On top of that, frequent updates often rearrange workflows and settings, so I repeatedly have to spend time relearning parts of the system until I feel comfortable again.

“Worst ever for front desk scheduling
Pros
The ability to prioritize the schedule by time or patient name is the sole feature I appreciate about Epic.
Cons
It seems imperative that the developers of EpicCare experience its usage firsthand to understand its shortcomings. The constant changes and introduction of features like bookit complicate tasks leading to errors and inefficiencies.

“Simple view of all patient details
Pros
Using EPIC made it simple for the hospital and medical teams to view all the details about a patient and their care. Whenever I needed billing or financial details, I never had to hunt around. Also accessing patient records was fairly simple and quick.
Cons
At times the system had so many nested subcategories that finding something specific, like a patient's medication list, involved an excessive amount of clicking. We often had to drill down through multiple menus before finally reaching the exact category we needed.

“Easy client lookup with reminder memos
Pros
We can look up a client's record using their first and last name, mailing address or phone number which makes finding client details really easy. I also like the reminder memo feature since it helps keep track of tasks and supports our daily workflow.
Cons
I cannot search for clients by their location address and that limitation frustrates me because it would be helpful to locate records more flexibly when addresses are the only details I have.

“EPIC charting in the hospital
Pros
This program is straightforward to navigate and reliable for nurse charting with easily accessible documentation.
Cons
The plethora of charting options coupled with extensive answer choices makes the process cumbersome. Simplifying options to the most common ones with a comment area for unique responses could enhance usability.

“Suboptimal at best
Pros
Epics widespread usage across health systems facilitates cross-communication although its modular nature limits some interoperability.
Cons
EpicCare primarily designed for billing purposes falls short in catering to patient care needs. Its interface reminiscent of outdated software lacks user-friendliness and hides essential options under layers of tabs.

“Really enjoy the automation of features
Pros
I enjoy the variety of features and being able to automate and pre-fill things when documenting encounters.
Cons

“Smart phrases for faster documentation
Pros
I really like the smart phrases and the customization as they make documenting so much faster and virtually effortless.
Cons
From my experience, the database search is clunky and the overall layout feels illogical and hard to navigate. Plus I'd suggest pairing a clinician with an engineer to redesign it for smoother, more user friendly workflows.

“Go-To EMR for our clinics chain
Pros
Subscribing to EpicCare in late 2021 was the best choice we made for our IL chain of clinics, which all work on a centralized EHR system. No service lags or missing features. Complex patient charting and billing are a breeze!
Cons
A bit expensive but totally worth it (we got a good deal recommendation through Software Finder’s reps).
