“Extremely reliable but a bit pricey”
Pros
Personally, I find NextGen extremely reliable as it's virtually always online. I like that it bundles a range of services, from the EHR itself to billing tools and health information management and that it integrates with many types of healthcare providers around the world. To me it's an excellent platform for sharing patient information between clinicians and it makes it easy to deliver care from any location at any time which is really helpful in emergencies. I also appreciate that it helps ensure the right medications and diagnoses by using patients' historical medical records. Its cloud-based storage feels more secure for keeping patient data while still being accessible from anywhere via the web and patients can schedule appointments without having to travel to the clinic.
Cons
The interface for creating layouts requires far too many clicks which makes setup and adjustments tedious and time-consuming. I also think the way information is displayed needs work since it doesn't feel organized. On top of that it is not very friendly to small startup hospitals because the upfront installation costs are high.

“Has absolutely no flow”
Pros
Performs effectively in daytoday use.
Cons
The lack of flow between areas requires excessive scrolling and clicking to find hidden elements. Formal training on system usage would be beneficial.

“Smooth and Efficient.”
Pros
With this system your office will flow in a very smooth way, without any worries or concerns. With this system the communication between healthcare providers have been so easy. It is easy and provides the view of imaging, can send messages to the provider, document care, and keep track of patients’ check ins and check outs. It has everything that any medical practice requires.
Cons
Like any other software, it also has some glitches that are apparent and sometimes just to get rid of them you would have to restart or reset the system, but it is not such a big deal. It is a minor issue that can be dealt with.

“Excellent for essential clinical tasks”
Pros
It is fairly easy to handle essential clinical tasks like documenting a visit, logging phone encounters, delegating to staff, requesting referrals, e-prescribing meds and maintaining problem lists. Templates/records are also easy to customize when needed. I must say reliability is at its best and customer support is excellent so far.
Cons
From my experience some templates feel a bit clunky with too many clicks. though this has been improving slowly. I have also noticed known issues after updates that cause minor inconvenience until they are fixed.

“Old-fashioned.”
Pros
There isn’t much that I like about this software, but just one thing I would want to mention that was nice, was the patient summary as it showed the time and who took the vitals etc. Other than this I don’t think anything is worth mentioning.
Cons
The words are quite tiny, that you sometimes can’t read them and have to squint your eyes in a try to make it readable. To finish or complete a task, you have to click million or billion buttons, which is very annoying. Too many clicks. The system is quite bland, no color or anything, you wouldn’t like working on it at all. At least I don’t like working on it and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone based on my experience with this software.

“Smooth interface, poor document routing”
Pros
Honestly I am really impressed with how tasking and charting work directly inside patient charts. Also the interface is user friendly and everything functions smoothly. I also find the faxing integration extremely seamless.
Cons
I dislike that there's no easy way to route documents and faxes directly into patient charts which is frustrating for our workflow.

“Best administrative tool for practice”
Pros
The program is complete. It is a nice and simple program. For administration I’d say it is the best tool. It offers quite a wide range of features and functionalities as well as medical specialties and consulting services. I like its practical and integral part of the functions. It is an amazing tool.
Cons
Nutrition is the basis of health and this system would make it more interesting to use if they include nutrition to it as well, so this is not a con but just a suggestion to the vendor.

“Limited by poor implementation”
Pros
There's not much to rave about. It's simply a software application and that pretty much covers it. It could certainly be improved but in my experience the way it's set up at work prevents it from integrating as seamlessly as it should.
Cons
I am not completely sure because our implementation at work isn't configured correctly. I think the program has potential but it doesn't feel like it in our setup. I cannot understand why my employer pays for tools yet fails to make them function well together.

“Painfully slow with frequent downtime”
Pros
I am honestly not a big fan of this software overall. While I find it fairly pretty easy to use, I still think there are more modern, user-friendly alternatives available that feel more up to date.
Cons
Often it's painfully slow and we experience a lot of downtime. I have seen e-prescribing fail on occasion and patients frequently tell me their prescriptions never make it to the pharmacy. On top of that, you basically have to join the community to figure out how to do certain things on your own.

“Difficult EMR to use even more difficult to get rid of Poor customer service poor tech support”
Pros
The billingpractice management side of MeditouchNextGen Office is considered average by my biller. However issues with the EMR made it impractical leading to a switch in EMR.
Cons
Initiated with MeditouchHealth Fusion later rebranded as NextGen Office the software is critiqued as the worst product rigid with many clicks and not user friendly. Glitches chart discrepancies and a lack of customer service prompted a switch to a different EMR with continued billing issues even after cancellation.
