It's a good system. There is no perfect EHR.

Pros

The built-in coding guidance is helpful especially for providers.

Cons

There have been reports of problems with medication transmission to pharmacies. Providers need assistance in keeping medication lists and chronic problems up to date.

overall functions are good. physicians do not like the ICD10 wording its very confusing to them.

Pros

The system facilitates medical decision management code calculation and communication between EHR and EPM. User preferences can be easily set and the EHR tasking feature is excellent.

Cons

Free-texting in the HPI and a lack of sufficient picklist options in the assessment and plan are drawbacks. Spell check is also missing.

I've enjoyed using it. I think the flow is easy and not very complex making it smooth to work with

Pros

The system's flow is smooth with minimal clicks. The favorites feature including phrases physical exams and ROS is easy to set up and utilize.

Cons

I don't have any significant complaints; the focus should be on making it even easier to work with. That will improve providers' workflow and reduce the time it takes to see a patient.

Good base product that will allow you to start using EHR workflows immediately.

Pros

Most features are conveniently located on one screen making it easy for staff to use. Tasking between EHR and EPM for follow-up tasks is possible as well as real-time charge capture.

Cons

We had to customize several templates for our specialty to meet our physicians' workflow needs. There are limited EHR reports but an abundance of EPM reports.

NextGen has grown in functionality and reliability over our years of use.

Pros

The system is highly customizable for different specialties and the robust training covers all the necessary areas for users.

Cons

While it can be resource-intensive and requires attention to best practices the customer support excels at diagnosing issues and providing guidance to enhance performance.

Constantly improving

Pros

The ability to customize the system is great allowing us to make necessary changes. The PM portion is particularly impressive.

Cons

It's bothersome that many options in the software are pop-ups and reporting relies heavily on SWL.

Pros

The software's ease of use makes it ideal for training new employees and quick adoption by others.

Cons

Currently I don't have any negatives. Previously it was challenging to reach a support person but that has been resolved and now it's effortless with our dedicated support personnel.

Nextgen has been a Great overall Solution for our ophthalmology clinic.

Pros

The PM side of the system is robust and now the EHR side efficiently handles the volume of patients we see.

Cons

Simplifying customizations for the EHR product would be beneficial. More frequent upgrades with comprehensive training would also be desirable.

The autoflow process is highly beneficial for our front desk staff and the enhanced forms enable us to customize and improve efficiency.

Overall our experience has been positive. Much like any EMR we have some issues.

Pros

The practice management side is easy to use and the overall flow in the EHR side works well. NextGen's commitment to improvement and support is commendable.

Cons

Provider charting can be cumbersome initially but new solutions have significantly improved the experience.

Excellent support for any questions or concerns I have

Pros

NextGen has implemented a new success community that offers easy access for questions and their assistance with MACRA/MIPS regulatory inquiries is excellent.

Cons

NextGen lacked spell check in the system which was a long-standing complaint from our providers. However the recently released version now includes spell check.

Pros

Cons

The implementation teams customer service and support teams are very robust

Pros

The availability of various platforms and the ability to interface with other products is appreciated. The support and training provided are outstanding. While the reporting capabilities are powerful retrieving data requires specific queries. NextGen's focus on compliance and regulatory updates is commendable.

Cons

Pricing is a concern as well as the reliance on external vendors instead of developing certain features in-house. For example the HQM should have a platform within NextGen instead of partnering with another vendor.

Initial training was not good but it's easy to use. Accessible anywhere at anytime.

Pros

Real-time features dashboards patient portal cloud-based software and efficient billing statement printing and payment receipt contribute to a great user experience.

Cons

Initial set-up and training availability were not satisfactory and not all information transferred during the import process.

Our current software is outdated for our practice's needs and NextGen offers all the necessary options for our facility.

Cons

Pros

The integration of EHR and EDR has made working in the system effortless thanks to its simplicity of use.

Cons

There are many components to set up but that's what makes it beneficial. However we are only four months into using it.

Great way to capture client encounters!

Pros

The system is highly customizable and user-friendly allowing our specialty to easily navigate encounters and submit billing. The intuitive nature of the system and the custom content we developed greatly assist us in this process.

Cons

Archiving capabilities are lacking especially for charts with numerous encounters. Reaching a high threshold can cause individual charts to slow down.
