Plus & Minus Software

Plus & Minus software features a single file to store transactions and maintains relationships between records. Its flat-file database structure does not require a separate search index. The system stores transaction data in a standardized format consisting of Gen, Sub, Invoice, Reference, Date, Journal, Amount, and Description.

Plus & Minus provides real-time reporting and reporting/analytics tools for analyzing financial data. Users can analyze historical financial data to project future cash flow and develop budgets. The system supports the setup and automation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, along with Query/Pivot reports. It also includes 1,000+ out-of-the-box reports.

Plus & Minus uses a "hard link" to store and retrieve PDF files within the system. Documents can be stored and accessed through the software and retrieved based on specific record criteria. Users can locate documents by date, vendor, customer, employee, fixed asset, amount, account, intro person, and intro date. The feature supports document retrieval alongside related financial and operational records.

With Plus & Minus, users can create sales or purchase invoices in one company and record the related expenses in other companies. Each subsidiary’s general chart of accounts must be a subset of the host company’s chart of accounts. The system supports unlimited companies. Reports can be printed for up to 12 companies per page and exported to Excel.

Plus & Minus manages payroll calculations for employees across the 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It supports regular, overtime, double-time, salaried, commission, tip, and non-taxable reimbursement pay types. Payroll can also include deductions such as child support, 401(k)/403(b), and Section 125 cafeteria plans. The system handles federal, state, local, and district taxes, along with bonus tax calculations. It also supports union payroll, certified payroll, prevailing wage calculations, direct and indirect distributions, burden rates, and 32 union method formulas

The general ledger provides tools to test clearing accounts for zero balances and identify unusual entries, such as debit entries in revenue accounts or credit entries in expense accounts. The chart of accounts provides a summary of activity by journal and month for review and control procedures. Plus & Minus offers nine industry-specific charts of accounts and allows customizations.

The Accounts Receivable module allows businesses to track sales and incoming payments. It provides information on outstanding invoices and payment statuses, allowing users to monitor amounts due from customers and related receivable transactions.

Plus & Minus' Accounts Payable module enables organizations to manage vendor payments and invoices. It provides information on outstanding payables and payment activity, allowing users to track amounts owed to vendors and related accounts payable transactions.
