“Was free”
Pros
It's generally easy to use. It has been free up till now. Being cloud-based, I can access it from anywhere, and no in-office hardware is required.
Cons
It was free once. The company was acquired by Allscripts, and they need to recoup their investment. The cost-based model offers minimal new features.

“Good value while it was free, now that it will be cpsting per month, per clinician, we will be leaving”
Pros
There's little lag, a reasonably cohesive interface, and it's easy enough to use once you get over the learning curve.
Cons
Poor support relies on the Practice Fusion community of users to answer questions for each other. No voicemail reminders to patients, difficult to find correct documentation for MIPS, and not notified when info changes. When Practice Fusion was bought out this year, they promised continued commitment to customers, but when they changed their structure to charge per doctor per month, including part-timers, there was no notification. I found the notice in a plain-looking box on their dashboard, which I missed for two weeks. They are giving long-term customers only three months to decide about paying for their subscription or losing functionality. That's not a lot of time to decide or switch EHRs, especially with no communication from them. No ramp-up, no grandfathering, no new features for paying for the same free product, and you still have to pay extra for integrated billing. At this price point, my group now has many more options for fully supported, versatile products. Sometimes how something is done says a lot about how a company views its customers.

“Easily accessed and convenient!”
Pros
It's a quick way to contact your doctor or patient. It also provides easy communication and access to personal records.
Cons
Not too many cons here, but sometimes it takes the office a while to post lab results and things patients are waiting for.

“PRACTICE FUSION IS GREAT!”
Pros
It's easy to work with and learn. It has all the features needed to treat patients and make chart notes.
Cons
The program freezes a lot. There are many updates, so the program goes down often, and when you have patients, you can't work like that.

“I HAVE BEEN USING PRACTICE FUSION FOR APPROXIMATELY 8 YEARS. I FIND IT TO BE VERY USER FRIENDLY.”
Pros
I like the way I can see all the patient's visits without leaving the screen I'm in. The schedule is very easy to use and manage. I love the reports you can print out and how encounters are created and dropped.
Cons
You can only have five patients open at a time. Sometimes I have problems inputting new information.

“Effective Free EHR”
Pros
This is an excellent choice for small independent practices that need to keep overhead low while offering the same features as other EHRs that charge monthly fees. The scheduler sends automatic email reminders.
Cons
When I first requested email support, I got a response within 24 hours. My next two attempts never got replies, though one request directed me to an online pre-determined response that resolved my issue.

“Practice Fusion is so easy to use and I create my own templates that fits my Chiropractic Practice.”
Pros
I love the ease of using this software and the ability to create my own templates. I have been using it for over two years, and it keeps improving. Plus, its complimentary with CMS.
Cons
I understand that information is updated daily, and it is tough for the team to keep the site current. Some clicks still do not lead to the necessary details, but I am sure its on the way!

“User friendly but missing inclusion of LCSW/LMSW as owners of medical practice”
Pros
It's extremely easy to write notes - wonderful prescriber-friendly e-prescribe services. Easy to use without much need for support services, and scheduling is simple to manage.
Cons
There's no button for Social Work. The printouts are restrictive. If a note is generated, you can't always delete it, even if you did not see the patient. If you check them in by mistake and then correct it, the note still exists and cannot be removed.

“Good functionality, although not always intuitive to use”
Pros
This software can be used by providers from various disciplines, such as physicians for charting needs and for psychotherapy notes.
Cons
Some functions aren't easy to understand, like where to click for a specific task. The note-writing window has many sections I do not need but cannot remove, limiting my space. It's designed for a medical practice, not specifically for my therapy needs.

“Practice Fusion Meets my needs”
Pros
The fact that it is free was really helpful when I started out as a part-time solo practitioner. However, I have heard it might not stay free since it was recently bought. There are many pre-made templates, which I do not use as I do not find them useful, but others might. You can create your own templates, which isn't straightforward, but once you get the hang of it, it's a real time-saver. It has an email appointment reminder system and an electronic medication ordering system. There is a way to do electronic billing through PF, but it is not free, and I have not used it. You can also receive labs directly into PF, but again, its not free, and I have not tried it.
Cons
The ads on the pages are frustrating. The typing screen is too small, and the notes section on the Profile Page is also too tiny. There's no text appointment reminder system. My patients cannot figure out the patient portal. I find switching between SOAP tabs tedious, though there might be easier ways, but I have not explored them yet.

“Overall good prouct”
Pros
The ease of use and thoughtful time-saving features help reduce aggravation. It's a well-designed, doctor-friendly product that has smoothed out some wrinkles in the process without users always being aware of the behind-the-scenes effort. It's fast and responsive.
Cons
Government reporting is not inclusive for all specialties. Not all possible MIPS measures are present.

“Practice Fusion was great for our small office”
Pros
Practice Fusion offers custom templates, is easy to learn and use, and made transitioning from paper charts simple. The feature to prescribe medications and look up pharmacy locations is great. Scheduling is much easier than using paper calendars and organizers.
Cons
Occasionally, when I save something, it closes out and does not actually save. It might be a glitch, but losing notes is time-consuming.

“Practice fusion free ehr”
Pros
For a free EHR, it has many functions. It is easy to learn to use. Sharing templates across users is a nice feature.
Cons
My biggest complaint is there is no way to tailor it to mental/behavioral health workflow. It can be adapted with some template development.

“Great Product but could use more features”
Pros
There was a very low learning curve for this product. If you are familiar with Electronic Health Records, you can use this product. Pricing cannot be beaten (free).
Cons
It needs better reporting features for health centers like Federally Qualified Health Centers.

“Poor customer support”
Pros
Free for the provider. Customer service is slow; nobody answers the phone. I have been with PF for many years and am reconsidering continuing.
Cons
Nothing specific. It feels old-fashioned compared to Epic, which I can get for free from my hospital. Many of my friends have switched to other EMRs.

“Initially good. Later, not so much.”
Pros
It's free and quite easy to use. The ads, which seemingly keep it free, aren't particularly bothersome or intrusive.
Cons
Security became too complex. We stopped using the software and switched to another EHR because the security was so complicated that we couldn't log in. After being locked out for several days, we had to switch.

“It seems each upgrade makes the charting harder”
