Terrible UI with missing therapy guidance

Pros

Honestly I have very little to praise. It's only slightly better than writing all my notes.

Cons

I find myself clicking a million times to complete each note and the user interface is terrible. I also notice it completely lacks ROM instructions for the wrist and hand and omits strength guidance for every joint. I basically have to type everything and the therapy wording syntax is wrong.

The windows xp of healthcare apps

Pros

To me it feels like the Windows XP of healthcare apps. As I find it pretty simple to learn, easy to move around and it has clear menus and a usable interface.

Cons

Sometimes it can be sluggish and I feel it looks a bit dated when compared with newer software offerings.

Easy, quick but gets slowed down

Pros

the interface is easy to use, the system runs quickly, it's regularly updated and I can customize it to fit our practice's needs.

Cons

Sometimes newer releases add extra panels I have to click through and I notice that this occasionally slows down processing.

Highly customizable daily workflows

Pros

I really appreciate the way it lets me customize file maintenance and my daily workflows so they fit our practice.

Cons

One drawback I run into is that not every report includes all the filtering options I rely on which can be annoying.

Forced into a backwards workflow

Pros

I have found a few genuine time-savers, such as being able to press a button that has the charge page automatically adjust our timed units for Medicare billing. Another feature I appreciate is the flow sheet that carries exercises forward from one session to the next, saving me from re-entering the same activities each visit.

Cons

Honestly this system forces me through an absurd number of clicks before I can finish almost anything and it drives the workflow into separate pages for tasks that should be together. It actually ends up being quicker to finish a note using the shortcuts on the charge page, even though that clearly isn't the intended workflow which tells me the design feels backwards. Also, I get frustrated that I cannot have more than one chart open at once. It's a real problem in our busy PT clinic where I am often juggling several patients at the same time. The exercise flow sheet is awkward too as I have to apply changes there and then still hit save and close which refreshes the whole page. So if I miss a step, the exercises won't populate onto the previewed note. I could keep listing examples but the bottom line is that these inefficiencies add up and make my job harder than it needs to be.

All-in-one but feels clunky

Pros

It is an all in one platform that handles everything from scheduling client appointments to maintaining chart notes and it even lets providers send notes to each other within a particular client's chart so the documentation stays consolidated.

Cons

Honestly I think the system feels clunky and isn't very easy to use.

Neatly arranged and simple menus

Pros

I really appreciate the menus being neatly arranged and genuinely simple, so any team member can really quickly find what they're looking for.

Cons

After selecting the option I need, the process becomes slightly more difficult to follow and understand.

Pros

it is really easy to set up new patient charts or make changes to existing ones.

Cons

Scanning and uploading paperwork into patient charts ends up taking a huge amount of my time and feels very tedious.

The search is very easy, billing is not a problem too and writing notes is simple to do.

packed with great features, however slow

Pros

I have found it has a wide range of features, excellent flexibility and supportive customer service.

Cons

Wide functionality but quite buggy

Pros

its great that it provides a wide range of functionality and doesn't cost as much as many other EHRs but at the same time it still contains the UDS measures that our practice needs.

Cons

Honestly I am frustrated because the system is quite buggy and forces a bunch of unnecessary sections and checkboxes that are mandatory and cannot be turned off easily. I also wish NextGen offered more options for customization.

Pros

the form is extremely easy to complete and in my experience it performs well for smaller workloads.

Cons

When I am using it, I have noticed it becomes very slow at generating information, especially whenever the network gets even slightly congested.

Very pleased with the company

Pros

The cost-effectiveness of this EHR practice management and billing software is remarkable for small practices. The inclusion of their clearing house streamlines operations and the support staff promptly resolves issues with professionalism.

Cons

There are numerous useful aspects of the software that I haven't fully explored yet. It took me some time to streamline my note-writing process based on my work style. Once I learned to use dictation from my computer in the text boxes it worked well for me.

Not as promised.

Pros

Modifying templates or documents on the go is easy. The scheduling portion and financial reports are also commendable.

Cons

The customer support is average at best. There is a lot of passing from one person to another promised call-backs are often delayed by days or don't happen at all. The conversion process didn't meet expectations. Medication documentation is confusing redundant and inefficient. Lab results do not autopopulate for tracking over time requiring manual entry into flowsheets. There are issues with electronic claims submissions. If given the opportunity I would terminate my contract without paying for the full three years.

Instruction Book

Pros

The schedule can be customized with different colors for doctors and clinics making it easy to navigate.

Cons

It would be helpful to have comprehensive instruction or a guidebook on how things work. I prefer not to rely solely on the Community for answers.

Great system it's a keeper

Pros

User-friendly interface with the ability to save templates for efficient note-taking and e-prescribing medications.

Cons

The lack of visibility regarding successful fax transmissions is a drawback. Having a notice or alert system would make it much easier.

Nice web based product

Pros

Intuitive navigation seamless integration with Practice Management software and convenient toggling between patient information. Easy email and fax functionality.

Cons

Customer service can be slow at times and the Help screens are not always informative enough. The available tutorials are not user-friendly.
