“provide complete business visibility”

Pros

Having multiple home pages gives a full view of the business which makes it much easier to keep track of everything in one place.

Cons

A few screens still depend on the Windows interface and haven't been moved into the browser yet.

“Useful BPM data extraction”

Pros

The thing I find helpful is that I can pull data from different BPM sources.

Cons

The UX is buggy and not very user friendly although I am hoping the improvements in version 2023.1 will make a difference.

“Offer good support”

Pros

It's very flexible when it comes to customization and the support team has been reliable and helpful.

Cons

Regular releases are useful for staying current on security updates and new features but they also mean going through the upgrade process several times throughout the year.

5.0

“Work as expected”

Pros

Working in Epicor Kinetic is not a hassle and the coding capabilities along with the BAQ functionality make it especially powerful.

Cons

Nothing major comes to mind right now. The only thing that could be improved is having clearer separation and labeling between companies in multi-company environments.

4.0

“Well structured workflows for operations”

Pros

From raw material purchasing to manufacturing, distribution and final fulfillment, the workflow structure follows a logical path that guides the business through each step. Also it does a good job on the financial side, covering everything from the cash commitments tied to procurement to revenue opportunities from quoting, all the way through to the final financial statements.

Cons

At times the workflow setup can feel pretty restrictive, almost like a straightjacket. It works best when a company already has clearly defined, repeatable processes because mapping those into the system can be easy and rewarding. But when workflows are more ad hoc and change from case to case, it can become frustrating since the system does not always handle unexpected situations very well.

“Improving direction but slower performance”

Pros

It's encouraging to see the product moving in a better direction and making an effort to improve over time.

Cons

Screen and application loading performance has been an issue, users often have to reopen screens and some functionality has been removed.

“Helpful support and clear modules”

Pros

The modules are pretty simple and it's easy to get guidance and useful information through the help resources and EpicCare.

Cons

On the client side, it runs slower than some other systems. There are also a lot of patch updates and keeping everything in sync takes more resources than it should. Upgrades can be frustrating too since customizations often end up conflicting with the base deployment.

“Powerful ERP with deep customization”

Pros

Right out of the box this ERP comes packed with the tools needed to help a business grow. It's a good, feature rich platform and the customization and automation options make it possible to tailor the system closely to the way your company works.

Cons

As with most ERP platforms, it's highly complex and everything is tightly connected so there's definitely a learning curve. The rollout of the new UI has also had some bugs which is disappointing but overall it still stands out as a capable and dependable ERP system.

“Powerful ERP tool”

Pros

Epicor Kinetic feels like a mature, capable ERP platform that's still evolving in the right direction. Its core structure is good, the built-in modules are dependable and the framework for customization and extensibility is both strong and continuing to improve.

Cons

Sincethe producthas expanded over time, including through acquisitions some features don't feel equally polished or fully aligned in functionality. The newer interface still comes across as somewhat beta-stage, even though all new development is being pushed there. Vendor support on the inside is lacking although the active consulting network and user community help fill part of that gap.

“comes with promising features”

Pros

It comes with very reliable features, the MRP sounds promising and the price is also reasonable compared to the bigger vendors especially if you expect your business to grow.

Cons

The problem is that making it actually work ends up being entirely on you. In our case since we have several production processes, the implementer they recommended, who was supposed to knowthe system, simply did not. When we tried to get support from them in Mexico, nothing came of it. They left us stuck with the issue and a wasted investment. We had to keep looking for alternatives and try to solve things on our own. It is hard to believe that an American software company of that size can just wash its hands of the situation. I cannot speak for other industries but at least for manufacturing and with the structure they have in Mexico, buying it was definitely a mistake.

“Good software!”

Pros

Being able to build and present dashboards and reports on the fly has been a big advantage.

Cons

At this point, we really haven't come across any major downsides. If I had to point to one area, it would probably be the financial module.

“ideal manufacturing fit”

Pros

The platform is user friendly, works well for manufacturing operations and connects nicely with other systems and platforms.

Cons

The platformis a capable ERP but like much of the ERP market, it often feels more focused on winning new customers than taking care of existing ones. Overall the industry includingthis one really needs to do better when it comes to product quality and customer support.
