“A major leap forward and user friendly
Pros
I find the tool really user friendly and genuinely useful. In short NextGen was a major leap forward compared to the system we used before.
Cons
In our experience, we had to customize and tailor several parts of the software to suit specific areas of the practice.

“Slow and frustrating lab access
Pros
As a family practice clinician, I find the interface user friendly and easy to move through during patient visits.
Cons
I often end up having to go through multiple separate pages before I can access lab results and follow-up notes which slows me down.

“Clean layout but way too many features
Pros
I really appreciate how easy navigation and the clean layout are
Cons
most of the extra features feel superfluous and I end up not using nearly half of the different functions that are available here anymore

“Very easy to pick up and operate
Pros
As a children's behavioral health case manager who's used NextGen EHR at both my previous and current organizations, I have found it very easy to pick up and operate. Everything I require is accessible from the main screen and I can pull up particular documents without having to endlessly scroll through face notes all day.
Cons
I wish there were a single, standardized version that every agency used. for now the templates I relied on at my last employer are arranged differently where I work now which created an avoidable learning curve. I also get frustrated that the system goes down as often as it does now.

“Simple but works slow at times
Pros
I have found this EMR to be among the simplest I have used, yet sometimes tracking down specific details is tricky because everything is often split across multiple tabs.
Cons
Often, I find the system sluggish to load and when I am juggling several tabs at once it ends up taking a lot of my time.

“Expensive to customize
Pros
I am using NextGen and feel it's a well-integrated system that really aligns billing while being useful for our medical staff.
Cons
One downside I have noticed is the extra expense when adding providers and the high cost for additional fields, like templates for physical therapy.

“Depending on what department this EHR is used for will either help or annoy you.
Pros
There are several aspects of this EHR software that I particularly like. It offers numerous features and detailed navigation.
Cons
Paradoxically what I like the most is also something I dislike. Due to the extensive navigation options it is easy to get lost or forget how to navigate to a specific location.

“NextGen is an EHR that packs a punch!
Pros
The software's great functionality enables us to store medical and dental data in one place enhancing patient care accessibility for providers and patients.
Cons
The software can be somewhat clunky. It feels like a collection of different software applications put together which is noticeable. Reporting is not consolidated in one place but scattered across multiple locations with varying functionalities.

“Great system overall
Pros
We have been using this system in all our practices for about a year and it has been fantastic! The variety of available reports surpasses our old Vision system. Daily closing reports are now hassle-free compared to what we were accustomed to making the process a breeze.
Cons
The biggest drawback I have experienced with the system is occasional server downtime and associated lag time.

“Almost Perfect
Pros
The ERA integration is seamless and has eliminated the need for a dedicated biller. It only takes 3-3 hours per week for a busy specialty practice including billing and posting. The MACRA data aggregation is phenomenal significantly streamlining office operations.
Cons
Lab integrations and tracking data points for blood work or vitals could be improved. Although they offer text messaging for appointments it would be beneficial to have the option to disable it for certain appointments patients or resources.

“Easy to use!
Pros
Since implementing this system in our practice we have loved it! It allows for customization of templates to suit our needs and I particularly appreciate being able to access the patient's last test results previous medications and more. Printing reports is also remarkably easy which is a major plus.
Cons
The support system can be slow to respond when problems arise and the server occasionally goes down leaving us unable to work.

“Easy to use EHR
Pros
It has been a few years since I used the software and it was my first experience with an EHR under newer federal requirements. I found the program easy to use and fairly intuitive. Our practitioners became proficient with the system relatively quickly.
Cons
We didn't have a specific way to document dietitian services so I used the same screens and fields as physicians for documenting care plans and session notes. Initially it was a challenge for our medical office to determine the most appropriate locations for certain documentation but most of us adapted quickly.

“Too complex for small practice. Overall stellar service
Pros
You can get all kinds of tasks done with it. Everything you can expect from an EHR, it delivers. It is a robust system which has great potential. Allows customization. However, it is slightly difficult to maneuver without regular IT support.
Cons
NextGen is a wonderful system for large enterprises with a devoted IT department. But for smaller practices with no permanent on-site tech support, the software can be a hassle. It is a big fancy system unfit for clients with simpler needs. Be that as it may, once you learn and absorb all information, it will work great. Their fee contract is ridiculously high on the off chance that you actualize only the EPM, at that point reveal the EHR sometime in the future: theyll need to charge you back pay for the EHR too.

“Great Improvements
Pros
The system was dated and lacked a number of advanced features. However, its a great user-friendly system and has been bettering its services in recent years so we chose to stick with it. It works efficiently with broadband internet as compared to Wi-Fi. The e-prescription of controlled medicines is a great feature it supports. Works great with iOS which is an immense help.
Cons
Their support staff is great but inconsistent. The system downtime, although is minimized now, can be a huge problem, especially during work hours. They should at least offer an offline read-only database so that we can access necessary data for the patients. If you are not tech savvy or have former training, working around the templates can be hard. Initially, they provided no training and online tutorials were the only help available.

“Offers solutions for practice management and EHR
Pros
The use of Google Chrome ensures quick loading times. The program is compatible with Mac OS and tablets offering customizable fields that can be quite intricate.
Cons
The interface feels clunky and outdated requiring a revamp to improve intuitiveness. Post-implementation support is challenging to obtain and contact.

“Nextgen has improved on the Meditouch EHR
Pros
Utilizes Google Chrome resulting in fast performance especially when using a wired connection. Mac-friendly and efficient e-prescribing of controlled substances.
Cons
Support with NextGen is better than with HealthFusion but still relatively slow. Occasionally their server experiences downtime which hinders our work. It would be beneficial to have a Read-Only in-office server option to access the most recent office visit and patient medications during server downtime. Making changes to templates can be difficult without strong expertise. Medication and problem listings require closing office notes to view which could be improved by opening them in separate windows. Additionally viewing more than one office visit at a time is not possible; closing one visit is necessary to review a previous one. Initial training from HealthFusion was lacking consisting only of online videos.

“This system is adequate
Pros
The system is designed for tablet use with large buttons for ease of navigation. It offers numerous personalization options to meet individual standards.
Cons
It can be challenging to receive additional training after implementing the software. The sections for scanned documents are organized by date rather than subcategories making it less intuitive.
