“Powerful MRP, data discovery”

Pros

Using it day to day has made my work much more manageable because the system is user friendly and helps my tasks flow better. I especially appreciate the MRP functionality since it supports a big part of what I do. Another feature I really value is the business activity designer which makes it fast to uncover data and has become a very important tool for our operations.

Cons

The reporting service has been frustrating because it keeps failing and won't upload reports when needed. On top of that the initial setup was difficult and took more effort than expected.

“Easy upgrade with helpful fixes”

Pros

The interface is very user friendly and it addresses a lot of the problems we dealt with in the older version. It also removes several workarounds that were necessary in E10 especially around ABC codes.

Cons

At this point there really isn't anything I dislike about the product.

“help with better planning”

Pros

Compared with the system we used before this has been a big step forward for running our manufacturing operation. It gives us much better visibility into planning and purchasing along with shop capacity and load which helps a lot. Training new employees on the interface is fairly easy and that has been a real benefit. Also I like the clearer part visibility and demand tracking. The time phase feature is especially useful because it lays out demand and what's needed to cover customer orders, keep minimum levels and maintain safety stock.

Cons

A few areas have been challenging for us especially handling both make to stock and make direct processes in the system. we have also run into problems with purchase order suggestions for products that have expiration dates even when the inventory will be used before it expires. On top of that the switch from a paper-based process to a computer interface has been tough for some employees to adjust to.

“Flexible customization, useful tracking”

Pros

One of the best parts is how flexible it is. I can add fields, behaviors and tasks whenever they're needed which really matters because no single ERP system can cover every business need out of the box. That flexibility lets us build custom fields for things like tracking vendor certifications such as AS9100 and ISO9001. With just a little administration, it's pretty easy to keep up with new information.

Cons

Some parts of the project management side don't work very well with the manufacturing features. A good example is when a job needs to be nested inside another job on cost-plus projects since it doesn't handle invoice generation for the nested job properly. That becomes pretty frustrating. I'd also like more control over the HTTP response from its functions. Right now files are wrapped in headers the wrong way which limits how they display in browsers and holds back some of the tool's overall potential.

“Useful integration, setup delays”

Pros

Having everything integrated into one system has been really helpful. The quick job creation feature is especially useful because it lets us move work to the production floor faster which saves time across both engineering and manufacturing.

Cons

Adding drawings and process information has been difficult to manage. The initial setup also took quite a bit of time.

“support is amazing”

Pros

Their support has been really helpful and the reorder setup for configuring parts is very convenient. I also like being able to set up a bill of materials once and keep reusing it whenever needed.

Cons

One thing that doesn't work well is how BOM piece parts are treated as consumables in ITS. It would make more sense if those piece parts could be allocated when the job starts without being picked since the item is sent to the floor as a consumable. Also I wasn't part of the original setup but it definitely seems like it wasn't configured properly.

“Powerful customization flexibility”

Pros

The functionality and customization options are a big plus. In general if you can imagine a process or requirement, there's usually a way to make it happen through the built-in features or by customizing the system.

Cons

The downside is the overhead involved with screen migrations and the customizations that get developed. Once a BPM or customization is created, it isn't always simple to migrate or maintain it alongside other customizations.

“Web based access is a win”

Pros

I like that the tool offers a complete general ledger solution and the FP&A functionality adds useful report-writing capabilities. I also like the simple web based interface since I can access it anywhere whenever I need it.

Cons

Exporting data to Excel now takes an extra step because I have to download and then save the file, whereas older versions would open it automatically in Excel. We also ran into problems with the external consultant assigned to us. The financial consultant didn't really understand our company, our needs or how our general ledger should be set up.

“Helpful tracking, shipping links”

Pros

One thing that's been really helpful is how clearly the system lets us track material movements from one step to the next. The QuickShip integration is also a big plus since it integrates us to our preferred shipping methods without making us sign in to separate portals.

Cons

Upgrades can be challenging when there are complex customizations involved.

“Reliable inventory planning”

Pros

Running our company with it has been a really positive experience especially because of how stable the system is. The inventory planning tools are incredibly helpful and make sure we always have the right products available to meet customer demand. Getting everything set up at the beginning was also very easy and that's exactly why I'd confidently give it a 10 out of 10 recommendation.

Cons

No cons to share. The tool is working the best for us.

“Versatile tools, handy searches”

Pros

One thing that really helps with Epicor Kinetic is how versatile it is. The filters and search functions are useful for day to day work and they let my team find a lot of information on their own instead of always relying on someone to build specific queries. The DMTs are also helpful and make some processes more convenient.

Cons

The cloud version can be slow and it takes a lot of clicking to finish certain tasks. I am not sure whether the cloud setup is what's causing the slower response time.

“Strong API, flexible cloud fit”

Pros

Working with REST API integrations for external apps has been a strong point here. The integration features are really useful especially the good REST API and the documentation has been helpful as well. I also value being able to inspect the IT screens to see which services are being called. Out of the products we reviewed, this one felt like the best match mainly because it's cloud based and can be customized to fit what we need. On top of that the initial setup process was fairly manageable.

Cons

One thing that would make it better is having field-level help that shows which REST services are being used on a page in IT.

5.0

“brand-friendly platform”

Pros

One thing that really works well is how customizable it is. we have been able to shape it around our own processes, branding and day to day needs instead of forcing our team to adapt to a complex system. It has helped organize operations by simplifying the screens and having our company's branding visible throughout is a nice added touch. Bringing in consultants during setup also made a big difference since it took a lot of the heavy lifting off our team and let us keep the business running without as much disruption.

Cons

The GovCloud version still feels a step behind the main product and that has slowed adoption in situations where CMMC or similar certifications are required in order to operate.

“Easy yet modern design”

Pros

Switching over from the Classic interface to the new one has been pretty easy. It's adaptable enough to fit the different ways we need to use it which has been a big plus. The updated layout feels much more user friendly overall and I spend far less time digging around to find things. When something isn't immediately visible, it's usually tucked into the overflow menu.

Cons

After moving from 2022.2 to 2024.2 we have run into a few things that don't behave the way they really should. What makes it more frustrating is that support's response has basically been, you just need to upgrade even though we literally just completed an upgrade and won't be doing another one anytime soon. A good example is the sorting in Change Log as it groups by month in a strange way like October 2025, October 2026, November 2025, November 2026 instead of putting everything in proper chronological order.

“quite a friendly UX”

Pros

Right away the user experience stood out along with the wide range of data fields it keeps track of. Having that level of detail makes it much easier to review patterns and evaluate trends which helps my company make better-informed decisions. On top of that the UAT testing process went very smoothly.

Cons

One area that could be better is the basic data entry process. I'd really like to see screens that are more customizable so data can be entered faster.

“Excel exports that save time”

Pros

One thing I really like is that just about every screen in it can be exported to Excel without any hassle.

Cons

I'd still like to see more use of natural language models built into it. The setup process also took a long time, with a lot of DMTs that needed validation and the toughest part was figuring out the right sequence for uploading the information.

“one source for everything”

Pros

Having it web based is a big convenience. It gives us a single source of record too so I no longer have to juggle spreadsheets for everything.

Cons

The upgrade schedule isn't something I am a fan of. On top of that the initial setup required a lot of consulting time and plenty of trial and error.

“Modern interface, valuable insights”

Pros

The modern interface has been really helpful for accessing our data and supporting customers. The insights it provides are especially useful since we can pull manufacturing data quickly. Having that information readily available makes it much easier to make decisions based on real data.

Cons

One area that still needs work is the development alignment between its owned products along with a clearer overall vision for the full product ecosystem.
