NextGen has greatly improved in the past few years. Much better customer support and ease of use.

Pros

It is easy to use and train others on. The ability to customize templates to better suit our needs is highly valued. Users including providers find it relatively easy to learn.

Cons

Tracking lab test results and non-finished labs is difficult and there is room for improvement in reporting capabilities.

Usually receive same day or next day response when entering a support ticket for HQM

Pros

The software is intuitive and can be customized to align with our workflows. We appreciate the comprehensive updates provided during UGM.

Cons

There is a need for better integration between system templates to reduce the redundant entering and leaving of multiple templates aiming for a more efficient workflow.

NextGen is the most user-friendly EHR I have supported. I'm currently supporting two EHRs

Pros

It is user-friendly featuring a pleasant user interface. The commitment to constant improvement innovation and adherence to industry guidelines is impressive. Their expertise with CHC/FQHC is notable.

Cons

Reporting functionality requires the use of a third-party application to obtain proper reporting which is vital for FQHCs reporting to multiple entities.

We use EDR/EPM and it has helped alleviate all of our paper charts which has been piling up.

Pros

The recall tracking in EPM is excellent as it automatically generates reminders for patient appointments. EDR has significantly improved efficiency by eliminating paper charts and enabling faster provider charting.

Cons

EDR lacks the ability to retrieve patient estimates for those with private insurance resulting in manual calculations that take 5-7 minutes for assistants.

Excellent

Pros

Accessing information in different templates is effortless. Generating documents and capturing MIPS/MU data is seamless. The customer service support is exceptional.

I have been using Next Gen PM for 17 years and and have been 100% satisfied

Pros

NextGen is extremely user-friendly with knowledgeable customer service. The detailed reporting feature is crucial for my role and NextGen excels in that aspect. The staff finds the auto flow process easy to follow.

Cons

As the saying goes you get what you pay for and NextGen is slightly more expensive than other software options. Unfortunately when upgrading electronic health records template changes need to be re-entered which can be extremely time-consuming.

Pros

The software is easy to use offering multiple methods to accomplish tasks based on different workflows. The ability to customize reports is appreciated.

We use PM and EHR. The integration between the two is fabulous!!

Pros

The claim edits and wide range of customization options in file maintenance are impressive. The integration with the clearinghouse including NextGen's own Viatrack is advantageous.

Cons

The system requires too many clicks and there is a need for more tabbing and hotkey options. Improvements are needed to make patient chart navigation smoother in the practice management module reducing the need for jumping between screens.

Easy to add additional templates. Upgrades are a lot of work though.

Pros

The ability to modify and add templates along with NextGen's wide range of documentation resources (videos white papers and how-tos) and user group information sharing are noteworthy.

Cons

Upgrades are time-consuming and tedious. Providers express frustration with the number of clicks required. From an IT perspective as someone who supports trains and installs upgrades I generally like this software.

long time user You must learn the system or will be lost

Pros

The attention to detail and the company's willingness to upgrade are appreciated although this question requires extensive typing.

Cons

Unforeseen changes mostly occurring during upgrades are disliked as they can disrupt workflows without prior notice. I apologize for the word count limitation of my response.

My experience with the software has been good. Needs to be more intuitive without the added costs.

Pros

The software's interface capabilities and consistent provision of additional solutions are beneficial despite potential additional costs.

Cons

Known issues sometimes receive slow responses and resolutions from support resulting in delays. While additional solutions are appreciated many should be provided without additional fees.
