I have been using Praxis for 10 years now and have not looked back. Unlike other EMRs with rigid templates, Praxis offers an open template where I can create notes my way.

Since getting Praxis, the upgrades keep enhancing and refining the features. It's promising, especially as they consider my feedback, helping me improve my usage.

With Praxis, we can make changes on the fly without needing IT support. Each clinician can customize their templates, and the product reads like a dictation, perfect for using scribes.

Cons

No real complaints. You need to create your own templates, but it's worth it to tailor it just the way you want. Like all software, there's a learning curve, but it's fairly intuitive. The support has been excellent.

Praxis blew me away with its demo. It understands how physicians think and creates notes in a way that's natural and intuitive. It's a must-try for any healthcare provider looking for a game-changing EMR.

It took me three years to find them, and if it weren't for the Coronavirus pandemic forcing me to search high and low for an ideal EMR, I would have stuck with paper charts and dictations. (I hate EMRs, every one except Praxis).

Pros

The main pro for me is that this tool allows the provider to chart things the way they think. Creating notes, saving it, and reusing it again and again for the same problem is possible. The charting speed is good, precise documentation for the E/M codes charged, reminds the provider things required for specific issues.

Cons

The tool allows providers to improve their assessment and doesn’t bound anyone by someone else’s way of documenting notes.

Praxis is easy to learn, customizable, and saves time. It's been a perfect fit for my practice, which includes multiple specialties.

Cons

Praxis has electronic scripting but is still working on e-scripting for controlled substances. However, it's partnering with MD Toolbox for controlled substance electronic scripting until it's fully incorporated. For now, e-scripting controlled substances is an extra step, but an HL7 interface allows demographic transfer from Praxis, saving the hassle of entering patients separately in each program.

The first week requires building your knowledge base, which can be challenging. However, as I created two or three documents, it got easier every time.

Pros

This is an exceptionally intuitive tool and the functionality is similar to a doctor assessing a patient and make notes. Produces compact, clean notes and coordinates very well with Dragon. With the help of this software, I am able to see 50 patients a day, have all the notes complete even after the last patient leaves.

The worst thing about Praxis is not finding it early enough, leading to wasted time with disappointing EMRs. But once you're using it regularly, it becomes faster and more intuitive, making documentation easier.

There's nothing I can't do with Praxis. I wasted a lot of time (and money) by not getting Praxis earlier, but I'm making up for lost time now. Praxis connects to everything in my office, which is great. I'm still waiting to connect with a lab, but they should be onboard soon. Ask the Praxis people for a demo or watch the demo videos to get a feel for its clinical usefulness for your practice. Good luck!

It is personalized to meet my specific requirements, and the support group is super amazing.
