Pros
I like that its very efficient in some areas but in some it lacks the expertise that we need.
Cons
There is a lack of options when it comes to user customization. Often, an ICD10 code is used for more than one diagnosis, and many common diagnoses are not even in the ModMed system with no way for users to add them. ModMed just tells us to use an ICD code that might include those diagnoses but the problem is that the specific diagnosis does not carry through to the note documentation.

“Pulls information from multiple sections
Pros
I appreciate being able to pull information from multiple sections. I also like that it adds items and receives system updates.
Cons
Sometimes it freezes on me and I notice there isn't any option to edit a note once I have hit save. Plus I would love an edit button because that would be very helpful. also I should be able to change my personal notes after saving.

“Amazing physician notes and billing
Pros
The way I can write physician notes is amazing and handle billing is outstanding. Plus it saves me a lot of time and I find the revenue cycle management easy and genuinely helpful.
Cons
I have been disappointed with the patient-practice interface. It hasn't met my expectations. Many of our patients refuse to download another app and we end up fielding numerous complaints about that. The portal itself can be awkward, especially for older patients who struggle to navigate it. It also fails to display all the details we'd like to share with patients. I am not happy that call and text reminders are handled by a third party. plus I wish we had greater control and tighter integration within our ModMed practice settings. Finally, the televisit setup lacks a screen-sharing option so we could review results and scans together in real time. That missing feature feels like a real missed opportunity that compromises patient education and overall experience.

“Great knowledge base for dermatology
Pros
As a dermatologist, I really appreciate the knowledge base and the simplicity it brings to running a dermatology office.
Cons
Honestly the pricing is a real pain, especially when we add another provider and I am not a fan of the check-in kiosk or the self-scheduling tools. As my patients frequently complain about both which creates extra work for our staff.

“Easy for new employees with great support
Pros
I am finding it easy to use as a new employee and the university support has been really helpful throughout the onboarding and learning process.
Cons
My biggest complaint is the system does not warn me to halt before exiting items that belong to the post-operative period. I would also really like a STOP-style prompt to appear when I try to save and move on after entering CPT codes like some kind of pop-up labeled POST OP PERIOD ALERT so I don't accidentally miss it.

Pros
Their representatives are very quick to respond and genuinely helpful. When I don't understand their reply, they take the time to simplify the solution in a way that makes the problem much easier for me to grasp.
Cons

I find the billing platform excellent as there are numerous ways for me to collect payments and keep track of claims.
Cons

I can easily share all the pertinent information with every member of the health care team on a single platform which makes coordination simpler. Also, imaging results are accessible to me before I begin a Physical Therapy evaluation or any follow-up session.
Cons
I find the text field for PT notes to be quite restrictive as whenever I go beyond the permitted amount of input it fails to save my daily session which means I can end up losing all of the notes I just entered.

What I like most about ModMed is how simple it is to navigate, even without any prior training.
Cons
What frustrates me most about ModMed is that when I need certain information quickly, I am forced to click through multiple menus and screens before I find it. It would be so much better if fewer clicks were required and more relevant details were consolidated in a single view so I could get what I need faster.

Whenever Michelle assists me, she's extremely knowledgeable and explains directions in a way that's easy for me to follow. On several occasions I have specifically asked if she could help and they always manage to connect me directly with her when I do.
Cons
I honestly cannot come up with a criticism as it has been fantastic and I'd be genuinely lost without their support. Even when they need to arrange a callback, it happens within a reasonable timeframe and doesn't leave me waiting.

“Billing team should be better
Pros
Customer service is always polite when I reach out but they cannot help much with billing issues. They direct me to the billing department but the wait time for a response is very long.
Cons
ModMed's billing team never responds to emails promptly and there is no direct number for the billing department. We keep getting billed for downgraded services and the response time is over two weeks. When someone does respond, they lack knowledge about our account. The wait time for responses is absurd. Our invoice portal is inaccurate and does not show all our invoices.

The system makes it easy to document HPI with quick text and creates a smooth process for orders.
Cons
The customer support needs to improve a little. There was no surgical op report available at the time of purchase and everything had to be customized. During this whole time, there has been very little support available to us.

The documentation system is very user-friendly for healthcare providers. this allows us to save time on administrative tasks and enable us to focus more on the patient care which is great.
Cons
ModMed is not very customizable and adaptable. Due to its inflexibility, sometimes we are the ones aligning our workflows with the system when it should be the other way around.
