Pros

One feature that really helps is the explorer view since it lets me quickly see everything from the quote all the way through the order, shipment and invoice. It makes tracking the full quote to cash process much simpler and keeps the information I need in one place. Overall it's a very strong product.

Cons

At the same time there are quite a few glitches that still haven't been addressed. A clear example is the undo button which has never actually worked for us. The system was also fairly complex to get through and we ended up bringing in a consultant to help.

Pros

The BOM functionality in Epicor Kinetic has been really strong for us. As a manufacturer with different production methods, I value how flexible the system is. Being able to customize the UI and create business rules with BPMs also makes it much more practical and effective for day to day use.

Cons

It has changed quite a bit in recent years including retiring the Classic UI and planning to phase out on-premise deployments by 2028 in favor of cloud only. That creates migration hurdles for current customers. I'd honestly prefer if they reconsidered the cloud-only direction since some of us still want to stay on-premise. The initial setup also takes a lot of training so it's best to work with experienced consultants or its technical team.

It's been really helpful that we can use only the services that actually fit our needs instead of paying for extra add-ons that don't provide any value for us.

Getting started was challenging because the learning curve was pretty steep. It took quite a bit of time to figure out how to use�the platform�properly and the instructions weren't very accessible.

From the production standpoint, this software has been really capable. Since we run a manufacturing company, it handles the process well from entering a sales order all the way through invoicing customers.

There are a lot of extra modules to purchase so the overall cost can climb pretty quickly. The BAQ report builder is also overly complex and�the system�occasionally freezes when working in the AP applications.

It's user friendly and I was genuinely surprised by how quickly it was to learn and move around in. The customization options are another big plus as we have been able to tailor everything from the startup screen to the deeper internal workings of the system. Access is also very convenient, whether working in the office or remotely. On top of that it handles both large-scale project management and high-volume manufacturing very well.

Cons

One challenge is that some features work quite differently between the classic version and the newer�cloud-based version. Because of that, there's a bit of a learning curve when switching from one version to the other.

To me the reliability is a big plus and the supply chain tools along with the inventory features have been very strong.

I find its structure is fairly complex so getting the most out of the system takes time and effort.

One downside is that certain information can still be hard to track down in some situations and moving between multiple company divisions is no longer as convenient as it used to be.

I find it easy to use even for someone new to it. Also it comes with a wide range of tools and modules in the same product family that can be added as needed.

One downside is that the browser-based version doesn't provide an offline or hybrid mode which becomes a problem during internet outages.

We're on-prem and originally started on the client version but now there's a push toward the web browser while our trainers and consultants still prefer using the classic client.

The way the landing pages are organized works really well. Most of the modules are built with low-code or no-code options which is a big plus. I am also really excited that the software includes a collaborative component with IT Collab.

Having the entire order process visible with a single click is really useful. I can follow everything from the quote stage all the way through to payment along with anything else connected to the order.
