“I like the system it seems hard at first for dental users then you learn it quickly and becomes easy
Pros
The workflow and customizable categories in the appointment book are appreciated. It's beneficial to assign different colors to different providers. Additionally printing patient labels for next visit cards is a useful feature.
Cons
When using the software for booking there should be a way to identify different locations. The system is not well-suited for dental treatment plans making them more time-consuming or requiring extensive setup.

Pros
The software is easy to navigate and continually improves with each upgrade. Being part of the practice since its inception I have witnessed the progress firsthand.
Cons
Hearing the statement "It's a known issue" often indicates that issues take too long to resolve some of which directly impact patient care.

“Partnership is getting better each year. The last two years has really shown positive improvement
Pros
The flexibility to create our own EHR templates and incorporate in-house web apps is highly valuable. Regular meetings with account representatives and easy access to support have been wonderful during the implementation across our 800 offices.
Cons
The auditing of user actions and modules needs improvement. Creating security groups to restrict user modification access is not available in all necessary areas leading to frustration especially in system administration.

“I am new to Nextgen but I have had full support fir my appointed team in teaching me to navigate
Pros
The alerts that identify highlighted issues on accounts are helpful in better managing client accounts.
Cons
Certain aspects of the software should be more user-friendly. It would be helpful if the help menu was easier to understand and navigate narrowing down to specific questions.

“We have been on Nextgen since 3009. We are a pain specialty. We had MAPS templates for paincare we
Pros
The software's customization capabilities are impressive particularly for our specialty practice. It allows us to capture important data beyond PCP records. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming upgrade which will integrate the prescription report and provide easy access to lab results. Ensuring patient safety and preventing misuse of medications is a priority for us and NextGen's customizable templates and documents make it easy to meet our needs. The support provided by NextGen is helpful and we appreciate the resources they offer to become experts in their system. The hosting process is straightforward and we expect a smooth transition within 30-45 days. The software's user-friendly interface has undergone significant improvements with easy access to data at a glance through intuitive shortcuts. The addition of patient education and clinical reconciliation features has been beneficial as well. We are excited about the future of paincare and the continued integration between the EHR and EPM as well as the ability to interface with labs and HIE. Capturing data for MIPS reporting is made easy and the software offers access to websites for further expertise. The help desk is transparent about their knowledge and readily directs users to the right resources. Overall the software's customizable nature support and continuous enhancements make it a valuable tool for our practice.
Cons
Simplifying the upgrade process would be desirable. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the system.

“Always entering tickets and waiting
Pros
There are multiple areas within NextGen to enter data. The ability to create and use templates is appreciated as is the drug reconciliation feature. On the PM side the reporting and flexibility are valued. Task management is also useful and could be implemented further. Improving file maintenance would be helpful for review and continuous updates.
Cons
Due to the complexity of the workflow in various areas the system does not always function smoothly. To support clients offering more training and best practices would be beneficial for issue resolution.

“I manage Behavioral Health in primary care at an FQHC
Pros
The fact that a majority of FQHCs use the software helps establish a common language among other BH programs.
Cons
The difficulty in customizing the software and the loss of customizations during upgrades are major drawbacks. Having used NextGen at three FQHCs I have consistently faced challenges in getting my customizations accepted.

“an easy transition and flow
Pros

“Used by our FQHC. Lots of clicks but seems to be improving.
Pros
The ability to save exam templates and phrases send them directly to the patient portal and various workflow options are notable features.
Cons
There are numerous clicks required and the separation of history from the SOAP note necessitates switching between windows during documentation. Tasking for handcuffs is fast and convenient but telephone tasking (which becomes part of the patient chart) is more cumbersome.
