“simple offerings boost practice performance
Pros
I appreciate how simple all of ModMed's offerings are. Every new tool they release makes our practice run more smoothly and boosts our overall performance!
Cons
One drawback is that we cannot see the schedule template in firmadmin side-by-side with the live schedule. I have mentioned this before and know others have too but beyond that issue I have no other complaints.

“Superior billing and prior authorizations
Pros
Been really impressed with this program. Having worked with EZ Derm, Epic and EMA before, I found EMA to be far superior. The billing features stand out as the strongest part to me and getting prior authorizations is handled very well. What I do miss from EZ Derm is the interactive body map. But overall the software is pretty easy to use and feels much more user friendly than EZ Derm was.
Cons
Although I appreciate the interactive body map that EZ Derm offers, otherwise I am really fond of ModMed for its overall functionality and performance.

The interface is user friendly and well-organized which makes it easy to use during busy clinic sessions. I also like that certain fields auto-populate and I often use the previous findings tab to speed up filling in notes.
Cons
Occasionally a note won't save properly, forcing me to re-create the entire entry from scratch.

Using it I find the interface very simple and it makes documenting complex visits surprisingly easy.

As a user, I have found it extremely user friendly. I also love that purple is the best color they use. Plus the ModMed team is a amazing to collaborate with. And the analytics section really helps with generating reports. Moving away from our old system to this one was pretty easy too.

Whenever we have any feedback, they take it very seriously which is great and they are constantly finding ways to improve the system by adding new features and updates.
Cons
Customer service here is the worst I have ever experienced. Even with our previous, less capable EMR, they would resolve issues within a week. It's been about a month without a response to a simple question about whether we can send collection letters through our clearinghouse since we have ModMed BOOST. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened. It keeps happening over and over again.

I have found the service here to be absolutely outstanding as the quality stays high every single time and consistently goes beyond what I expect.
Cons
The least helpful part of ModMed, in my experience, is the Orders tab as I have no way to clear those alerts and they just keep piling up without an option to dismiss them.

“View insurance cards on claims
Pros
One thing I really appreciate is that I can view the patient's insurance cards right on the claim. The scrubs you can configure for claims make it much easier for me to catch frequent billing mistakes. Having all the front-end rejections grouped in one place is also incredibly handy.
Cons
I found posting payments really challenging when I began billing with ModMed because I dislike not being able to process a full remit at once. All denials funnel into a single 'denials' bucket on claims which was odd at first. Over time I have gotten used to having every denial collected in that one spot.

“Totally transformed our clinic operations
Pros
In our clinic it has totally transformed how we operate day to day. We have become noticeably more efficient and get more done on our patient days. Switching from paper charts to EMA for documentation has been an absolute lifesaver for our team. Overall the system feels very user friendly and easy to pick up and whenever we have questions, customer support has always been responsive and helpful.
Cons
I don't see many drawbacks to ModMed but one improvement I'd really like is Spanish language support, since a large portion of our patients speak Spanish and that would make communication and documentation much smoother for our team.

From my experience, the support team and staff are consistently friendly and helpful. Plus I find it user-friendly and easy to pick up. Even the implementation is quick and basic. And when a planned go-live date gets delayed, it is usually because users have not finished their required setup tasks.
Cons
I have been frustrated by how long it can take for them to implement program changes that would improve the system and be beneficial for users.

“Probably my worst experience with an EMR

The system works well and feels easy to use when its working. it makes charting a really simple job. But it often crashes, sometimes once a week which leads to paralyzing our practice because we lose the patient information and visit details which is a bummer.
Cons
Customer service is non-existent. As I mentioned earlier, the software crashes several times a month, leaving us unable to access any patient information (last exam, reason for visit, previous appointments, diagnostic imaging). If you try calling or emailing, you are directed to either an answering service that does not return calls or an email chain that promises someone will be in touch soon. This is simply the worst EMR I have ever used.

Pros
When we were using ipads for documentation 5 years ago, it used to feel like a very efficient way. But there hasnt been a lot updates ever since. I also think they can improve integration with other software. the response time to change requests also need to improve.
Cons
We had a time with the integration, the practice management app doesn't work well the finances. Its very annoying because of the errors in coding notes and services. I am also not happy with the customization options because they are very limited.

“You dont have to look anywhere else, its the best

ModMed software is user-friendly and it is nearly impossible to mess up. Everything is fixable which makes it excellent for teaching. You can pick it up quickly, as its easy to navigate and set preferences. I accepted this job because I did not want to use any other EMR system. It is definitely my favorite.
Cons
I get very frustrated when I have to block a schedule because it keeps taking me back to today's date.

The system is definitely better than the last one we were using. it also caters to all my needs and problems.
Cons
I am really unhappy with the long training period required for this software. it makes it very hard to focus on the patient care. Plus, there are more economical options available, this feels a bit expensive.
