Amazing for reliable electronic billing

Pros

I have found this program really amazing especially when handling billing. Our organization used to lose money because paper forms are a nightmare as totals would sometimes get entered incorrectly or documents would go missing. That hasn't happened since we started using NextGen which gives us a reliable way to send electronic bills to patients and serves as an extra layer of protection against those kinds of costly errors.

Cons

the interface could be more approachable for newcomers both clinicians and staff who aren't familiar with healthcare software and electronic records. I think making it more user friendly and providing clearer guidance for people who are new to electronic charting would help reduce confusion and speed up onboarding.

Good EHR

Pros

NextGen stands out as a great product with excellent scheduling and template features. While the connection to medical information is acceptable the layered organization of patient accounts avoiding unrelated information grouping proves beneficial.

Cons

Improvement is needed in product support with challenges in effectively communicating needs and a sluggish process for adding features.

It's fine but....

Pros

The layout of the charts ease of navigation between forms and prompts for ICD9 codes are features I appreciate.

Cons

Creating imaging orders involves an excessive number of steps and printing items like medications lacks an easy solution. Furthermore integration with our checkout system electronic iPads for enhanced convenience is desired.

Keep up with your patients

Pros

Surprisingly versatile the software can manage everything from behavioral health to dental patients. It includes labeled pictures of body parts and teeth for the next provider to examine with tasks proving universally applicable across departments.

Cons

The software interface exhibits an outdated appearance suggesting that features should be more appealing to the younger generation as the user demographic gets younger.

If not for the reports all would be 5 stars

Pros

The software is fully integrated eliminating the need for uploading or downloading. Claims are sent upon saving and daily ERA's arrive without manual retrieval.

Cons

The reports module is excessively complicated lacking laymen friendly language. Custom reports either require payment or extensive training making it less accessible to laymen.

Easy viewing but has too many icons

Pros

It is pretty easy to view a patient's schedule and detailed information within the system.

Cons

Sometimes there are so many icons for me to sift through that I end up spending extra time checking them.

Very happy with the service

Pros

Overall great system. saves a great deal of time. once you learn the ways, customization of documents, forms and schedules make future use very simplified. it is intuitive and does not require you to put additional information over and over. another thing that is super convenient about NextGen is how fast the payment procedure is.it intuitively puts together large bills. With my previous system, I had to punch in all the information manually and then forward it to the billing department. the billing system offers many functions, once you order a test that is a follow-up or in your note, you document the follow-up, it automatically appears in the recall list. the progress reports are well organized. the data is saved itself so you dont have to worry about losing any information.

Cons

Multitasking is difficult in this system. It does not allow you to view more than one page or tab at a time. you have to close the current tab to open up another section or if you need to open other patients chart at the same time you are with one patient in the room

Multiple klicks and tabs leads to slowdown in patient flow I spent about 2 12 hours every night finishing charts that i didn't have with paper charts

Pros

IT is intuitive and not overly challenging to learn. Although most features worked by the 8th year we paid the same amount for all features even those that were not functional.

Cons

Inefficiency is a notable drawback compounded by the frustration of gaining and losing features with each upgrade.

Be prepared to train your employees forever

Pros

The software's dual functionality encompassing Practice Management and the EHR is appreciated. While initially challenging for new users the clear distinction simplifies the transition. The ability for patients to selfregister before the initial visit significantly streamlines the entry of new patient information.

Cons

Some functions are exclusive to either Practice Management or the EHR requiring toggling between the two during new patient admissions. Determining employee profiles and permissions was timeconsuming with ongoing efforts to optimize system use. The nonintuitive and challenging learning curve suggests a need for a better Electronic Medical Records system.

Great experience

Pros

Customizing documents questionnaires and forms enhances efficiency particularly after overcoming a learning curve. The software expedites processes from creating superbills to generating claims upon note closure. Chief complaint questionnaires aid staff and streamline provider work offering diverse ways to view claims recall lists and interfaces with labs and vaccine registries.

Cons

Inability to view multiple tabs simultaneously hampers efficiency necessitating saving and closing tasks to navigate different chart sections. This applies to both the PM and patient chart causing timeconsuming singletasking.

Medical Asst

Pros

I have no positive impressions of this system.

Cons

With 13 providers the system lacks user functionality appearing outdated with nonpromoted cursors and inconvenient double password logins. It's deemed not worth the money spent with decisionmakers not experiencing the system's drawbacks.
