“excellent product really

Pros

I think the product is excellent overall. The one thing I'd mention is that you really have to make sure employees get the proper training to get the most out of it.

Cons

training process wasn't very helpful for me. I couldn't understand the online training and I ended up having to get someone from another office who uses the product to train me instead.

It's honestly the best way to chart in dermatology. Having pictures to click on for location and all the prepopulated dermatology disease states makes it perfectly suited for what we do.

There are occasional glitches where you lose all the work you just did.

It handles routine diagnoses well, and after using it for years, I can say it's pretty dependable.

It tends to undercode office visits when procedures are involved, which can be frustrating.

It's very easy to use. New users are able to get the hang of it quickly and existing users adapt to new updates without any disruption to their normal workflow.

A few features are only available on the PC and not on the iPad which can be limiting. But those are few and far between. Overall I'm very happy we chose to use ModMed.

I've only used ModMed and Practice Fusion EHRs and I can say that it is a lot easier to use. The pre-typed texts you can select just by ticking boxes make building chart visits much easier.

it doesn't send the e-prescriptions after I finalize the chart which is a problem.

Some of the automatic treatment plan suggestions don't really match up with the diagnosis I've entered.

It's pretty good overall. I just wish I could use the scheduling feature or that the financial part of ModMed worked with our other systems.

It's so easy to get around. I can add or remove impressions, send medications and put in lab and pathology orders without any issue.

Really don't like the lack of training for the MIPS process. I came from another EHR system and now I have to report from two different ones! They only gave me two hours to learn how to pick the right quality measures and chart them which just wasn't enough.

It is super user-friendly and pretty interactive to figure out.

Sometimes I type notes in the quick preview section and they don't actually save even though the little "saving" message pops up. It's frustrating.

The screens can be a little glitchy sometimes. I'll click on an option and then it just bounces back to the previous screen.

As a medical assistant I like the new update a lot. It's very useful and makes my work easier.

Not a fan of how new prescriptions just sit in a queue. It feels like it slows things down.

I really like that I can create chart notes just by picking data from dropdown fields.

It bugs me that I can't change the wording on some procedure notes myself. I have to submit a request ticket just to get a simple phrase updated which takes time.

The ease of use is my favorite part. I've been using ModMed for over eight years now and I've always enjoyed its simple interface and how thorough it is.

Cons

This new update is a real pain. It forces us to enter multiple duplicate medications and allergies for patients which causes a big delay when we're trying to chart. It really slows the whole clinic down.

I wish I could use it offline. It feels like I should be able to build my notes without needing a wifi connection.

ModMed is very user-friendly. Whenever there was something I didn't know, I just googled the tutorials and found the answer.

When I check a patient's insurance, it doesn't always fully populate the information into the right fields. I often have to fill in the blanks myself.
