“Love how customizable It is!”
Pros
Scheduling, canceling or deleting a patient's appointment is super easy. It's a quick and simple process that saves me a lot of time and hassle.
Cons
Honestly, the thing I like the least about NextGen is the document scanning, it just feels like a clunky process.

“Good but could use some updates”
Pros
I love how customizable and configurable it is. The fact that we can create our own templates if NextGen doesn't already have one that fits our needs is a huge bonus.
Cons
Some of the templates are really long and cumbersome. There are way too many fields to fill out and too many clicks for the providers, which ends up wasting time.

“Needs a bit of work”
Pros
The application is easy to use and I love the EMR template customization options.
Cons
If you rename a practice or location, the audit reports stop tracking correctly because the previous name is no longer available which is really annoying.

“Fax and template headaches”
Pros
Being able to send faxes directly from the EMR is useful and the inbox works really well.
Cons
Interface is overly complicated and there are too many technical problems especially global memory errors when trying to fax. There are also ongoing issues with the templates.

“Cluttered and slow”
Pros
There are plenty of billing features available in the software which is definitely useful. It covers a lot on the billing side but the interface still needs improvement especially when compared with competitors like eCW and Kareo.
Cons
UI needs to be more easy so all the options are easier to understand and the system also feels a bit slow and laggy at times.

“Quick daily workflow”
Pros
Getting things done with this is quick and easy and the workflow is simple to follow as well. It would be even better if there were some pictorial representations included too.
Cons
At times, the loading takes longer than expected. That's the main issue I've noticed.

“Time-saving templates”
Pros
Templates and macros make charting feel effortless and save me a lot of time and hassle.
Cons
I'd really like a bit more flexibility to customize the interface and workflows around my specific needs because the current setup can feel a little too generic at times.

“Easy payment posting”
Pros
Keeping invoice records organized is much better with the payment posting feature and that part of the software is genuinely impressive.

“Billing feature is reliable”
Pros
NextGen is an easy to use and user-friendly system with seamless billing capabilities. One other thing worth mentioning is that it records everything, like what and when something is get done by an individual.
Cons
One thing that I dislike the most is that there is no mechanism to catch errors for Self-Pay issues.

“Easy to customize to fit our needs”
Pros
NextGen is great tool that allows us to customize it as per our needs. But for all the modifications additional investment is required or you must hire a programmer who knows the process or pay for the services.
Cons
If you do not have a programmer on staff then keep in mind you will have to spend a lot of money in order to customize it which may not be suitable for small businesses.

“Top-notch and affordable”
Pros
As per my experience I found NextGen easy to maneuver. Plus it has high-quality functionality and wide range of integration platforms. Also the software is easy to customize and has proven to be very useful for us.
Cons
The aesthetics of the software is not the best. As an outdated 32-bit application, we feel like it needs a modern update something similar to EPIC software. Plus its interface feels a bit clunky which requires more clicks compared to other EMR systems. Additionally the permission settings could benefit from a thorough overhaul to prevent potential mistakes.

“Best for those on a budget”
Pros
If you run a clinic on a budget and looking for a complete EHR package (eliminating any nonsense features you never really need), NextGen is the way to go as per me.
Cons
Customer support is not the best. Like when needed, we never get a support instantly. (although they do help when they are finally reached).

“Helps with our outpatient services”
Pros
The NextGen Enterprise software has its pros. Like it has been working out great for us in our ambulatory care clinic. Our revenue figures have been getting better and better ever since we signed up.
Cons
Navigation is not as easy as I expected in the beginning. Plus the price for customization is also a bit too high. Rest is ok!

“Crowded chart views”
Pros
One of the strongest parts for end users is the inbox. It brings tasks, appointments, PAQ and the portal together in one place which makes day-to-day work much more manageable. Compared with another EMR I've used, Avatar, this one feels a lot more user friendly.
Cons
The chart can feel pretty overwhelming for the end user. My organization handles a high number of providers and daily finds so charts often end up carrying a very large amount of data. On top of that, performance can be slow when working in these high-volume charts.

“Connected workflow success”
Pros
Nearly everything is linked together and only a click away which makes getting around the platform really convenient. I also appreciate how naturally the system moves from one template to the next without breaking the flow.
