I used NextGen all through school and it was always hard to learn and become stressful.

Pros

NextGen's organization by exam findings and procedures is appreciated allowing easy printing of a chart summary for report inclusion.

Cons

What's least liked about NextGen is the excessive clicking required. The tab cycling and the necessity to click each tab individually can be frustrating.

I have seven years and counting work experience with Nexgen in opthalmology it is tedious and time consuming.

Pros

The history page's efficiency lies in the ability to click on multiple diagnoses simultaneously for saving.

Cons

Really easy to navigate and modify

Pros

Navigating Healthfusion through NextGen is really easy and I am able to modify blueprints myself. Plus I can quickly get in touch with customer support whenever I need help.

Cons

I have discovered the orders tab cannot be customized especially the lab panels which creates a lot of confusion and HealthFusion hasn't offered a solution to fix this issue.

Incredibly slow and repetitive system

Pros

I cannot find any positives. The software runs incredibly slowly and feels unnecessarily repetitive in its workflows.

Cons

Pretty much everything frustrates me such as appointment scheduling, how medications are entered, documenting patient history and complaints, repetitive templates and the support is painfully slow.

LOW QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE

Pros

The software's collection tools are excellent provided proper training has been undertaken.

Cons

Strong criticism for customer service labeled as unacceptable due to the prolonged resolution time for cases. The requirement to create a case for any issue urgent or not is considered a significant drawback.

Simple and consolidated patient management

Pros

I am glad that so much patient information is consolidated in one spot because it makes monitoring and managing their healthcare needs really simple and convenient.

Cons

I find it frustrating that the system doesn't offer an effective way to generate reports for things like overdue immunizations or A1c values that fall outside the normal range.

way too many glitches with lost orders

Cons

When I try to order tests, the system keeps glitching. And if I navigate away to a different screen, the order doesn't get saved.

Nextgen is a very useful product but it is not the most learner friendly.

Pros

The abundance of auto-fill and "select-all" features made filling out patient charts quickly and keeping up with the doctor a hassle free task.

Cons

While I appreciate NextGen for ophthalmology it is evident that the software was not developed by a medical professional. Although I like most aspects of the software there are some features that could benefit from input from a medical professional.
