“excellent training and rollout”
Pros
Even though we haven't gone live yet the training has been excellent and everything seems set up to go well once we launch.
Cons
Nothing to complain about yet. We'll see how it goes once we're live.

“simple setup and patient entry”
Pros
Getting started was very simple even with only basic computer skills. Entering patients, adding their insurance details and uploading documents was simple to follow.
Cons
In the notes tab, I'd like an option to arrange the lines in a better order so it's easier to read overall and keeps things more clearly separated.

“clean screens layout”
Pros
the simplicity of the system stands out. It's customizable, most of the features feel simple and quick to pick up and the screens are clean and simple to navigate.
Cons
Every now and then it freezes badly enough that the computer has to be restarted. Since it runs on Java, it also needs to be reset whenever there's a Java update. The live training felt like a waste of both time and money and the advertised pricing only seems to apply to new customers so the renewal jump can be pretty significant.

“user-friendly claims and billing”
Pros
Right from the start the software feels very user friendly. Creating claims is simple and it catches billing errors while also scrubbing each claim before submission to insurance carriers.

“could be better”
Pros
Scheduling is simple to manage and the reminder texts and phone calls are helpful. The note system is simple to work with and reviewing or printing statements doesn't take much effort.
Cons
Handling separate cases for insurance, self-pay and auto can be frustrating. There seems to be an extra charge for every little feature and getting answers to questions isn't always prompt. It's also limiting that patients can only be searched by last name and the text reminder messages feel too generic.

“handy mobile scheduling”
Pros
Using it is simple and being able to access it from a phone makes it very convenient. That convenience is exactly why we chose it instead of sticking with a paper appointment book.
Cons
pricing feels a bit high for a web-based system. Because of the cost, we only end up using two of its features.

“good ehr and pm value”
Pros
After comparing a lot of options, this one ended up being the best-priced choice. Getting the EHR and PM together in one bundle was a big plus for that cost even though billing wasn't included. The sales team was also excellent.. they really understood our business and explained how the software would fit our specific needs.
Cons
The weak point came after the sale. Implementation was not very good and customer support afterward was disappointing. The sales team had been very knowledgeable about our specific line of business but that level of understanding didn't carry over once we moved into the implementation phase.

“Frustrating setup delays”
Pros
The layout is very clean and simple. Moving from one task to the next feels natural and it doesn't take many clicks to get things done which makes the system simple to work with.
Cons
Customer support has been disappointing especially during setup and when dealing with the EDI team. Communication on their side has been poor and getting the system fully up and running can take months while you are still paying for a service you may not even be able to use yet. We are in the middle of a transition and bringing on several new providers but we have been paying for the billing service without actually being able to use it. Right now, we have to enter claims in both Availity and NueMD just so we can track payments when they come in which creates twice the work. At this point we are pricing out other systems and thinking seriously about switching companies. Anyone considering this should be prepared to spend a lot of time trying to reach the EDI department and following up constantly just to move things forward. Training has also been unreliable. Having worked with other EHR systems before, this one is something you can mostly figure out on your own if you have prior experience. Even so, we ran into problems with the trainer not calling on scheduled training days and not following through when support was needed.

“fast claims, excellent reports”
Pros
Sending medical claims is very simple and getting ERAs back makes posting simple as well. The reporting options are really impressive and provide a lot of useful information.
Cons
The biggest frustration is the delay between receiving information and being able to post the money. I'd prefer to apply payments right away as soon as the ERAs come in.

“reliable tools”
Pros
It feels professional and support is there whenever it's needed. I especially love eScript, the built-in suggestions and the live help when questions come up.
Cons
Every now and then it has issues with Java and goes down. When that happens, it needs to be reloaded and downloaded again which takes extra time.

“Simple scheduling for every provider”
Pros
Right from the first day, NueMD felt very simple to navigate. We run a multi-disciplinary clinic and it does a really good job supporting the workflow and needs of each specialty. One of the most helpful parts is being able to view every provider's schedule across the clinic at a single glance.
Cons
One issue is that NueMD does not appear to auto-refresh so I have to keep hitting the Refresh button to catch schedule updates made by the front desk. It also doesn't support double-booking two patients at the same time for one provider. When that happens, the front desk has to place one patient into a different 15-minute slot which can sometimes create confusion about the patient's actual appointment time.

“Full schedule in one view”
Pros
Being able to see the entire schedule all at once is really helpful. It's much better than having different departments split across separate screens.
Cons
My only real frustration is that I have to sign in every time I want to check the schedule. I'd rather have the scheduler stay open for as long as I'm logged in. Since I step away and come back throughout the day to look for updates, having to log back in each time gets annoying.

“all schedules in one place”
Pros
Having every practitioner's schedule visible at once is a huge plus instead of needing to search each person separately. The app is also really helpful for checking my own schedule and my coworkers' upcoming days.
Cons
The only thing that comes to mind is that it doesn't allow double-booking time slots but honestly that's barely even a real complaint.

“responsive support and flexible features”
Pros
One thing that really stands out is the customer service. They respond to questions and problems quickly and the answers are usually accurate and helpful. It's been a pleasure working with their team. The software also offers a wide range of features so you can either use what's already there or tailor parts of it to better fit your specific needs.
Cons
There are still a few bugs that could be cleaned up although the product does seem to keep getting better when feedback is provided. I'd also like to see certain insurance-related details brought together on a single screen, such as having the date of birth displayed on the same page as the insurance plans and policy numbers.

“quick to learn and navigate”
Pros
Getting around NueMD feels very simple and the layout is simple to follow. Learning the program didn't take much time at all and it seems like just about anyone could pick up how to use it pretty quickly.
Cons
The only downside that comes to mind is that the schedule doesn't refresh automatically and it would be much more helpful if that happened on its own.

“accomodating support”
Pros
The program's functionality and user-friendly layout stood out. My staff didn't need any of the training NueMD offered because the system was so simple to learn on their own. Whenever a question does come up, my trainer responds quickly and gives clear instructions. It's also really helpful to have multiple provider columns and let each user manage their own individual view.
Cons
If I had to point to one thing, it would be the reminder feature. I'd love to see the system automatically send a reminder for a patient's first appointment when they're scheduled for multiple therapies.

“Support fell off”
Pros
About a year ago customer support was excellent and their team responded quickly making the setup process fast and smooth.
Cons
When I tried to add an account for a doctor, I spent about a month dealing with issues and couldn't get anyone to return my calls. It seems like their staff may have changed because the customer service has become very poor. I had to keep calling and complaining several times before someone finally got back to me and fixed the problem.

“fair pricing”
Pros
NueMD has a clean interface and the pricing feels reasonable which makes it a solid option worth considering overall.
