“Very user friendly basic system”

Pros

I find the interface very user friendly. Overall the system is pretty basic that is easy for me to learn and train on.

Cons

There are limits to its flexibility and I notice redundant features in the less critical areas.

“Good cross-platform tool, occasional bugs”

Pros

The clinical platform is good. It works on both an iPad and a computer and is fairly simple to operate. The program has a few occasional bugs but is very functional. The CPT codes and charges that generate automatically are a huge help and you can change them easily if needed. It tracks MIPS well. The company is making a stronger effort to provide support and even gave me a credit when I explained how their mistakes cost me money. I reviewed several other Pain Management EHR vendors in the last three months and none could match ModMed's features, ease of use and overall functionality.

Cons

They do have regular functionality problems they call it unplanned maintenance but they fix them quickly.

“A great EMR”

Pros

The patient care process has gotten relatively easier and smotther for us after shifting to this system. this is because the user-friendly nature of this software.

Cons

Occasionally I experience downtime with this software especially during Amazon Prime day.

“A great option for dermatology EMR”

Pros

There are many features of this software that i appreciate. some of my favorites are the realtime charting features and the efficient biopsy log.

Cons

The system is always updating which is annoying at times.

The EHR documentation is really nice. But I am also fond of its interface on the ipad because its very functional.

Their customer service is terrible and there are a lot of billing problems. The unresponsiveness of team is a major problem.

“Best dermatology tools, no dislikes”

Pros

Modmed provides the absolute best combination of tools for practice management, workflow and billing. The simple operation, workflow aids, reporting and clean design make practicing dermatology much smoother. Modmed also provides helpful customer service that responds very quickly. Our practice has become much more efficient since we started using it.

Cons

There's nothing I dislike about the ModMed solution. I really wish I had started using it much earlier.

“Documentation from anywhere, easy to learn”

Pros

It lets me do my documentation from anywhere with an internet connection. Very easy to learn and has options to customize visits using set protocols.

Cons

Sometimes there are outages that stop us completely for hours, forcing us to use paper and pen until it's fixed. These problems are usually fixed within a few hours. Also, there's no way to copy or move protocols from one system setup to another. This is a huge missing feature that hasn't been addressed for years. I have already had to rebuild hundreds of protocols three separate times. I am tired of it. This should be a simple thing to fix.

“Simplified charting, massive paper upgrade”

Pros

I really love Modmed. My charting has become so much simpler. I switched from paper charts to this. What a massive upgrade! I love that you can use it on both an iPad and a PC.

Cons

It can be a little confusing sometimes, especially when they roll out an update.

“All patient care in one spot”

Pros

Like how everything important for patient care is all in one spot or just a few clicks away. I also like that ModMed opens a new tab every time you do something different within a patient's chart.

Cons

I wish you could schedule a patient's next appointment while you're already inside their chart. This could be improved by having a schedule appointment now button right there.

“Had a difficult experience”

Pros

The only good thing that comes to mind is their customer support team.

Cons

It takes way too long to train yourself for this system. it is also not too adaptable with our system and workflow, so customization is a problem.

“Faced issues after installation”

Pros

I really like most of its features and the user-friendly nature of this software.

Cons

The billing needs to get better, I keep contacting support for it and they are not very responsive or helpful which keeps frustrating me.

“Easy to monitor claims and denials”

Pros

In my position as the billing manager, I find it really easy to monitor our claims and track denials.

Cons

That said, the report functionality is comprehensive but I find the report builder painfully slow to use. Also, there's no user-friendly audit trail to identify who changed a patient's demographic details.

I find ModMed provides training via resources that are simplely connected within the EHR, giving me fast answers and solutions at my fingertips.

Cons

there aren't any downsides or dislikes when using ModMed.

“Top-notch pm and analytics module”

Pros

I have found the PM and analytics module to be absolutely top-notch and very reliable!

Cons

The Pre-collections module, however, doesn't let me remove accounts that have already been paid which is frustrating.

“Evolving platform with excellent community”

Pros

Over the years I have watched ModMed move through a lot of growth phases and it keeps evolving every day. I work in dermatology and have seen the platform branch out into other specialties. The system is easy to use. There are excellent community chat boards where I keep up with other practices and specialized staff channels help address issues, troubleshoot problems, or onboard newer users. ModMed University offers many training options for beginners and for experienced users who want to dig deeper. Having used several other PMS platforms, I now consider MM a fantastic medical office solution that I promote and recommend.

Cons

I have noticed the analytics could use more attention. I mean on the whole they're decent and offer a lot of options but uploading and refreshing data isn't always prompt. When I pull the same data from different reports that ought to match, they sometimes come back inconsistent which is really confusing and forces me to spend extra time wasting time trying to understand why the results differ.

“Constant updates and community features”

Pros

I appreciate that Mod Med constantly rolls out updates to enhance the platform and address bugs users face. Beyond that, I am a fan of the community section where members can post questions or ask for recommendations and the ideas area where users cast votes. From what I have seen, Mod Med frequently implements the top-voted suggestions in later releases.

Cons

Sometimes updates are released that don't function correctly before they reach users which frustrates me. I have also found Mod Med's ticketing section needs improvement. Often I receive an initial reply from client services but I rarely get clear confirmation that the problem has been resolved, so I am left wondering when or if it's actually fixed.

“Flexibility for efficient patient rooming”

Pros

I really appreciate the flexibility it provides when I am rooming patients. Once I became comfortable navigating the system and exploring the many options it makes available, the process of rooming patients becomes something I can finish both easily and quite quickly.

Cons

There's a frustrating amount of clicking required in some areas of ModMed and I find that tedious. As it can really slow my workflow when I am not exactly sure what I am searching for or how to proceed. I'd like it if the path to the finished result involved fewer individual clicks, so I could reach the end product faster and with less issue.

“Smooth check-in and check-out process”

Pros

Speaking for our front desk staff, I can say this system has made the check-in and check-out process much smoother overall. Insurance verification is done with just a couple of clicks and we're really happy with this product!

Cons

I wish that entering the zip code would automatically fill in the city and state fields for me.
