“reporting done right”
Pros
Day to day purchasing seems much more manageable with this system and the overall workflow is simple for regular tasks. The purchasing module is especially valuable since it fits well with the kind of work I do. Also it works really well for viewing reports, issuing POs and quickly looking up pest information when needed.
Cons
I think the thing that could be improved is the error message saying an order was updated by someone else even when no changes were actually made to the PO. That can be confusing and feels like something that should be fixed. The initial setup was also a bit complicated although that had a lot to do with our management not involving IT support during the process.

“Reliable MRP!”
Pros
Its MRP functionality really helps keep my business running efficiently and I also llike that it can be deployed on-premise. The initial setup was very easy too which made getting started especially helpful.
Cons
Nothing to share to be honest.

“Modern interface, powerful customization”
Pros
Right away the clean and modern interface makes the system pleasant to work in and the customization options are incredibly amazing. Also it delivers detailed, real time data and analytics which makes monitoring performance decent and much more efficient.
Cons
Getting started can be challenging because the setup process is fairly complex and the learning curve is steep especially for beginners. It takes a significant amount of initial training before you can really make full use of everything the software offers.

“love the design”
Pros
The screen design is simple and the way Functions connect with BPMs really helps when building more complex screens. That setup makes development a lot more manageable.
Cons
Documentation is still pretty limited. It would be much better if written guides for Application Studio and function/BPM syntax were easier to locate.

“works a bit slow at times”
Pros
One thing that works really well for us is that it updates itself and stays highly available. The interface is simple for users to navigate which has made adoption easier. Moving to the cloud also improved security and uptime for us. On top of that the self-updating setup saves our team extra effort since all we really need to do is confirm everything works properly in the pilot environment.
Cons
There are times when the system seems a bit slow and performance can be inconsistent. The initial setup was fairly manageable but getting the custom reports in place took some extra time.

“Flexible menus, good control”
Pros
Well the thing that really works well in Epicor Kinetic is how consistent the menus are throughout the system and the fact that they can be configured to fit different needs. That flexibility makes it much easier to adjust security settings and control what each employee is allowed to see.
Cons
I feel like the quality module still needs improvement.

“reliable to use”
Pros
Getting started with it was not a hassle and it's been simple to use while doing exactly what I need it to do. The initial setup process was especially hassle-free.
Cons
The part I am not happy with is the refresh rate and the web based system monitor could definitely be better.

“quite a user friendly solution”
Pros
Using it day to day is not a hassle as it is very user friendly. The visualization tools and timely reporting are especially important to me and I really value being able to build my own reports and tailor the environment to fit the way I work.
Cons
Well the deployment of updates can be a drawback.

“Simple interface that works well”
Pros
The interface is pretty simple especially after it's configured properly for our business. Once the team learns where everything is, it performs really well.
Cons
One issue I have noticed is that the automatic column mapping doesn't handle more complex updatable BAQs very well. The setup itself was manageable but getting full user acceptance wasn't quite as smooth as expected.

“Cloud setup is a win”
Pros
Since it runs in the cloud, getting users set up is pretty easy and the system is generally simple to manage overall.
Cons
Adding new users can be a bit buggy and I often have to refresh the page several times before it works the way it should.

“Powerful reporting!”
Pros
Its native reporting has been really valuable and the Grow BI customization options do a good job of helping deliver data to stakeholders.

“quite a high potential”
Pros
To me it doesn't feel like a legacy system which is a big plus.
Cons
One issue is the lack of built-in automation Right out of the box and the costing side is also pretty complex.

“Customization helps but scheduling seems difficult”
Pros
One thing that really works well in Epicor Kinetic is the high level of customization which helps us keep up throughput at our current volume. The interface can be tailored to fit how we work and the scheduling engine has been useful too even if it isn't flawless.
Cons
The scheduling boards feel somewhat awkward to work with especially when you have to drill down through multiple levels of a BOM. Also it is pretty confusing that operation schedule changes have to be loaded one at a time.

“Custom dashboards, strong flexibility”
Pros
Being fully customizable is a big advantage for us. I also really like being able to build dashboards and run mass audits. As a custom manufacturer handling hundreds of jobs and parts that change every day, having the flexibility to match unique customer requests with equally custom responses is very valuable.
Cons
It does glitch quite a bit and some basic functionality is not included unless you pay for an upgrade. A lot of the resource-related options are required and cannot be adjusted. There's also no way to connect subassemblies within a job, only resources. On top of that the initial setup was challenging since this was our first master system.

“Helpful order entry visibility”
Pros
The order entry tools and the visibility the system gives me are definitely strong points. Getting everything set up at the beginning was also pretty easy which made the onboarding process much better.
Cons
Navigation is where I still struggle with it especially when I need to pull up certain entries. It's not always quick to find what I need and the layout for areas like price lists and quote entry doesn't seem very user friendly. Because of that I end up spending more time than I should just locating the right information.

“Reliable product traceability”
Pros
One of the most useful things about it is how well it tracks a product's history. The part transaction history gives long-term traceability for years and that's been really valuable. Getting it set up in the beginning was also surprisingly easy which was a big plus.
Cons
I feel like managing quality could be better.

“Powerful all in one customization tool”
Pros
Having everything tied together in one system has been really convenient for us. It brings all of our systems together well and the ability to customize it around our specific needs is a big advantage. The field service module has also been very helpful since all of our field work integrates back to customers and assets and flows directly into our financials.
Cons
One thing that holds it back is the user interface which can feel a bit like an old DOS prompt at times. When I compare it to our previous field service software, Salesforce, it lacks that more modern look and feel especially when it comes to searching and building reports quickly. The initial setup was also somewhat painful for the company overall even if it was fairly manageable for IT.

“customization options are of next level”
Pros
One of the biggest advantages is how customizable it is through the REST API, plus the ability to communicate with it programmatically using C# code. That combination makes building user interfaces much more manageable and flexible.
Cons
There are still bugs to deal with. The grids need improvement especially when grouping and summarizing because performance drops noticeably. The initial setup was also difficult and took about a year and a half to complete.

“Flexibility without forced upgrades”
Pros
Being able to stay on version 2021.2 without being pushed into an upgrade has been a big plus and it's made working in the system much more manageable.
Cons
Reporting has been a struggle. Since we're on an older version, pulling the information I need from the system is difficult. The initial setup was also tough especially because it was completely different from the old green-screen environment.

“Flexible customization, strong community”
Pros
One thing that really stands out is how customizable it is along with the large amount of support and user-created documentation available. It makes it much simpler to find answers to problems other companies have already run into. With Application Studio the system can be tailored pretty well to match specific business needs.
Cons
Application Studio can be quite buggy at times. Even though it gives you a lot of flexibility, it is not always easy to work with and there is still very limited official documentation from the company itself.
