Perfect for new clinics

Pros

Practice Velocity worked really well for the first 2 years of my practice, covering all the EHR bases I needed. Now, I am thinking about switching to a more advanced system but I am hesitant because I've gotten so used to Velocity's user friendly screens.

Cons

Nothing major to mention as a con from our side but kindly just go light on all the promotional messaging sent on email.

If you are looking for an all-in-one EHR + PM - It is for you

Pros

This is a great EHR for busy clinicians who need a cost-effective, all in one medical software for their practice. Also the vendor support is solid too, with a team available 24/7 to offer real help whenever we needed which is definitely a huge difference compared to what the big EMR names like Ep and Ce provide.

Cons

Sometimes I get the impression that the support team can be a bit too friendly and unsure, which can be a little frustrating. I just wish they did be more straightforward and tell us if a feature is actually good for us or not because we won't sign off on it until we know.

Easy to use and saves our time

Pros

Experity log book really easy to use. Most of the time, the app automatically verifies insurance, so I do not even have to call the insurance company, which is something that saves me a lot of time.

Cons

When the software is down, I can't open documents like registration forms, insurance cards, and IDs which is annoying.

Billing doesn't meet expectations..

Pros

The clinical part is amazing and we can edit patient charts too. That module never crashes either.

There is no way for us to delete billing and notes. Wierd!!!

Lacking in a few areas

Pros

It is quite user friendly and works great for storing information digitally. We can easily scan documents and add them straight to the EHR which makes everything a lot more organized for us.

Cons

We face downtime when the application crashes.

Disappointed - Had a poor experience!

Pros

I do not like anything about it.

Cons

It is glitchy and makes my job more difficult. The system keeps crashing and there are too many windows you need to open to get a simple task done.

Not recommended as it barely qualifies as an EHR

Pros

Well it barely qualifies as an EHR. Just enough functionality to handle basic billing and coding tasks. Nothing special here that I would like to appreciate or consider as pros.

Cons

It's very inflexible. Payment posting is chaotic. Plus there are no navigational features to switch between different functions of the software. And tracking things is the second major issue. Keeping track of payments, charges or patient balances is very stressful. The database is also lacking, as I can't see any historical data within the software. Everything needs to be extracted through a report. If I want to see charges between two dates, I need a report. If I want to see payments between two dates, I need a report. If I want to see patient visits between two dates, I need a report.

Works ok, but better options are available out there

Pros

Our practice management and billing activities are all covered now with Practice Velocity. Even though we know better options are available.

Cons

Honestly the transition was not smooth because all the information could not be uploaded to the system and we had to manually transfer it.

Reliable one!!

Pros

The system is decent, not bad from the last one that we had. It is simple to use, our staff individuals total the clinic proportion fairly easily. Plus notes, charts records, etc everything is available.

Cons

I really don’t like how the program crashes so often. It has to be closed down, then restarted, and then all the data is lost which is pretty annoying.

For Practice Velocity, I have my likes and dislikes

Pros

Thanks to Practice Velocity as now it is much more easy working with our operational staff since IT tweaked the UIs to make things more efficient. Unlike other EMRs that can be really troublesome, this one is great for the urgent care specialty.

Cons

The absence of important value-based metrics for quality reporting, especially for Medicare and other payer models is a major con. Plus the reporting options are also pretty limited.

Fairly awesome

Pros

Overall this is a pretty great EMR. It is easy to use and helps us do things quickly. It is best suited for urgent care, especially for fast paced ones.

Cons

The framework freezes more often than I prefer, which ends up making it take a lot longer to get patients discharged and out of the center.

Reliable but needs improvements

Pros

We've used this product since it was called DocuTap. It's very simple and pretty easy to chart and document patients, but there are flaws in reporting where the software is almost too basic, and they seem stuck on how to improve or maybe choose not to. I enjoy the charting part of the EMR (although the diagnosis tab and medications are still hit and miss), but the web check-in feature almost never works correctly.

Cons

Practice Velocity web check-in hardly ever works. It only transfers some of the information thats entered, which means patients end up having to redo everything when they arrive. As far as I know, there aren't any fixes planned but just trying to sell a different check-in software package. Also the reporting is fine for basic tasks but it does not really offer much for detailed financial tracking or other aspects. Customer service can be hit or miss, unless I talk to certain people who are awesome.

Simply amaaazziinnggg......

Pros

Amazing for reporting an urgent care patient visit in a simple and accurate way. Plus, it is specifically designed for urgent care and occupational medicine, which makes it even better for what we do.

Cons

One thing that I do not like is that the screen size is restricted on the PC screen.

Good Urgent Care EMR

Pros

Practice Velocity system is simply the best. Like It is really easy to use and I can easily track patients and their visits. Plus it integrates well with other systems and there's not much double-charting, which is a huge plus compared to other systems. Populating notes and visits is fairly simple too.

Cons

It does not have the ability to integrate with other programs to track patients across the system (like if they're admitted after an urgent care visit). I feel like it is more of a stand-alone clinic program, which can be a bit limiting.

My take on this software

Pros

The only thing that I like the most is, it makes logging into computers much easier.

Cons

Practice Velocity doesn't always work due to connection or other issues. Sometimes, it doesn't completely log out the prior user, and their information is still on the screen when it opens (usually only briefly).

My top-choice!!!

Pros

Wll I really like how flexible DocuTap is and how willing they are to help improve things that will benefit the company. It is great to know they're open to making changes that matter.

Cons

Runs a little slow at times, and when saving a credit card over an old one, it takes a minute.

Works well for urgent cares

Pros

Practice Velocity is easy to use with the operational staff now that IT has customized the user interfaces to make things more efficient. Compared to other EMRs, this one is a lot less complicated.

Cons

There is a lack of value-based metrics for quality reporting, especially for Medicare and the other payer models they are trying to move toward. On top of that, the reporting options are pretty limited.
