“Connected departments, strong integration”

Pros

It does a really good job of connecting all departments so everything feels more integrated across the business.

Cons

There are still some parts we haven't been able to roll out simply because we don't have the bandwidth to implement them yet.

“Helpful and easy to use”

Pros

It's been really useful for keeping data organized and the system is user friendly overall.

Cons

There's a lot packed into it so learning everything can be a bit challenging at first.

“always offer helpful support”

Pros

One of the best parts for me has been the support from the IT Support team. I also really like how much can be customized with tools like BPMs, BAQs and Application Studio. We haven't taken full advantage of it yet but the Learning Center already looks like a valuable resource for training new users and picking up general tips and tricks.

Cons

A few areas feel more restricted than they need to be whether that's on the transaction side or with administration. I have also run into certain problems that can only be fixed through IT Support and after a while that becomes a bit frustrating since it means we have to rely on them instead of being able to handle those issues internally as a company.

“More insight at our fingertips”

Pros

Having added functionality that puts extra information right at the end user's fingertips is a big plus. Being able to view more relevant details in one place really helps when it comes to making the next decision.

Cons

One downside is having to manually update and fix customizations that don't automatically convert over from the smart client.

“helpful training available when needed”

Pros

The built-in training materials are genuinely helpful, the applications are searchable and the field search button added in 2024.2 is a really useful improvement.

Cons

Project costing still doesn't take inventory into account which means we have to use a Make Direct setup for certain items.

“very cramped workspace”

Pros

It offers more room for customization than the classic version so you can tailor it to your needs even before adding BPMs and BAQs.

Cons

I understand why the simplified navigation tree is there and I do use it but it takes up too much screen space from the actual work area. I still have to keep using the elevator bar to view all the details I need to do my job even after personalizing my screen layout.

“clear workflows”

Pros

The system is user friendly and the report names and operations are labeled clearly so they actually match what they do.

Cons

There's still a lot of clicking involved and having to use Tab instead of Enter can be a bit frustrating.

“Familiar platform but limited configurator”

Pros

A big plus is that both my company and I already know the product well so there's some comfort and familiarity in using it.

Cons

The biggest downside is that we couldn't make the software work with its out of the box configurator for our needs. We ended up having to build a separate system and integrate it with it. For just one line there are 9 sub configurators and more than 500 configured inputs, plus a BOM structure that goes 6 levels deep.

“highly adaptable solution”

Pros

Epicor Kinetic really looks like a company that puts customers first. The product's modular design is efficient, cost-effective and incredibly flexible which makes it easier to adapt to different business needs. On top of that the user community is strong, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. Altogether, it provides decent support for a company's overall business success.

Cons

Honestly there's very little not to like. The platform includes what's needed to handle a broad and diverse range of business requirements.

“Good SaaS evolution”

Pros

It has come a long way from being an on-premise system to becoming a really strong SaaS platform.

Cons

The upgrade process introduced bugs and quality assurance still seems to be a weak spot.

“simple tools that fuel growth”

Pros

Everything about the system is simple and user friendly and it has really helped our company grow alongside our customer base. It also makes it much quicker and more effective for us to get customers the items they need when they need them.

Cons

The only concern is Classic being phased out in 2026 which is a little unsettling but I am still optimistic about continuing to grow with it in the future.

“Helpful learning center overall”

Pros

The workflow is pretty simple for the most part and having the learning center available is definitely a nice bonus.

Cons

Some fields and sections feel too hidden when entering information. I have to click through the tree several times just to get to the area where the needed details should be added.

“quite a decent tool”

Pros

It's very open and customizable, with plenty of ways to cover different processes and workflows.

Cons

Application Studio development can be buggy at times and using it in a web browser may lead to timeouts which can make training other users more difficult.

“Very happy with the product”

Pros

Cons

“Well prepared go-live support”

Pros

Their team comes across as organized and ready to support a company through the go-live process.

Cons

we have worked with some really excellent IT consultants but the tough part is that everyone seems to operate in separate silos. They often cannot answer even basic questions outside their own area. On top of that I need to build a custom interface for my company and I have been running into technical issues that are confusing even the consultants. What I am trying to do isn't especially complex, yet I am still struggling to get it working.

“Flexible manufacturing fit”

Pros

we have had a really positive experience with it. It's offered both on-prem and cloud deployment which gives a lot of flexibility and it handles medium-level customization and automation quite well. SSO login is convenient, customer support has been good for most functional and technical questions or requests and our Customer Account Manager has also been very helpful. The implementation process is supported by a strong data migration tool, the concurrent licensing model is practical and the system adapts well to our manufacturing requirements. On top of that the technology stack seems modern and the SaaS service has been reliable.

Cons

One area that still seems behind is the integration with advanced MES and labeling automation which could benefit from some modernization.
