All-in-one for plumbers

Pros

Everything our plumbing and heating business needs is in one system. It handles invoicing, emails, estimates and certificates which keeps a lot of our day-to-day work together in one place.

Cons

The extra charges for additional data and storage can add up. Also, on the smaller package, communication is limited to email which isn't ideal when something urgent comes up.

Outstanding diary system

Pros

The diary system in this software is honestly hard to beat. From scheduling appointments to attending visits and finishing off job reports, I haven't seen another platform on the market that covers everything we need this well.

Cons

a phone integration module would make it better.

Superb Xero integration

Pros

Overall it's a really solid package. The Xero integration makes bookkeeping much simpler, the email support is fast and the system is user-friendly.

Cons

We haven't run into any issues on our side and we've recently upgraded our package.

Worth it for our team

Pros

After about a year with Commusoft, I can say choosing it was the right call. We looked at a few other systems and even talked to other companies already using it before deciding and I'm really pleased we went ahead with this one.

Cons

It definitely isn't perfect but I'd still rate it at least 4 stars because I honestly can't imagine how we'd manage without it now. The only thing I don't really understand is why telephone support isn't available although to be fair, the email support has been very good.

Huge time saver

Pros

This system has saved me hours of work and is very simple to use. The setup team was incredibly helpful and tailored the system so it does everything we need. Email support is also very fast whenever we have questions. I'd definitely recommend it.

Cons

Our workflow uses plot numbers, addresses and legal completion dates and there aren't specific built-in options for that. Even so, it hasn't really been an issue because the setup team showed me how to work around it.

Vital for daily operations

Pros

It has become a key part of our business. It lets the engineers out on the road upload photos, record payments and add notes and the office team can see all of that straight away.

Cons

All jobs tracked perfectly

Pros

Every job gets sent straight to our electricians so paperwork no longer goes missing. Having photos attached to all jobs is really useful and the system is very simple to use.

Cons

There honestly are not many downsides for me. The only issues I have noticed are that if more than one person has the same name and you have a large list of contacts, you cannot fully see the second name when assigning jobs. Also, there is no way to bulk delete notifications so if too many build up, you cannot clear them out using that option.

Massive boost for our team

Pros

It has made a huge difference to how our business runs. Our engineers stay well organized and always know what's on their schedule. They can log job details and photos on the spot which really helps the office team with invoicing ordering parts and planning future work. The entire workflow, from the first customer phone call through to sending invoices, has become much more simple.

Turned our operations paperless

Pros

Since bringing it into the business in 2011, both the desktop and mobile platforms have given us the flexibility to adapt the software around how we work. We can customise data and KPI reports to match our requirements and keep them set up in a way that suits the business. Before Commusoft, we were juggling paper documents along with separate accounting and certification packages just to keep everything running. Since then, the system has made the operation almost completely paperless, with clear visibility for everyone involved. Job management for employees and subcontractors is much more simple, starting from the first customer enquiry right through to completion of the work and live invoicing while engineers are still on site. The built-in customer service reminders are another real advantage, along with instant access to customer information, appliance records, work history and photo images. That saves a lot of time because engineers and office staff can work from the same live updates. We also benefit from live engineer tracking while they are on the way to customers' homes and customers can see this on their smartphones once the engineer accepts the job. That works well for everyone, as customers are not left waiting around unnecessarily, engineers are less likely to be delayed getting access and it adds a safeguarding benefit by showing the engineer's name, photo ID and industry certification details before arrival. Regular uploads of live site images are also very useful when it comes to resolving any potential disputes or discrepancies.

Cons

I really haven't run into any issues that weren't dealt with quickly by the Commusoft support team through their live assistance service.
