“Perfect for new clinics
Pros
Practice Velocity worked really well for the first 2 years of my practice, covering all the EHR bases I needed. Now, I am thinking about switching to a more advanced system but I am hesitant because I've gotten so used to Velocity's user friendly screens.
Cons
Nothing major to mention as a con from our side but kindly just go light on all the promotional messaging sent on email.

“If you are looking for an all-in-one EHR + PM - It is for you
Pros
This is a great EHR for busy clinicians who need a cost-effective, all in one medical software for their practice. Also the vendor support is solid too, with a team available 24/7 to offer real help whenever we needed which is definitely a huge difference compared to what the big EMR names like Ep and Ce provide.
Cons
Sometimes I get the impression that the support team can be a bit too friendly and unsure, which can be a little frustrating. I just wish they did be more straightforward and tell us if a feature is actually good for us or not because we won't sign off on it until we know.

“Easy to use and saves our time
Pros
Experity log book really easy to use. Most of the time, the app automatically verifies insurance, so I do not even have to call the insurance company, which is something that saves me a lot of time.

“Not recommended as it barely qualifies as an EHR
Pros
Well it barely qualifies as an EHR. Just enough functionality to handle basic billing and coding tasks. Nothing special here that I would like to appreciate or consider as pros.
Cons
It's very inflexible. Payment posting is chaotic. Plus there are no navigational features to switch between different functions of the software. And tracking things is the second major issue. Keeping track of payments, charges or patient balances is very stressful. The database is also lacking, as I can't see any historical data within the software. Everything needs to be extracted through a report. If I want to see charges between two dates, I need a report. If I want to see payments between two dates, I need a report. If I want to see patient visits between two dates, I need a report.

Pros
The system is decent, not bad from the last one that we had. It is simple to use, our staff individuals total the clinic proportion fairly easily. Plus notes, charts records, etc everything is available.
Cons
I really don’t like how the program crashes so often. It has to be closed down, then restarted, and then all the data is lost which is pretty annoying.

“For Practice Velocity, I have my likes and dislikes
Pros
Thanks to Practice Velocity as now it is much more easy working with our operational staff since IT tweaked the UIs to make things more efficient. Unlike other EMRs that can be really troublesome, this one is great for the urgent care specialty.
Cons
The absence of important value-based metrics for quality reporting, especially for Medicare and other payer models is a major con. Plus the reporting options are also pretty limited.

“Reliable but needs improvements
Pros
We've used this product since it was called DocuTap. It's very simple and pretty easy to chart and document patients, but there are flaws in reporting where the software is almost too basic, and they seem stuck on how to improve or maybe choose not to. I enjoy the charting part of the EMR (although the diagnosis tab and medications are still hit and miss), but the web check-in feature almost never works correctly.
Cons
Practice Velocity web check-in hardly ever works. It only transfers some of the information thats entered, which means patients end up having to redo everything when they arrive. As far as I know, there aren't any fixes planned but just trying to sell a different check-in software package. Also the reporting is fine for basic tasks but it does not really offer much for detailed financial tracking or other aspects. Customer service can be hit or miss, unless I talk to certain people who are awesome.

“Good Urgent Care EMR
Pros
Practice Velocity system is simply the best. Like It is really easy to use and I can easily track patients and their visits. Plus it integrates well with other systems and there's not much double-charting, which is a huge plus compared to other systems. Populating notes and visits is fairly simple too.
Cons
It does not have the ability to integrate with other programs to track patients across the system (like if they're admitted after an urgent care visit). I feel like it is more of a stand-alone clinic program, which can be a bit limiting.

“Billing system needs massive improvements
Pros
Works very smooth. Easy to learn and teach staff to use. Good for scheduling and managing appointments. I like how they show a small red flag at the top corner of the screen whenever there is maintenance going on to let you know what they are doing and why.
Cons
The billing system in this software is no good. There is no protocol or security for notes and who is or isn’t authorized to make changes on them. If you have an electronic claim thats been billed to the primary payer and needs to be routed to the secondary payer, the system deletes your primary payment information before sending the claim to the secondary payer. The entire billing section is full of glitches that cause so many errors in our billings., making every little task needlessly harder.

“Easy to use and manage
Pros
DocuTap is easy-to-use software for an urgent care setup and is also easy to manage and maintain day-to-day data. The all-in-one software to schedule a visit, create/enter visit history, complete billing/coding, and then bill to the payer.
Cons

“not conducive to busy urgent care practice
Pros
Quite intuitive. You don’t need to input too much text to get the needed results. Neat and comprehensive layout, easy to navigate. Access screens are quite convenient. I like the dashboard too. not too complicated.
Cons
E-scribe is inefficient and inconceivable. There is no arrangement of saved medications, scrolling through to locate a med takes ages. Prescribing takes too many unnecessary clicks. The system only allows one person at a time to make changes in the system rendering it unfit to be used in a busy urgent care facility. You cannot even perform simple actions like discharging a patient without being asked to enter the password which is a waste of time when Im logged into the system after entering my password. Again, not fit for a busy urgent care setting.

“EMR FOR URGENT CARE
Pros
This software is super intuitive and laid out very well. I move through all the tabs and pages quickly and easily, which allows me to devote more time to patients and get them on and off the phone in a timely manner.
Cons
It does tend to crash a few times a week, which is very inconvenient because I have phone calls coming in all day. I work on the PM side and do billing. Also, in the payment screen, when saving and finalizing, I wish there was a way that once you save and finalize, the names would disappear, they only disappear when saving and finalizing for a past date of service, not the current one.

“Great software, but support and updates are not up to your standards.
Pros
Having an EMR tailored specifically for urgent care facilities is fantastic. Having a software vendor that understands our needs and constraints is essential for a stable and functional EMR. The interface is neat, practical, and simple to train on.
Cons
Over the past year, the general support line has become less helpful. Simple issues now take much longer to resolve. Additionally, every time there's an update, we have to brace for the worst because something will almost certainly be significantly broken.

“OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE C+
Pros
The software is straightforward; anyone can use it! It's genuinely one of the most intuitive software systems I've encountered. There are so many functions that we appreciate!
Cons
Their customer service team has little knowledge about the occupational medicine functions. While DocuTAP has made significant improvements over the last five years, not all customer service reps understand the occupational medicine portion. The biggest issue I have is with the invoices. We are a practice with multiple locations, and our invoices print one location per page, so sometimes our invoices exceed 10+ pages. We need all the charges listed in date order, regardless of the location. This causes dozens of short-paid, partially paid invoices each month because clients overlook the last page or pages in between. This results in more work for me as I have to call them explaining and asking for more money. It also increases our costs due to using more paper and needing additional postage and sometimes special size envelopes for seven or more pages.
