Pros
The team members at PIMSY are friendly and make a sincere effort to fix any issues and provide what we need. The issues are not with the PIMSY staff but with the product itself. We are a very large group, and it seems the product is not as reception-friendly and is missing key elements that the business office staff could really benefit from.
Cons
I work in the business office doing denials, and I need to refile claims to paper for many different reasons all week long. I cannot print a claim-HCFA-form. I have to type them by hand. This means I have to look up the address for the insurance company, toggle back and forth for patient info, etc. When I go back and forth, the system will not allow me to continue typing on that line , I have to skip the line I am on and return to it before it will allow me to continue typing. There were many things about our old system that automatically populated in, but not with PIMSY. This drives me nuts!

“Daily work use for well over 1 year doing scheduling and note keeping”
Pros
There is not much I like. The back-end billing function for third-party payers is okay, but other billing processes, like product sales, our EAP program services, workers' compensation clients, and consulting services, are needlessly cumbersome. This has resulted in us using a different billing system, causing other inconveniences and inefficiencies. Others using this for scheduling have had a similar experience.
Cons
At purchase, I was promised an electronic transfer of the existing client base. Then I was told it would create so many problems that it would be better to hand-enter all existing clients, which number in the thousands and cost us both time and money. Attempts to fix bugs, of which there are many, are typically ignored. Some bugs include the program occasionally trying to force scheduling of clients on a weekly basis, when entering more than one diagnostic code, much of the time, one or more codes do not enter on the first try, requiring reopening the function and starting over; the calendar change is slow and inconsistent, often jumping over months. The program is very slow - often slower with each upgrade as they add code. Occasionally, the changes limit functions, requiring us to use workaround practices - for example, we are unable to schedule groups efficiently.

If my secondary insurance changes, I only have to change that one, not both the primary and secondary.
Cons
I find that it takes too long when scheduling patients, and there needs to be some kind of notification on the calendar side if there are important notes on the account. I also notice that it doesn't track authorizations well at all. While some aspects are great, there are definitely areas that need work.

“EHR Admin and Project Manager for PIMSY Roll Out”
Pros
Working with Adam Lowell of Maine Technology Group and all the amazing people at PIMSY has been a life-changing experience for me. If you are considering an EHR system and are a little nervous, PIMSY's support team is second to none. One of the greatest elements about PIMSY's EHR system is the ability to customize. My company has made countless special requests, and Adam and the PIMSY team have listened to our needs and worked through solutions with us every step of the way. Adam even set up catering at a local restaurant for our entire staff! Kim Gordon did a fantastic job training our Champions and Superusers, and actually stayed on the phone as a resource during our internal staff training. I also personally met with Marisa Thompson from PIMSY on a weekly basis; the individual attention really made troubleshooting issues so much easier. To Adam and everyone at PIMSY, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Cons
The setup time required to be extensive. Setting up all clients with diagnosis codes, billing codes, and authorizations takes more time than I expected, though it is not overly burdensome.

Pros
The best thing about the product and the vendor is the team that makes up PIMSY. No software is perfect, but PIMSY and its support staff make great strides toward perfection. I cannot say enough about how robust this EMR is and how this software grows as I grow. My facility probably utilizes only 10 percent of the software, and just that 10 percent alone accommodates a facility of 296 clients, 17 clinicians, and 2 administrative staff members. Despite our small size, the staff and support team always treated us like a large corporation, which is amazing. THANK YOU.
Cons
What I like the least about the software is the speed, such as page transitions, and the fact that PIMSY is only Windows-based, requiring me to purchase Parallels to make it work on Macs.

“PIMSY is an Excellent EHR Option”
Pros
When I began searching for an EHR, I wanted one that was logical in its layout and visually easy to navigate. PIMSY really stood out in this area and had more features than any other EHR in its price range. I explored many EHR options over the course of a year and confidently selected PIMSY at the end of my vetting process. PIMSY is very well integrated, bringing together the essential modules and components of a diverse practice into one streamlined interface. Our agency researched our options for over a year, and after serious deliberation, we chose PIMSY and are very pleased with our choice. I want to emphasize that not only is the product a superior value, but the staff and customer support have been truly outstanding. The company is also committed to constant improvement and periodically offers software updates based on user feedback. Their willingness to listen to customers' needs and craft solutions based on that input is a real asset.
Cons
PIMSY is an excellent program and I really don't have any cons. Maybe the only thing would be an easier downloading procedure than copying and pasting the security key and web URL.

“Would recommend that you keep looking at other software”
Pros
The staff at PIMSY are nice people, but I found the product very time-consuming and clumsy to navigate between screens. The nurses hated the med prescription section, and the accounting integration was terrible. Despite having a dedicated IT team and seasoned clinicians and nurses, the system was universally disliked. We had to cut our losses with this system and move to another vendor. I am very happy with the move and feel light years ahead of where we were.
Cons
Sometimes it runs slowly if I'm doing a lot, and there are still little glitches that need to be worked out to help with ease of use.

“A complete EMR at an affordable price for any size practice”

PIMSY offers a complete EMR and practice management system that is sufficiently customizable, easy to use, and affordable for both the individual practitioner and large practice. The customer service team is always responsive and helpful, adapting the goals for future upgrades to the needs of the user. When looking for a new EMR, I sought something I could grow into and that was affordable for my start-up practice, but complete enough to meet my needs for addressing both medical records management and practice management. PIMSY fit that bill, and I have never regretted my choice.
Cons
My staff continues to wait for a scheduling component, and I find group notes somewhat difficult to navigate.

Pros
I find the system very robust with a lot of great features and the ability for customization (done internally or with PIMSY's help). System improvements from the company have made it even easier to use for any level of tech experience. The customer support is outstanding, with great response times, they make me feel like one of the team!
Cons
I find the way the scanned documents are stored and organized isn't ideal. PIMSY suggested another vendor for a program that can be integrated with it. This add-on has the ability to OCR documents, search by keyword and other metadata, and has an easier coding process. They also have excellent customer support.

“Easy, affordable and great customer support team!”
Pros
I had a billing agent who used to handle our billing with a separate system for our documentation. Our billing staff used to spend hours on billing, but PIMSY made it easy for both our billing staff, case managers, and counselors. We now do both our billing and documentation in PIMSY, which has made our work easier. PIMSY is not a complicated software, once set up and trained, we were good to go. The customer support team is great; they work with us anytime, even evenings and weekends.
Cons
The only con I can think of is that I don't have enough available time to fully use the system and get more proficient with it.

“From an IT Perspective”
Pros
Our agency moved from another provider to PIMSY in April of 2014. While change is always traumatic for end users, and the time investment in training is unavoidable, the ease of the PIMSY interface was a great benefit. Set-up was simple, and the team at PIMSY walked me through every aspect. Data was transferred from the prior EHR, so we were able to hit the ground running with current information. What I have appreciated most has been the stellar customer service I have received from both the support desk and the developer. As things change, they update the software, providing us with changes and additions we, or others, have requested. We are completely implemented after less than a year. This may sound like a long time, but we had our other EHR for 10 years and were still not doing treatment plans in it. To me, this implementation had its usual stressors but was significantly easier than the two others I have worked on in the past. Training end users has been quick, and most have picked up this new tool easily. Billing has been challenging, as we had some interesting billing goals, and they have worked with us diligently to accomplish those. We have a one-person billing department, so having Ian and Kori available and able to work with us to ensure our needs are met has been invaluable.
Cons
I can't think of any cons; compared to the other medical records systems I had to use previously, PIMSY rocks!

“Great product, excellent customer service!”
Pros
Although I am an employee of PIMSY, I am also a user of the system: we utilize PIMSY for our in-house company management. This means that I interact with the product and our support department like any other client. PIMSY is a great product: it reduces time-consuming tasks to a few button clicks, keeps our company information organized and integrated, and keeps all our data safe and secure on the Cloud, fully HIPAA compliant. One of PIMSY's greatest strengths is the customer service team: they go above and beyond to train and support us. They ensure that we are using PIMSY to its fullest capacity and go the extra mile to answer questions, provide high-level support, and address any concerns we might have. However, PIMSY is an enterprise-level EHR + practice management software integrated into one system, which means it's big and can do a LOT. Therefore, it is not the best fit for small practices (1-5 users). Like any powerful software tool (and any other enterprise-level EHR), PIMSY requires an initial investment of training and setup before it can be fully calibrated for your practice. This initial learning curve is not the best fit for smaller organizations that typically don't have the volume of data and intricate demands on the system that larger agencies do.
Cons
There was no medical "piece" when I arrived, but it is coming together, and the docs have been able to design what we need. I haven't actually used the new medical template live yet.

Over the past two years, I have researched various EHR software to manage our small outpatient mental health practice and found various issues with most of them (e.g., cost, being hostage to a particular Clearinghouse, poor support service, inability to customize software to our particular needs, wants, and accreditation requirements) until now. This program appeared to have been created by someone who shared similar experiences. PIMSY met and exceeded my expectations, it flat out nailed it. It is appropriately priced, with the functions needed to manage our practice. If you are looking for software that will grow as you grow and cater to your business needs, PIMSY is it.

“What a Find!!!”
Pros
Pimsy is a fantastic addition to our company. This program gives me the capability of seeing the clients' charts without having to get a paper file. Everything is right there at my fingertips: assessments, diagnoses, medication, lab results, treatment plans, notes, and much, much more. The support staff is warm and friendly, and they are willing to work with each and every client to improve the system for my practice.
Cons
I find that alerts are separated between communications between staff, and alerts of renewals get lost in the shuffle. Threads are very confusing because they aren't written into the system by administrators. It is slow and not accessible at times, and updates often change things in the system.
