“Good EHR ModMed”
Pros
I found the suites integration of EMR and Practice Management to be seamless. The software facilitated easy scheduling of providers and effective linking of visits aiding in proper coding and supporting regulatory compliance. Regular updates were appreciated.
Cons
My only reservations concerned the limitation in scheduling customization and the slightly cumbersome note creation process which could benefit from more personalization options.

“Poor Customer Service”
Pros
I found the software to be easy to use with a manageable learning curve.
Cons
The user setup process was the most challenging aspect of the EMR with limited options for personalization and preferences. Furthermore the customer support left much to be desired.

“Quick documentation with specialty templates”
Pros
Using their specialty-focused templates has made quick documentation actually possible for me. I also notice the software gets frequent updates to keep pace with changing coding rules and to address user suggestions.
Cons
I don't really have many complaints. Occasionally an update introduces a bug but when I report it the team fixes it promptly.

“Smooth and highly efficient training”
Pros
We were blown away by how quickly the Modernizing Medicine team trained us and got the software up and running for our practice and surgery center. From our very first conversation we received genuine support and that level of help has continued as we've been users for four months now. The whole switch over felt remarkably smooth and highly efficient.
Cons
I haven't faceed a problem that the team couldn't resolve, nor is there any single aspect that makes me dislike the software or the company. The interface linking the practice system with the surgery center application is still under development in places, however the implementation team worked closely and strategically with us to customize the connection so it functions the way we require for our workflows.

“Single-click full patient charts”
Pros
What I like most is being able to pull up a patients full chart with a single click as everything is consolidated in one place. I can flip between office visit OV notes, biopsies, lab results, phone messages and more without hunting through different systems which saves a ton of time.
Cons
The biggest downside for me is that when patients call with billing questions, the external billing company often cannot provide answers. That leaves me to follow up or have the patient wait for clarification which creates frustration and extra work for both the office and the patient.

“Modernizing Medicine is the worst part of my medical practice”
Pros
I appreciated the graphics and the capability to take photos as well as the improving operative note feature.
Cons
Unfortunately my experience was marred by frequent software downtime glitches an unfriendly user interface redundant data entry areas and a lack of billing codes for common procedures.

“Cloud-based dermatology platform with customization”
Pros
Since I started using an EMR back in 1999 for my dermatology practice, I have grown to love the cloud-based Modernizing Medicine platform. It's built around diagnoses, suits dermatology workflows, makes saving photos simple and offers plenty of customization. I also notice the company continuously improves the product as they listen to user feedback and concerns and regularly roll out updates and enhancements based on customer suggestions.
Cons
I find it is fairly challenging for my newer staff to get comfortable with the system and there's a notable disconnect between the iPad workflow that the nurses use and the desktop interface I work from, so teaching them is often frustrating. The company appears to assume every user is very tech-savvy and has lots of spare time to hunt down online tutorials and step by step videos. They don't seem to appreciate that many people especially those over fifty have only basic computer skills and don't easily navigate to find help on their own. We did have one team member who became adept at customizing ModMed to fit our needs but that level of personalization isn't easy for most people. The default entries are so easy to plug in that nurses sometimes select them out of habit instead of documenting the actual examination findings. In short, the functionality is powerful, yet the training and user experience could be improved substantially to make the system more approachable and to reduce documentation errors from misplaced defaults.

“Mod Med doesnt work great for the cosmetic side of our practice.”
Pros
There were several aspects I liked including the softwares intuitiveness ease of use and helpful help button for guidance.
Cons
My main concern was the clunkiness of the software and the need for too many steps to complete simple tasks coupled with the inconvenience of not saving your place when navigating the software.

“simple move with effective virtual training”
Pros
My experience with the Modernizing Medicine team was that they handled a simple move for my physicians and staff from paper charts to an EMR and a new practice management system. All training was done virtually and proved highly effective. The EMR itself is user-friendly and its revenue cycle features have truly transformed my practice. Also I am impressed by the analytics as they clearly show where I should concentrate my efforts.
Cons
There isn't anything specifically wrong with ModMed. The issue was that we were moving off an older revenue cycle platform that couldn't run alongside the new system. Finding ways to post legacy transactions has sometimes been difficult and coming up with workable solutions took extra effort from our team.

“simple end-to-end platform use”
Pros
What I appreciate most is being able to use the whole platform end to end. In our practice we rely on EMA PM for patient registration and appointment scheduling and the way it ties into the EMR feels simple and reliable. Overall, I find it to be a very well-constructed system.
Cons
If I had to point out one drawback, I'd say the billing and financial section can be somewhat hard to use. Plus it is still fairly new within EMA and forces you through more clicks than necessary. It functions well enough but I wish the interface were redesigned to align tasks and cut down on wasted time.
