“Really, can't we get the physician interface beyond Windows 95?
Pros
The software generally starts up smoothly each morning.
Cons
The physician interface is subpar, requiring numerous clicks and the use of subordinate windows for patient interactions. The software design feels clunky, and there are ongoing expensive charges for updates and addons.

“Not bad but it had to grow on me
Pros
Billing chart entry becomes manageable with time and charge entry provides a step-by-step approach.
Cons
The customer service experience was suboptimal particularly during deployment. Restrictions on database customization were limiting and support for initial office setup was lacking.

“Good Filters
Pros
The filtering options, allowing for precise lead characteristics selection, are valuable. Choosing lead types like shared or exclusive leads has benefits, with exclusive leads being less inundated with phone call propositions.
Cons
The entered lead features sometimes do not match the received leads, such as household income accuracy. Lack of reimbursement for incorrect lead contact information can result in financial losses.

“NextGen review
Pros
The software boasts a simple user interface and avoids unnecessary features.
Cons
A minor inconvenience is the need to manually click in the username/password areas during startup rather than having the cursor autopopulate them.

“A business platform with a lot of potential
Pros
This system serves as a powerful, all-in-one hub for our core operations. It excels at launching administrative workflows, providing real-time asset tracking, and building detailed support processes. I rely on it for a wide range of critical tasks: managing encrypted data, tweaking sales settings, overseeing HR records, and creating custom purchasing flows. Its robust budgeting and inventory tools provide valuable insights, and it effectively digitizes projects for accurate sales support and billing
Cons
It struggles significantly with technical reliability during collaborative, data-heavy operations. Its underlying architecture seems to falter when handling large volumes of source metadata, causing delays in saving data to our cloud and failures in downloads and storage integrations. These issues, which appear linked to features like password autosave and support checks, actively harm our asset management. As a result, I frequently have to intervene to manually correct and moderate information flow, requiring extra maintenance before the system stabilizes.

“Pros and Cons
Pros
The software is used daily, and although the PM side can be challenging, the EHR side is wellreceived by staff and doctors. The scheduler is easy to read, and billing offers extensive tracking options.
Cons
Billing can be cumbersome, requiring multiple steps for payment corrections. Transitioning from keyboard to mouse for various tasks can disrupt workflow.

“4-year-old billing sorting bug cripples our daily workflow
Pros
I am impressed by how NextGen ties together every piece of a patient's record. I can navigate from encounter notes straight to claims, insurance details and more without juggling multiple systems which really streamlines my workflow.
Cons
My only real complaint concerns the sorting on the Secondary Billing list. This has been a known problem for at least four years as the list simply won't sort correctly and it significantly disrupts my work. I wish they'd address it right away but the company treats it as a low priority while we feel the opposite. They don't seem to understand how much slower this makes us, given the large number of claims our practice handles. Because of that high volume, the inefficient sorting creates constant bottlenecks and wastes a lot of time every day.

“An amateurish and unusable system
Pros
there wasn't any in-person training and it genuinely wasn't even offered... really at all.
Cons
There's no way to cc a provider. Seriously. In my experience every professional medical note I have ever worked with allows copying another provider and that's a basic medico-legal necessity. I'd recommend adding a cc feature so you can copy the referring provider, a consultant or another relevant party on the note, just like an email. I cannot order DME supplies. It's astonishing this hasn't been addressed. The suggested workaround was to create a Consultation. So I am supposed to Consult just to order a CPAP mask? Really. I am not sure how many neurologists use this platform and the neurologic exam is varied and complex but large sections of it cannot be documented in this system at all geghenhalten, cogwheel rigidity, turning en bloc, gait apraxia, shuffling gait, spontaneous retropulsion, sensory ataxic gait, pronation, drift, internuclear ophthalmoplegia, astasia/abasia, transcortical aphasia and I could go on and on. Being able to record a clinician's primary exam seems like a fundamental EMR requirement. When I order an in-house procedure to be scheduled it posts the charge into procedure coding exactly the same way as completed procedure documentation which is illogical and creates extra work to reverse billing that should never have been posted. Billing a procedure when it is performed is correct but billing it when merely ordered for scheduling is wrong and potentially illegal. There is no database of specialty labs that a neurologist would use for, let's say, MS, NMO or MG and those panels cannot be added. So let's see. I cannot properly document my exam, I cannot order DME, I cannot order a special lab without having to go into the backend and undo billing for something that hasn't even been scheduled and I cannot cc my referring providers. Wow this system feels amateurish and absolutely not ready for prime time.

“NextGen is not user friendly
Pros
The layout is somewhat legible, and there are instances where clicking on a box provides instant access to various options, although customization can be cumbersome.
Cons
Excessive tabs, scrolling, and buttonclicking make exam chart completion timeconsuming. The systems layout design is inefficient in utilizing monitor real estate.
