NextGen is making a lot of improvements implementing them can be difficult.

Pros

The software allows us to implement specific changes tailored to our needs. Recent acquisitions align with industry trends and support streamlined provider documentation.

Cons

Upgrades are unreliable requiring extensive testing issue reporting and bug fixing. Analysts often lack knowledge about how their component integrates with others resulting in siloed teams.

Experience with Nextgen EHR and PM

Pros

It is ideal for startups with numerous options and the ability to interface with external vendors for practice customization.

Cons

The user-friendliness and programming capabilities need improvement such as incorporating multi-select and intellisense search. The abundance of options and the dependency on NextGen's customer service for tasks like back-end cleanups can be challenging.

The 5.9/8.4 version templates are more user friendly. The spell check is popular with our providers

Pros

The customer support is exceptional with prompt and knowledgeable responses. They ensure that all questions and issues are addressed.

Cons

The least favorable aspect is that some fixes are only available in the next update or considered an enhancement for future releases.

very user friendly. NextGEn has been a wonderful asset to our enterprise. As a trainer excellent.

Pros

It is very easy to train others to use and providers find it simpler than our previous system. The enterprise use of charts for patient care is appreciated.

Cons

Some providers find the excessive clicking in certain templates cumbersome. The inability to edit alerts for No Show appointments is also a concern.

Easy to custom the system to your needs

Pros

Building and customizing reports is effortless. The added bonus is the ability to set up the system independently instead of relying on others.

Cons

The software often requires too many clicks to access the desired information and the limited customization options contribute to this issue.

The integration and use of the systems are excellent.

Pros

It is easy to learn and use even for someone without a clinical background. I have mastered the practice management aspect and have helped other clinics with training using NextGen's best practices.

Cons

Overall there are few drawbacks to the product. If any issues arise contacting support leads to prompt resolution with ticket response typically taking just a couple of hours.

NextGen Review

Pros

I appreciate the seamless flow between the EHR and PM functions. Setting favorites for providers and accepting charges in PM is simple.

Cons

The abundance of clicking in different areas is disliked and it would be preferable if encounter notes were visible on the transaction side without the need to navigate to a separate notes tab.

Im a healthcare provider. It has become easier to navigate with the support and training

Pros

The software offers easy navigation e-prescriptions templates and a medication module. As a family care provider I can create templates use favorite phrases and save assessments for efficient chart completion.

Cons

The medication module diagnostic tests labs plan and office procedures are too broad and complex making it time-consuming to find specific items.

Improving - keep it up

Pros

The cost is reasonable but regardless of additional purchases our workflow hasn't improved. We need a solution that minimizes excessive clicks.

Cons

The process of generating templates saving/generating documents and the lack of spell check can be quite cumbersome. It would greatly improve usability if the system had an auto-save feature with built-in spell check. Additionally implementing a keyboard shortcut like F8 for easier navigation would enhance the user experience. Many users find the system challenging to teach to new staff and there have been requests to explore alternative systems. Furthermore it would be helpful to include nursing staff as users allowing them to create encounters under their own profiles.

The system is very easy to maneuver it is quick and it is efficient and effective.

Pros

The program's utilization icons and user-friendliness are commendable. It caters to both technologically savvy and less tech-savvy individuals.

Cons

Depending on the file size downloading can be slow potentially attributed to larger files. It would be beneficial to have the option to include session location as an additional feature enhancing the overall experience.

NextGen is the most user-friendly EHR I have supported. I'm currently supporting two EHRs

Pros

It is user-friendly featuring a pleasant user interface. The commitment to constant improvement innovation and adherence to industry guidelines is impressive. Their expertise with CHC/FQHC is notable.

Cons

Reporting functionality requires the use of a third-party application to obtain proper reporting which is vital for FQHCs reporting to multiple entities.

We use EDR/EPM and it has helped alleviate all of our paper charts which has been piling up.

Pros

The recall tracking in EPM is excellent as it automatically generates reminders for patient appointments. EDR has significantly improved efficiency by eliminating paper charts and enabling faster provider charting.

Cons

EDR lacks the ability to retrieve patient estimates for those with private insurance resulting in manual calculations that take 5-7 minutes for assistants.
