“Been a user for 4 years now...
Pros
Scanning is excellent.
Cons
Scheduling concerns include the inability to view all doctor locations on one screen with each location appearing in a separate column. The separation between EHR and scheduling makes it tricky to view past encounters when making appointments hindering accuracy.

“Nextgen PM offers great Scheduling and flexible Billing
Pros
Among various Nextgen products this one is my favorite. It provides robust scheduling options along with additional features that can be activated or purchased.
Cons
While billing is robust the setup process is a nightmare. Proficiency is required and comprehensive training for the entire product is necessary; otherwise navigating it becomes challenging. The system comes at a high cost so be cautious.

“Years of use
Pros
Aesthetically pleasing screen. E-prescribing functions adequately. Capability to link summary information to chronic problems.
Cons
Inefficient design results in unnecessary clicks. Customer service is notably poor. For a year we had to input our specialty every time we entered a chart. Numerous complaints about the design including challenges in generating simple quality reports for meaningful use.

Particularly like the smart notes feature under "Reason for visit."

“Dermatology Office Using MediTouch's HealthFusion for nearly 1 year
Pros
Platform-independent working seamlessly across various operating systems. Browser-independent compatible with major browsers. Cloud-based with no need for specific in-house hardware/software. Localized to our time zone (Pacific) with U.S.-based customer service. In-house clearinghouse with the vendor. Operations are speedy despite being cloud-based.
Cons
Challenges include the absence of specialty-specific Meaningful Use PQRS and MACRA measures. Heavy customization is needed for documenting specific scenarios whether specialty-related or not. Certain extra components within standard documentation are unnecessary for most specialties and there's room for improvement in integrating PM and EHR.
