EASY training

Pros

It's amazing how well the system carries information forward to the next screen once it's been saved. It's also convenient that you can pause while entering patient details, save your work, jump to the top to add new insurance information for the facility and then return right to the same page without losing your place. The software is simple to pick up and the training sessions are very helpful. They also provide step-by-step guides that make the setup process much easier when you're getting started.

Cons

My only real complaint is with searching dx codes. If you enter only partial information, it doesn't always bring up the right code and sometimes the diagnosis has to be phrased very specifically for a code to appear if it isn't already saved in your settings. It would be much more helpful if there were an encoder included to assist with edits as well.

held my billing data hostage

Pros

It cost a bit less than some other options, they mailed statements every month like they said they would and the checks were deposited directly into the bank.

Cons

After I stopped using their service and the 90 days had passed, I needed the rest of my data so my new billing company could keep collecting on unpaid accounts. Instead of just sending the disc with my account information, they demanded even more money before releasing it which felt like extortion.

Top-notch software & support

Pros

It is user-friendly and easy to use, and submitting claims is really simple.

Cons

I have encountered numerous issues with customer service. They do not address the problems, and the system often freezes.

flexible templates and attentive staff

Pros

One of the biggest advantages is how customizable the system is. You can build whatever templates you need and they give you access to a large amount of public data, lists and current information that really helps during setup. As you start implementing it, little adjustments always come up and their team is very quick and responsive when it comes to making those changes so your workflow fits better. Even if you prepare a lot and do all the reading you can, there are still things you just won't know until you're actually using it so having a product that isn't rigidly structured is a huge benefit. On top of that, the staff at every level has been responsive and excellent to work with.

Cons

At the moment, there isn't any video telemedicine functionality. Some parts of the navigation also weren't as simple as I expected in the beginning although it didn't take long to learn.

Fails on claims

Pros

At first glance the software seemed simple to use. It had a clean, appealing look and the demo made everything appear very simple and user-friendly.

Cons

We were looking for a new Medicare portal and their software certainly looked polished. They told us it would be a breeze to work with. We also wanted to handle billing with our own staff instead of relying on their team and they assured us that would not be a problem. Once training started though, it became obvious they were not nearly as knowledgeable about DME billing as they had claimed. My staff kept saying they were spending more time teaching their team than actually being trained themselves. We submitted our first 10 claims, then another 10 and then 10 more. Every single one was rejected. They did not seem to understand why and now two months later, I still do not have even one paid claim.

helpful support and better reporting

Pros

Right from the call the customer support representative was exceptionally helpful while assisting me with enrolling a new physician in our practice. She took the time to work through everything with me, never made me feel rushed and was very knowledgeable about every topic we discussed. I'm hoping everything is fully resolved now but if any issues come up later, I'd definitely want her handling my support again. I've also had a very positive experience with another representative in the EDI department, who has been excellent to work with as well.

Cons

Reporting based on certain criteria used to be a problem but there have been improvements and it works better for our practice now.

poor edi enrollment support

Pros

The system is somewhat simple to navigate but it makes no sense that pages need to be refreshed constantly even the first time opening a section.

Cons

There was absolutely no follow-up on the EDI enrollment. They never submitted the Medicare EDI enrollment in the first place and we had to contact Medicare ourselves just to check the status. That's how we found out nothing had been sent. After that, we still had to push NueMD to submit the enrollment and get everything arranged even though that should have been handled by their team, not ours.

user-friendly setup and templates

Pros

Getting started with this system was one of the biggest positives. The customer representative was very helpful and made the whole setup process feel simple. We were also able to use our own forms to create templates which has made record keeping much more user friendly.

Cons

At this point I really do not have any major issues to mention. If I had to point out one small downside, it would be the slight delay that happens each time I sign in.

Useful reporting

Pros

Our account manager has been excellent.. always on top of things and clearly understands what needs attention first.

Cons

The mobile app is still pretty limited in what it can do. For instance, it doesn't let you adjust the schedule or take payment for more than a single unit.

all-in-one workflow win

Pros

Having everything in one place makes a huge difference. With just a few clicks, I can create a patient profile, handle billing, post payments, check eligibility, schedule appointments and set up patient reminders. NueMD feels incredibly user-friendly and it really seems like the possibilities with the software are endless and impressive.

helpful training and strong support

Pros

Switching our billing in-house felt a lot less overwhelming because the training and support from NueMD really helped with the transition. Their team made sure our accounts were set up properly and guided us through each step along the way. If you're unsure about handling this on your own, I definitely recommend paying for the training. They gave us a workbook and held weekly training sessions which really helped set us up for success.

Cons

A few additional reports would be really useful especially now that we're dealing with QPP. I'd love to see an option to print patient address labels, along with a report that connects encounters, diagnosis codes, patient names and our Practice Fusion chart number. We're currently working with a Qualified Registry and they need that kind of data pulled for quality measures.

Billing works wonderfully

Pros

The system is very user-friendly and the billing side of it works really well. Pulling tickets is also simple and convenient. I honestly do not have much more to add beyond that.

Cons

Customer support has been terrible. I have called and emailed multiple times and still have not gotten a response. When I first signed on with NueMD, they were fantastic and seemed to genuinely care about helping a new client. Now it feels like because I am a small business owner with only four providers on the platform, my business is no longer a priority. Once my contracts end, I will be moving to another company.

affordable billing help

Pros

Getting started with it has been really simple which has mattered a lot since I'm a solo provider still learning how billing works. Once I mentioned I was feeling overwhelmed by the number of claims I was processing, they offered the option to have their team handle the submissions for me instead. That support has been incredibly helpful and the cost is very reasonable.

Cons

My only real wish is that it were cloud-based. I'm constantly on the move and don't always have my laptop with me and since I travel between different practice locations, being able to access it through a cloud solution would be a huge benefit.

fast claims and friendly training

Pros

The system is very user friendly and we were able to begin transmitting claims within just a few days. Even Medicare which can sometimes take up to 30 days for approval, was ready for transmission in less than 10 days. We also started receiving ERA payments within 10 days of sending out billing. After 30 years in this business, I can honestly say this has been the most smooth transition I have ever had when it comes to setup and billing with no problems at all. The training was clear, friendly and well handled. I was especially impressed that each department really knew their area of expertise and the introduction and welcome process was excellent. The Nuebie Notes were also a very helpful touch in case anything from training needed a quick refresher.

Cons

At this point I really have not run into any downsides. I am very happy with everything overall. If I had to mention one thing, it would only be that I wish I had come across this company much sooner.

user-friendly billing access

Pros

Getting comfortable with this system didn't take long at all. It's simple to learn, simple to use and easy to move through. We rely on it for our billing company and our doctors can log in anytime to check the status of their accounts which saves everyone a lot of time. Another big plus is the support link.. if a question or issue comes up, we can start a chat right away and get help immediately.

Cons

Creating specialized reports can be a bit confusing but the support team is fantastic and always available to help.
