“Powerful data insights”

Pros

Having this much information readily available makes a big difference. It's simple to dig into parts or specific situations, analyze what's there and make better-informed decisions about how to handle the data.

Cons

The interface doesn't seem as clear or user friendly as the classic screens. Getting everything set up at the beginning was also challenging since our data and workflows are very complex and highly specialized.

“Flexible setup for manufacturing”

Pros

Running our manufacturing plants with this has worked out well especially because of how customizable and user friendly it is. It handles our schedules, quotes and orders effectively and it's easy to start using right away without much hassle. When we need something more tailored, the customization options are there and the initial setup was simple too.

Cons

One area that could be better is data access. It would be much more useful if a built-in data lake or data warehouse came with the system instead of having to rely on it as an add-on.

“Useful record system but fragmented”

Pros

It works well as my system of record and helps speed up our processes.

Cons

There are too many separate tools that require extra purchases which is frustrating. Also it seems overly customizable to the point of being overwhelming and the initial setup was tough because of the complications from multiple acquisitions.

“Better interface, flexible modules”

Pros

The interface is much better than it used to which makes the system more user friendly while still providing most of the functionality Right out of the box. It's also helpful that modules can be purchased or added as needed so the software can be adapted to fit the specific needs of the business.

Cons

Inventory management can still be challenging especially since we have different processes across newer product lines. Adding PCID support or offering more standardized workflows would make this area work better.

“provide excellent visibility”

Pros

After two years on this ERP our team has seen a big improvement in how efficiently we work and we now have visibility into the business that we simply didn't have before. One of the biggest advantages is how customizable it is for the end-user experience. It also works well for a wide range of users, from people who are very comfortable with computers to those who are just getting started with these kinds of systems. The implementation went very well too, largely because the consultants were excellent and helped us get everything in place on schedule and under budget. I have had a positive opinion of the company for more than ten years, across two different organizations and I'd absolutely rate my likelihood to recommend it as 10 out of 10.

Cons

I would still like to see improved is more consistency in the naming conventions used for modules and field names.

“scheduling win for us”

Pros

The biggest advantage has been the visibility into our data especially when it comes to inventory levels and financials. Scheduling was one of the main reasons we moved over from AIMS and it has done a good job of solving issues we were having with inventory control and job processing in our manufacturing operation.

Cons

One area that still needs improvement is the guidance around minimums and maximums since it is not as clear as I expected. I would really benefit from a more detailed explanation of how mins and maxes work and the right way to set them up. The initial setup was also challenging, mainly because this was our first time going through an implementation.

“amazing scheduling, planning tool”

Pros

It's something I rely on every day for regular operations and ongoing tasks. The system gives us important information that helps guide decisions about how we run the business. The scheduling tools have been especially valuable since I oversee the Planning and Scheduling teams and they help us set clear direction on what operations should be working on and when.

Cons

The thing I'd like to see is stricter system enforcement so certain situations that shouldn't happen are blocked from happening at all. The initial setup was also challenging although it definitely paid off in the long run.

“Powerful dashboards!”

Pros

The controllability, customization options, BPMS and dashboards are the parts I value most because they make it possible to create a more personalized experience for each user.

Cons

Understanding how the system arrives at certain outcomes such as purchase suggestions or jobs generated during MRP is a challenge. At times the logic seems reasonable but other times it's hard to tell why those decisions were made. The initial setup also took quite a bit of time.

“Modern browser-based upgrade”

Pros

Compared with older versions the interface seems much more modern. The initial basic setup was easy which was a big relief. I also really like that it runs in the browser since that makes supporting multiple device types much more manageable for my team.

Cons

Upgrading from classic and custom screens still needs better options. Moving older screens into the new interface has been difficult and there should be simpler ways to test existing workflows in the new UI. Migrating customizations was also not easy.

“simple to setup”

Pros

Epicor Kinetic is the ERP platform we rely on for handling inventory, sales and operations and it does that job well. The interface is one of the things I like most because it looks amazing and far more modern than the older version we were using before. Getting everything set up at the beginning was also very easy.

Cons

One area that could use some improvement is the learning center since it would be better if it were more user friendly.

“Flexible, scalable platform”

Pros

Using it is pretty easy and the platform's flexibility really stands out. It also has plenty of room to grow and expand as needs change.

Cons

The forecasting features could still be improved.

“Built for manufacturers”

Pros

It's an ERP made for the manufacturing world, with features and workflows that are clearly designed specifically for manufacturers.

Cons

I noticed that its cloud version still needs to handle network printing better.

“Powerful modules, strong workflows”

Pros

The interface is well put together and the range of modules available in it has been a big plus. The MES system and product configurator are especially useful because they make it much easier to map out the entire production process. The overall process is amazing and the depth of the modules was actually one of the key reasons we decided to move from Acumatica to this system.

Cons

One thing I noticed is that the quote module does not include a shipment quote feature and that is something we really need. Without a quote in place, that part does not work for us. The initial setup was also somewhat difficult at the beginning.

“strong manufacturing detail”

Pros

Our team benefits from the clean, data-focused modules and the manufacturing centered design is especially useful. It gives us access to plenty of important detail on each page without feeling overwhelming since sections can be collapsed when needed.

Cons

The order entry view isn't always the most user friendly so that part can take a bit more effort to work through.

“Fast cloud tools for warehouse work”

Pros

Using it day to day has been really positive especially because the system is easy to work with and the cloud performance is quick. Also I value how the EKW and Biscit handhelds handle real time receiving, picking and shipping in our warehouse so effectively.

Cons

One thing that could be better is linking non-make-direct sales orders to a job.

“Excellent fit for legacy ERP users”

Pros

It's a strong upgrade for companies still relying on older ERP systems and it feels like a much better product for that kind of environment.

Cons

I noticed that new features take a while to roll out for government cloud clients.

“Powerful planning for production”

Pros

Using it for MRP planning in production has been especially valuable. It gives us the flexibility to schedule work on the production floor in a way that keeps up with customer demand. The demand planning tools also help make sure we build and ship products on time against customer orders. There is definitely a steep learning curve but the built-in help features do a good job of making that easier to manage.

Cons

There is definitely a steep learning curve with it although the available help features do help offset that challenge.

“has helpful tools”

Pros

Navigating the software is very user friendly which keeps day to day work moving efficiently. The built-in Help tools get used by nearly everyone on our team and they've definitely improved both user knowledge and overall productivity. Being able to export data quickly is also a big advantage when we need to dig deeper into analysis.

Cons

One frustration is having to wait for all records to load on landing pages or needing to manually load them in some cases. During the initial implementation planning, it was also difficult to tell which module was actually the right fit for our needs when defining the SOW.

“Powerful customization options”

Pros

There's a lot you can do with the customization options and it feels like almost anything is possible.

Cons

Because it's so flexible, getting it set up exactly the way you want takes time and effort. It can also be confusing figuring out which module you actually need sometimes.
