“Just because it's the best, doesn't mean it's great.”
Pros
This is the best EMR/PM for the industry. DocuTap understands that the overall goal of urgent cares is speed and patient volume, and they designed their interface with that in mind. I haven't seen any EMR better suited for the industry in terms of simplifying the patient check-in process and doing the most with the least amount of information. Additionally, the analytics capabilities are excellent.
Cons
The billing side is extremely buggy. For example, if you have to change the credit card on file for a patient, your entire computer will freeze for two minutes. This isn't a user-specific error; this is common among every DocuTAP user as far as I've heard. There are multiple other bugs with the billing cycle, such as having to reset the payment method for no reason sometimes.

“It is a great EMR, PM management”
Pros
It's user-friendly and can be customized to your business or practice. Customer Support is always available to help you with any problems.
Cons
Update glitches have been the biggest problem we have, but customer service is always on top of it. They usually respond promptly to any problems.

“Not Good For Billing”
Pros
Very user-friendly. Never crashes or freezes. During system maintenance, there's a red banner at the top of the screen letting you know what's being done and why.
Cons
This software isn't good for billing purposes. When putting in notes, anyone can delete your notes. If you have an electronic claim billed to the primary payer and need to route it to the secondary payer, the system will delete your primary payment information before sending the claim to the secondary payer. Also, the system has many glitches that cause incorrect billing. For example, if you have a self-pay patient and you remove the regular charges and add the self-pay charges, but then open the medical record, the self-pay charge will disappear, and the regular charge will reappear. Updating insurance information is very problematic.

“Docutap Training and implementation”
Pros
The simplicity of the actual system. That's it, nothing else truly stood out about this system due to the implementation making it overwhelming.
Cons
The implementation process is arduous, time-consuming, with minimal assistance from the DocuTAP company. They aren't flexible regarding timing and accommodating doctors with irregular hours.

“DOCUTAP REVIEW”
Pros
IDEAL FOR URGENT CARE CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT; EFFORTLESS FOR FRONT OFFICE TASKS AND SCANNING PAPERWORK INTO THE SYSTEM.
Cons
It took some time to get accustomed to, understanding some of the EMR buttons. Back-office details seemed to have some issues.

“Great product!”
Pros
I utilized this software for approximately 6 years in an urgent care setting. It excelled in simplifying patient data entry and payment collection.
Cons
It was challenging when the program would unexpectedly shut down or encounter technological issues, forcing us to resort to paper charts and input data later.

“Great product”
Pros
This software is incredibly intuitive! Our practice combined Athena and DocuTAP seamlessly, and they complement each other effectively.
Cons
It can sometimes freeze, but all software experiences lags occasionally. The e-prescribe feature doesn't always function optimally.

“Hard to believe it's 'specialized for urgent care.'”
Pros
Accessing screens is a breeze. Minimal text input required. The layout is relatively straightforward to follow. The dashboard is quite easy to navigate.
Cons
Only one person can input information at a time, which isn't ideal for a busy urgent care setting. The e-scribe setup is disorganized. The saved medication list is cluttered, making it easier to search for the med each time than to scroll through the clutter. Having to go through four different screens just to prescribe isn't conducive to urgent care. Requiring a password EVERY SINGLE TIME to discharge a patient is absurd when already logged into the system. The inability to select 'influenza' as a diagnosis is frustrating. Athena is much more powerful and useful for urgent care. When selecting a diagnosis, a window should pop up offering the most common meds used along with dosing based on user history, but PV doesn't do this.

“Not so great...”
Pros
Tailored specifically for urgent care. It was refreshing not to have to configure the system to exclude non-applicable features for urgent care.
Cons
It seems intuitive at first, but there are many tips and tricks to remember. We faced a lot of issues with new and PRN staff disliking the product. Also, using their RCM was a NIGHTMARE! There are many things we wish it could do (that many other EMRs can do) that it just can't.

“It's Eh!”
Pros
It's user-friendly, but not particularly well-suited for patient data and information, although it's adequate for the PM side rather than the EMR.
Cons
It frequently freezes; I doubt this software can handle a certain amount of data due to the delay.

“User Friendly”
Pros
A straightforward program to use. I currently integrate DocuTAP with ATHENA, and their communication is seamless.
Cons
There aren't any significant drawbacks. The only shortcoming I've noticed is occasional lagging, but that's common with computers.

“Great for Urgent care and hospital settings”
Pros
Simple to use, and all training was conducted online. A team visited on implementation day and remained for a couple of weeks until we felt confident. The staff were excellent, and it was easy to reach out for any further issues.
Cons
The interface between DocuTAP and the pharmacies didn't always cooperate. We had to submit several tickets to complete prescribing, and even after they were resolved, we still had to fax over prescriptions. It was probably on the pharmacy's end.

“To Doc or not to Doc...”
Pros
If there's an issue, we can call someone immediately, and they either try to fix it right away or do their best to solve the problem as soon as possible.
Cons
The product seems to always have glitches and messes up every weekend. Most of the time, we're unable to verify a patient's insurance because the system says it can't verify in real time, which is a big inconvenience when many patients are trying to register.

“User Friendly EMR”
Pros
The ease of use is excellent; the program guides you through the documentation process so that nothing is missed.
Cons
Some of the newer updates make parts of the program harder to use. For example, the school or work note templates used to be easily formatted to fit the patient's needs, but now it's nearly impossible to make the note fit.
