Worst Customer Service

Pros

The onboarding process was excellent and the initial customer service responsiveness was notable. The integration with our existing processes went quite smoothly.

Cons

Following onboarding we faced weeks of unresponsive customer service leaving us without answers for an extended period. While it's relatively straightforward to schedule client appointments on the calendar scheduling meetings or timeoff events involves a cumbersome process requiring seven clicks. Notably the only oneclick scheduling option on the calendar is for patient appointments and there's no waiting list to manage canceled appointments.

Not a good fit for mental health practice

Pros

I initially appreciated the seamless process of creating and submitting claims from Kareo Clinical to Kareo Billing where I could review approve and submit claims for payment. This functionality worked well for the first few months but eventually stopped without my knowledge. The program effectively sends reminders to clients about scheduled appointments.

Cons

The program inexplicably ceased sending claims to Kareo Billing for several months without notifying me. Despite multiple futile attempts to seek assistance through Customer Service nearly 600 claims suddenly appeared in Kareo Billing in a single day in May encompassing all claims for services rendered since early February. This resulted in unpaid services provided in January February and March under various insurance plans.

Pros

Initially, it was userfriendly for charting and patient data entry.

Cons

After a merger, the quality of service declined significantly. The transition made various tasks, such as dealing with insurance and eprescribing, complicated. Additionally, seeking help incurred substantial fees, with no assistance provided. Cancelling the service proved to be costly due to contract terms.

Pros

It was userfriendly for charting and inputting patient information into the computer.

Cons

Following their merger with another company the setup process became convoluted complicating insurance eprescribing and lab setup. They demanded 200 per hour for oneonone assistance which proved unhelpful and led to a substantial waste of time and money.

Pros

Kareo has been in use since2013, and it generally offers ease of use and straightforward formats. Staff members found it easy to learn, and it has improved daytoday workflow.

Cons

One limitation is the inability to simultaneously view office notes and encounter forms.

Pros

While it's a good product there are notable issues primarily the lack of support which is a major concern. Despite sending multiple emails after signing the contract it feels like you're forgotten. This level of service is absolutely unacceptable.

Inefficient Billing System

Pros

Regrettably, I could not find any significant positives about this software. The bolt-on desktop interface, while available, adds extra steps for administrative tasks and makes it challenging to streamline operations.

Cons

This softwares billing functionality is far from intuitive, causing confusion and inefficiencies in our medical practice. The desktop application duplicates the workflow, leading to unnecessary complications and redundant efforts.

Needs Improvement

Pros

The system has a clean interface, and it allows me to sort and organize key information, which is helpful for my mental health care practice.

Cons

Unfortunately, there are several drawbacks to using this software. Firstly, there is no direct access to the clearing house, and any issues that arise require a support call, which can be time-consuming. Additionally, I have encountered random corruptions in the system, and its not easy to research the reasons behind claim failures or non-payments.

Underwhelming and I'm switching EHRs despite the headache

Pros

While the SOAP note format is intuitive the process of generating charges and applying them in a separate interface is cumbersome. This creates duplicated administrative workflows instead of streamlining them.

Cons

The updated SOAP note interface can be challenging as it may jump sections down the page and result in difficulty finding one's place in the note. Additionally issues may arise with text spilling outside text boxes and accidentally deleted sections cannot be recovered requiring marking the entire note as an error and starting over.

Pros

I have no positive comments to offer. Dealing with this group has been a negative experience. They seem to take pride in ensnaring new business owners with their service.

Cons

Salespeople can be deceptive advertising services for med spas that are not suitable for such facilities. After expressing concerns during the demo I received a threatening call three months later ultimately being sent to collections. This serves as a warning to med spas beware of their poor customer service.

Bad Customer Service

Pros

The application and its features are excellent. Overall it's userfriendly and easy to pick up. Its ease of use is comparable to Athena or Epic and I've received positive feedback from patients using the portal.

Cons

Insurance and account setup was poorly executed and timeconsuming. Communication with support teams is either exceedingly slow or nonexistent. The billing software isn't integrated and requires separate processing. While usable the software is outdated and cumbersome. Although I like the product I'm having second thoughts.

Very unethical company

Pros

In my experience this company appears to be misleading. The information they provide about the company seems to be deceptive.

Cons

There is a lack of staff assistance during the setup process. Each question requires an hourlong phone call and there is only one hour of support every two weeks. Missing these appointments leads to further delays.

Ok in the Beginning, But Disappointed

Pros

The software is user-friendly, and they provide good initial support and training. The pricing is reasonable, especially for small practices like mine.

Cons

I was highly disappointed with Kareo after the initial "90-day onboarding" period. As soon as that period ended, right before I opened my practice, their support disappeared. While they were initially helpful and willing to set up meetings to assist with any issues, I found that the real challenges arose once I went live. I faced difficulties in prescribing DME, therapy scripts, imaging scripts, etc. When I reached out to my implementation coordinator requesting a brief meeting to address my questions, I received a response stating that they couldnt accommodate meetings after the 90-day period due to being "too busy." This response was quite frustrating. My suggestion is that if you choose Kareo, make sure you thoroughly understand the software before the 90-day period ends. If you have questions or need assistance afterward, youll be directed to the help line, which hasnt been very responsive in my experience. If youre a small practice relying on reliable customer support, I recommend not solely relying on the salespeoples promises, as they may leave you without answers and provide you with a list of videos to watch, which can be time-consuming.
