“Absolute trash software
Pros
There is absolutely nothing redeemable about this software. It should be purged from the earth.
Cons
I’ve been in the field of social work for nearly two decades, and I can say without exaggeration that this is the most counterintuitive, clunky, and glitch-ridden software I’ve ever used. Basic, essential information—such as emergency contacts, diagnoses, and insurance details—is buried behind layers of poorly organized menus and cannot be accessed efficiently. Note sections must be completed in an illogical, forced order, and the system regularly deletes client signatures or blocks access to notes you’ve already written. Netsmart Avatar is so fundamentally dysfunctional that its implementation by an agency should be considered a red flag for prospective employees. It actively hinders productivity, jeopardizes documentation integrity, and adds needless stress to already demanding work. I would give it zero stars if that were an option.

“Trash software
Pros
Nothing. Garbage software.
Cons
I’ve been in be behavioral and mental health fields for over 15 years, and I’ve genuinely never worked with a less user friendly interface in my entire career. Bugs and glitches are an hourly occurrence, that is, when you’re able to log in at all.

“Avatar: How to make large caseloads seem even larger.
Pros
One potential positive aspect is that it creates job opportunities for IT personnel specializing in EMR systems.
Cons
The platform's outdated appearance reminiscent of the "dial-up" era contributes to its slow performance and frequent crashes. Its inefficiencies and lack of user-friendliness have led to significant frustration among users, impacting their job satisfaction and productivity.

“In FULL agreement with the other 22 people that left reviews
Pros
Despite its flaws, it's marginally easier to use than the previous EMR we employed.
Cons
Lack of user-friendliness indicates that the designers of the software lack practical experience in the field, resulting in excessive clicks and inefficient workflows, ultimately creating more work for users.

“Initial Assessment of EHR among multiple types used
Pros
Unfortunately, there is nothing commendable about this software. It consistently underperforms and is frustratingly repetitive.
Cons
Users frequently encounter data loss and frustration due to the software's tendency to unexpectedly discard entered notes. Additionally, the bundling feature fails to provide useful assistance and instead adds unnecessary repetition to tasks.

“I've used others so I am aware what good looks like.
Pros
It's difficult to identify any significant positives about this software. Its complexity and lack of transparency might serve purposes other than legitimate medical practice management.
Cons
In-person support was promised but not delivered upon implementation, and the software's unintuitive design makes it challenging to locate information efficiently. The transition from MyAvatar to MyAvatarNX exacerbated existing issues, leading to user demoralization and decreased job satisfaction.

Pros
There's very little to appreciate about this software. Compared to other systems, its reliability is questionable, and its functionality is severely lacking.
Cons
Numerous usability issues, including unreliability, slow performance, fragmented patient information, and poor organization of prescription history, pose significant risks to patient safety and contribute to user dissatisfaction.

“Avoid Avatar
Pros
While Avatar boasts a wide range of features, the convoluted steps required to complete even simple tasks and the counterintuitive interface make it an absolute nightmare to navigate.
Cons
The program's poor design and cumbersome workflows make even simple tasks, such as entering medication orders, unnecessarily complicated. Additionally, the lack of basic features like cut-and-paste functionality within the program further exacerbates user frustrations.

“Barely better than paper
Pros
Avatar represented a substantial upgrade from our previous software, SATIS, approximately 15 years ago. Despite its limitations, it felt like a significant improvement at the time.
Cons
Recent upgrades have worsened the software's functionality, leading to increased inefficiencies and frustration among users. The software's slow performance and lack of essential features suggest a lack of consideration for user needs and workflow efficiency.

Pros
Turning off the software at the end of each day may be the only relief users experience from its inherent frustrations.
Cons
The software's sluggish performance and lack of user-friendly features make scheduling appointments a time-consuming and frustrating task.
