“User friendly, pediatric sensitive, promotes efficiency in documentation”
Pros
As a pediatric PT for 37 years, I've never used a system so tailored to pediatric documentation, nor one so easy to learn and use. The system allows for efficient documentation, and the reports are comprehensive without being redundant. I love using FUSION.
Cons
I have very few complaints. It would be nice to have a feature that tracks the number of visits within a given timeframe.

Pros
I value the dropdown arrows for SOAP notes and assessments, which make my documentation more efficient. I often utilize the mastery setting in goal writing, allowing me to monitor my data and track when goals are achieved.
Cons
My least favorite aspect is the template for feeding therapy. It's not as efficient for me since I don't see many infants. I'd prefer something more general or segmented by age groups.

“Does Most Things Great But Support Lacking and Company Inflexible”
Pros
Fusion has developed a stable and effective product. The app loads quickly in the browser, making navigation efficient. Most features are ideal for an SLP/OT/PT therapy clinic with clients of any age, even though it's marketed as pediatric-focused. The best part is the ease and speed of completing SOAP notes and submitting claims to insurance.
Cons
It's challenging to develop software that meets diverse user needs. After two years with Fusion, I've noticed a decline in customer service. Fusion used to be more accommodating and service-oriented. Our clinic doesn't expect custom features, but even small changes that would benefit us and other clinics are often refused. Support has also declined; a few months ago, the clearinghouse they use messed up many claims, and Fusion handled it poorly. Their support manager sent multiple long emails with confusing instructions, forcing us to call them. It was a disaster, even though we had only a few affected claims. I feel Fusion has become overconfident and lacks quality staff. They believe their support is excellent, but when we say otherwise, they respond with disbelief. I like the software overall, but it's becoming harder to work with as my clinic grows.

It's useful to have all treatment notes and goals in one place. Notes can be completed quickly once you're familiar with the layout.
Cons
The software could be more intuitive. Some parts are repetitive and redundant, making documentation more tedious than necessary. The visual layout is cluttered in some areas, and there's either too much or too little space for typing notes.

Pros
I find this EMR system very intuitive. The customer service team is almost always quick to respond and helps walk you through any questions. Billing is easy to manage, and keeping track of denied claims is simple.
Cons
I've encountered a few glitches that haven't been fixed yet. In the billing section, payer information for claims with primary and secondary payers doesn't auto-populate, despite an option for it. For over a year, I've been told this feature isn't usable. In the reporting section, you have to click outside the apply box to actually apply changes. My therapists also frequently complain that they can't delete documents started accidentally because the appointment was checked in. They have to delete appointments and reschedule them just to remove an accidental document or note.

This software is comprehensive, allowing me to manage multiple offices from one location. Patient data is secure yet accessible, and it's designed for multiple disciplines. The billing and administrative sections are particularly beneficial for tracking claims and generating informative reports, saving hours of manual work.
Cons
My least favorite part is not being able to mark a patient as tardy or calculate attendance by date range. It would be more helpful to mark appointments as "Canceled by clinic," "Canceled by parent," or "Tardy" and then calculate these categories. We need to report these percentages to various insurances.

Pros
As a mom who started a nonprofit for children with special health care needs without a medical background, we needed an EMR software that's easy to use, self-explanatory, and cost-effective. Fusion fits our needs for both staff and therapists, offering scheduling, record maintenance, and billing from one source at a low monthly fee. We initially used a billing company, but when reimbursements were delayed, we switched to processing claims in-house. It was challenging, but the Fusion customer service staff provided excellent support, helping us feel confident in the transition. We're saving thousands of dollars and can track our reimbursements in real time. Thank you, Fusion Team.
Cons
There's not much we don't like! The therapists wish they could customize the SOAP Note more but appreciate its thoroughness.

What we love most: fantastic customer service, responsiveness to user feedback resulting in improvements, therapy staff's appreciation for documentation efficiency, easy management of claims by the billing team, and the ability for management to pull specific reports for directing goals.

I'll be recommending Fusion to every clinician I know. Our experience has been outstanding. Transitioning from a small, private-pay clinic with paper charts to electronic documentation, scheduling, and insurance billing was smooth and swift. Customer service is not only accessible but also incredibly fast! The tutorial videos are excellent, and the program itself is very user-friendly, even for someone like me who resisted moving away from a paper schedule book.
