“Fits our needs
Pros
It's been really helpful that we can use only the services that actually fit our needs instead of paying for extra add-ons that don't provide any value for us.
Cons
Getting started was challenging because the learning curve was pretty steep. It took quite a bit of time to figure out how to usethe platformproperly and the instructions weren't very accessible.

“Quite an amazing tool
Pros
From the production standpoint, this software has been really capable. Since we run a manufacturing company, it handles the process well from entering a sales order all the way through invoicing customers.
Cons
There are a lot of extra modules to purchase so the overall cost can climb pretty quickly. The BAQ report builder is also overly complex andthe systemoccasionally freezes when working in the AP applications.

“user friendly platform overall
Pros
It's user friendly and I was genuinely surprised by how quickly it was to learn and move around in. The customization options are another big plus as we have been able to tailor everything from the startup screen to the deeper internal workings of the system. Access is also very convenient, whether working in the office or remotely. On top of that it handles both large-scale project management and high-volume manufacturing very well.
Cons
One challenge is that some features work quite differently between the classic version and the newercloud-based version. Because of that, there's a bit of a learning curve when switching from one version to the other.

“Offers a lot of customization options
Pros
Epicor Kinetic does a great job of being data-driven and adaptable across different departments. Its customization options make it useful for a variety of teams and workflows.

“flexible but too complex
Pros
There are plenty of different ways to accomplish the same task which gives you some flexibility in how you work.

“Powerful ERP tool
Pros
Epicor Kinetic feels like a mature, capable ERP platform that's still evolving in the right direction. Its core structure is good, the built-in modules are dependable and the framework for customization and extensibility is both strong and continuing to improve.
Cons
Sincethe producthas expanded over time, including through acquisitions some features don't feel equally polished or fully aligned in functionality. The newer interface still comes across as somewhat beta-stage, even though all new development is being pushed there. Vendor support on the inside is lacking although the active consulting network and user community help fill part of that gap.

“comes with promising features
Pros
It comes with very reliable features, the MRP sounds promising and the price is also reasonable compared to the bigger vendors especially if you expect your business to grow.
Cons
The problem is that making it actually work ends up being entirely on you. In our case since we have several production processes, the implementer they recommended, who was supposed to knowthe system, simply did not. When we tried to get support from them in Mexico, nothing came of it. They left us stuck with the issue and a wasted investment. We had to keep looking for alternatives and try to solve things on our own. It is hard to believe that an American software company of that size can just wash its hands of the situation. I cannot speak for other industries but at least for manufacturing and with the structure they have in Mexico, buying it was definitely a mistake.

“ideal manufacturing fit
Pros
The platform is user friendly, works well for manufacturing operations and connects nicely with other systems and platforms.
Cons
The platformis a capable ERP but like much of the ERP market, it often feels more focused on winning new customers than taking care of existing ones. Overall the industry includingthis one really needs to do better when it comes to product quality and customer support.

Pros
The move from our on-premise 10.2.300 setup was fairly easy which made the transition a lot more manageable.

“Powers daily business operations
Pros
Getting started with it didn't take long and the system is fairly easy to learn and use. Our entire organization depends on it for order entry as well as accounting and financial management. It's the primary ERP platform we work in and we're using it for about 90% of our day to day operations.
Cons
Since we runthe softwareon-premise, performance problems come up pretty often. Communication between the application server and the database server tends to run into issues from time to time and we usually end up rebooting the systems just to get everything working again.

“Great for multi-location tracking
Pros
Epicor came with a wide range of features that helped us stay on top of inventory and financial management across different parts of our business, from retail gas stations to B2B fuel deliveries nationwide.
Cons
Navigation was harder than it should have been because the interface was not very user friendly. A lot of things were buried in menus and some options had very similar labels which made them easy to mix up. One helpful part was being able to build custom menus so frequently used items were easier to access but when it was time to hand those lists off to a new team member, you had to remember where each item originally lived which was frustrating.

“Adaptable for larger companies
Pros
After five years with this software, I have really learned how to use it the right way. I appreciated its overall approach, even though it meant adapting to new benchmarks at first which is honestly part of moving to a new system. It's a very versatile product and I can see it being an even better fit for a larger company than the one I was in. I used it while working as part of a team, before switching to freelance work after COVID-19.
Cons
It gave me the ability to customize and improve how I manage my contacts which was definitely useful. That said I couldn't make changes very easily because I hadn't completed the additional training module. It also has a lot of security measures in place and because of that some settings or actions were simply impossible for me to cancel or modify.

“Light learning curve for developers
Pros
It was up and running with ease and if your team already works with .NET, the learning curve feels fairly light. That also makes it much easier to customize the modules internally without having to rely too much on outside help.

“costly and overly complicated
Pros
Well this tool looks like a complete system because of the number of modules it offers but getting the specific modules you actually need requires a major investment. I would not recommend it.
Cons
It is far too complicated, not user friendly at all and the information you look up is presented in a disorganized way. The documentation is insufficient and in many cases basically nonexistent. We also ran into problems twice with the implementer because they lacked knowledge ofthe systemin the production area. Support is slow and sometimes useless since they just redirect you back to the implementer. On top of that the implementation cost is very high.

“expensive support and unfair charges
Pros
I honestly don't have any positive points to mention about this software or the company. If your business is thinking about implementing it, be very careful. Their technical support never really provides real solutions as they just keep applying fixes and working through trial and error. On top of that they constantly send you to their partners and you end up paying twice.
Cons
If you don't use their technical support, they still want to charge you for the years you didn't even need it. That feels like a robbery and an abusive practice fromthis company.

One of the biggest strengths is how customizable it is. It runs on the industry-standard .NET framework and functionality and it connects well with SQL Server.

“Flexible and easy to upgrade
Pros
Built on the Microsoft stack, it's very customizable for reporting and data storage which has been a big advantage. The multi-tier setup with the database, application server and support for web clients, fat clients and terminal servers gives a lot of flexibility. There are plenty of ways to tailor the system beyond just writing code and the platform really supports just about everything. Upgrades are also simple so staying current on releases hasn't been difficult. The admin tools are also strong and it's simple to add resources as demand increases, including placing servers locally to improve performance.
Cons
Honestly I don't have any real complaints. There are a lot of modules and each one comes with plenty of configuration options that are fairly easy to understand.
