Consistent user-focused updates and feedback

Pros

I have noticed they consistently roll out updates and genuinely reach out to users for feedback and suggestions.

Cons

In my experience, the practice management side doesn't feel as feature-rich or as technologically advanced as the EHR side.

Easy access whenever you need it

Pros

I really appreciate how easy it is for me to access Mod Med whenever I need it.

Cons

Managing the Order Log can be a real headache. So I wish there were more customizable fields so I could filter better.

Incredibly efficient and simple tool

Pros

I have found this tool incredibly efficient and simple to use. Overall it keeps getting better.

Cons

That said, for patient messaging we have to buy an external solution like Klara which is an extra expense.

Easy for staff with excellent support

Pros

My staff and the doctors find it really easy to use and their customer support has been excellent whenever I have reached out.

Cons

While the iPad interface works well, I notice the desktop layout is different and I find the computer version much less easy to use.

User friendly interface with quick results

Pros

I find ModMed's interface really user friendly and simple to us, the result of it is that I can get things done quickly without a steep learning curve.

Cons

For me, several of the new enhancements feel only partially developed and don't work as reliably as I had hoped which can be frustrating.

Great design and outstanding customer support

Pros

Since starting the EMA EMR with ModMed, my favorite thing about it has been its great design and user friendly nature. Like I do not have to search through other specialties diagnoses to find what I need. Their customer support is outstanding too and with no prior EMR experience, I found the transition surprisingly easy.

Cons

One frustration I have is needing a ticket to get 'upvoted' before my suggestion to fix a process glitch gains traction. Design labs are fantastic but I sometimes feel like my opinion gets really lost and it's difficult to make my voice really heard.

Innovation focus that benefits everyone

Pros

We're all on board with ModMed's focus on innovation and I think everyone in the clinic benefits from that. The platform is popular across the team be it providers, front-office staff and billing alike all seem to prefer it. Plus there is constantly a stream of new features coming from the R&D group which keeps things fresh and interesting. Overall I love to use it and that speaks volumes about its strength as a practice management and EHR solution.

Cons

I feel the scheduling templates could benefit from more of ModMed's hallmark simplicity such as a bit more streamlining would make them much easier to use.

Streamlines workflows, slow problem resolution

Pros

I have found it genuinely helps streamline clinical workflows and makes posting payments much easier and more reliable for our practice.

Cons

What frustrates me is the inability to get issues resolved quickly or have problems solved on the first call because when I ask about a specific feature I am usually told that's in the works or I can add that to the list which feels like a vague, slow response to our needs.

Easy exploration but feedback ignored too often

Pros

I find EMA pretty easy to explore on my own and I like how easy it is to pull up and review patient clipboards. Overall Klara has been a great patient communication tool for us. We used it long before it became part of EMA and even now I still love it and our patients seem to feel the same way. In short it is simple to operate and I like how their reports make reconciling so easy.

Cons

I'd like EMA to do a better job of acting on client feedback more regularly, especially when the suggestions would genuinely improve usability for practices like ours. Also, I have noticed customer support can be slow to respond at times and occasionally they never get back to you which is frustrating when you're waiting for help.

Very thorough with accurate ipad dictation

Pros

I have found the platform to be very thorough and I can easily dictate from my iPad in real time with impressively accurate transcription. It integrates smoothly with Trizetto for claim processing which speeds up reimbursements and keeps payments timely. The company keeps improving the tech.

Cons

There are still programming bugs and I notice that moving between screens sometimes causes buffering which can take a bit of time.

One-step tasks with great value

Pros

From my experience with EMR platforms, most require a bunch of steps to do a single task but with MMPM I can usually get it done in just one step and I think the built-in features and optional add-ons make it well worth using!

Cons

I wish the analytics were actually integrated so I could access real-time numbers instantly.

way too many annoying scrolling issues

Pros

For me the paperless setup is great and overall it is generally easy to use.

Cons

I get frustrated by the endless scrolling through dozens of options such as anesthesia types, bandage options, suture varieties which feels like lazy programming and then the solution was to replace it with sticky notes in the interface. Unfortunately, some of those sticky notes don't remain sticky. like I have been trying to edit one post-operative care note for about a year and it vanishes for a while only to suddenly reappear again.

Visual patient tracking is good

Pros

I really like being able to glance and see which patients are arriving as the system makes it simple to spot who's in the lobby thanks to the photos captured. It also clearly shows where each patient is throughout the course of their visit which I find very helpful.

Cons

I wish the reporting could provide subtotals, so when I am running reports I could quickly see, at a glance, how each provider is performing, all summarized on a single report instead of digging through multiple pages.
