Impressive support and functionality

Pros

Its so easy to manage. It's functional, easy to use and the support has been fantastic whenever we've needed help.

Awesome automation tools

Pros

Right away, the automated tools in the system have made a big difference especially service reminders and feedback notifications that keep both customers and engineers updated about bookings. Being able to create and brand templates has helped us work more efficiently, cut down on errors and present a much more professional image. The reporting and costing features are also behd useful, saving time and resources while helping us put more focus on growing and managing the business effectively.

Cons

One thing that would make it better is having the option to preview emails, such as service reminders, before they go out. We've also suggested a few other enhancements that would improve functionality and it's good to know those have been acknowledged and are being considered for future updates.

Packed with features

Pros

There's a lot built into Commusoft but it's organized in a simple way that makes it simple to navigate, even for people who aren't very confident with IT. Our engineers have had no issues using it and actually prefer this side of the software over the previous system because it feels much more user-friendly.

Cons

No real complaints at this stage. If anything, an integrated payment system would be a nice addition.

Valuable Training calls

Pros

It has a lot built into it that helps make running of the business much more efficient. The training calls were really valuable and every session helped me understand more about what the software could do and how we could use it better as a company. The support team was incredibly helpful on every call, giving us plenty of guidance and even helping us assess the system so we could improve the way it worked for our business. I'd absolutely recommend both the training calls and the system itself.

Cons

Because the system includes so much, it can be hard to get your head around everything at first which is exactly why the training calls are so important.

keeps customer details and field job management together

Pros

Having everything in one place is a big plus with this system. It keeps all customer details and field job management together, from the first enquiry and estimate through to booking the work and sending the invoice. There's a really good link between what the engineers are doing on site and what the office can see so everyone knows what has been completed and when invoicing needs to happen. From the customer side, the process feels just as connected, with the option to approve estimates online and sign off completed work while the engineer is still in their home.

Cons

That said even though it is clearly designed as a job management platform rather than a full accounting package, it would be much better if it offered stronger integration with the main accountancy software options. At the moment, having to enter the same information into both systems creates extra admin and duplicate work.

New layout that just clicks

Pros

The updated layout makes a big difference because everything is much simpler to locate and use. The refreshed job estimate layout is probably my favorite part since it looks really polished for customers and is also very simple for me to work with.

Cons

Nothing has really stood out as a downside yet. There are still a few parts I am not fully confident using but I am sure that with a bit more time and patience, I will get comfortable with them.

Exceeded my expectations

Pros

After six years of using it, I can honestly say this latest version is even more capable than I expected. It's an excellent bit of software that has made every part of running my business much simpler. The updated interface on both desktop and mobile is a big improvement and one of the biggest strengths is how flexible it is to adapt around the way your own business works. The reporting side is especially useful because you can pull the data you need, customise the reports and save them for future use as your own templates. Looking back, it's hard to believe I used to manage everything with separate spreadsheets, documents, accounting tools and certification packages when Commusoft now handles it all in one place. Job management for both me and my employees is simple from the first enquiry right through to completion and invoicing. It's also brilliant for looking after existing customers with service reminders and having customer details, appliance information and full work history instantly available saves a lot of time while also giving customers a more personal experience. There's plenty more I could say but one feature in this new version that will really help me is dealing with the previously tedious task of contacting tenants for access which is now much simpler in Commusoft.

Cons

Honestly I don't have any negatives to mention. If anything, I'd just carry on listing more positives. I'm planning to add the vehicle tracking feature so customers can see where we are in relation to their property which gives them the freedom to pop out briefly without worrying about missing us. For my business it's partly a customer service and PR benefit but it will also be really useful for fitting in emergency jobs for engineers already working nearby. In that sense, it feels like another way of bringing the industry more up to date. Overall Commusoft feels indispensable to me now and I genuinely can't imagine running my plumbing and heating business without it.

No need to be tech-savvy

Pros

It comes with a lot of really useful new features. The widgets make everything much quicker to locate and the Company and Software settings are laid out in a very clear way so using them feels simple. The Help section also gives guidance for pretty much any issue that comes up. Overall it feels very transparent and simple to move around in, even for someone who isn't particularly tech savvy.

Cons

One thing that was frustrating was losing the option to merge customers and change customer types. That said there are other ways to work around it which does help reduce the impact.

Pros

Getting started with it has been very simple and whenever questions come up, the response is quick. The team is consistently helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely friendly which makes the whole experience even better.

Cons

Uncomplicated system

Pros

Its quite easy to use. It covers most of what I need and while it stays uncomplicated, it still does the job really well.

Cons

Comes with plenty of features

Pros

There are plenty of useful features that help run the whole business from one place, including integration with accounting software to keep the workflow connected.

Cons

A few processes feel more complicated than they need to be and version 4 also removed staff holiday management which was available in earlier versions.

Excellent for booking jobs

Pros

Commusoft has been excellent for booking jobs and keeping track of everything clearly. It works really well with our accounting software which means we can raise invoices directly from the platform without extra hassle. It's also fantastic for engineers out on the road since they can complete job reports and certificates on their phones or tablets. The vehicle tracking feature is another part we really appreciate.

Cons

the software seems better suited to reactive work and ongoing maintenance and it doesn't handle project tracking quite as effectively.

Scales with our business

Pros

It's been really practical for day-to-day use and one of the biggest benefits is how well it supports us as the business grows. The system is simple to use and has made scaling much more manageable.

Cons

There was a bit of a learning curve for the engineers at the beginning and the original version of the app felt quite slow. That said it has improved a lot and performs much better now.

Boiler location details are invaluable

Pros

Having our engineers record where the boiler, gas meter and stopcock are located has been incredibly useful for us. We do a lot of repeat work for estate agents and quite often the tenants are not at home so having that information already on file saves a lot of time. It really helps the next engineer especially if they were not the person who attended the property the year before.

Cons

when an engineer marks a job as complete even though it has actually been scheduled across consecutive days. When that happens, you can't just add another event to the same job and instead have to create a completely new job. It's really more of a user mistake, where the engineer has misunderstood the question and only meant that the work for that day was finished. It would be much better if there were a way to undo that action without needing to start a new job.

Helpful reps and clear guidance

Pros

From the start, the reps were really helpful and took the time to answer every question thoroughly. We never felt rushed or pressured and they gave us plenty of space to learn at our own pace. I'd definitely recommend it.

Cons

There was a small learning curve at the beginning because of the number of tabs and pages but that was expected. Aside from that, there really haven't been any actual issues.

Perfect fit for field teams

Pros

It works really well with our current accounting package which has made things a lot more practical for us. The inclusion of GasSafe certificates and simple diary management is also a big plus and helps keep daily jobs organized.

Cons

The app feels more suited to field use than admin work and the web version still isn't usable on a tablet which is limiting.

Minimal learning curve

Pros

the system is simple to use overall. It doesn't take much training to get staff up and running which makes onboarding much quicker and less of a hassle.

Cons

There are a few limitations when it comes to adaptability so it hasn't matched everything we needed perfectly. That said the support and development teams are very open to feedback and they've already made changes based on the suggestions we've shared.

Gives a complete view

Pros

Having the diary connected directly to job booking, logging and location recording is a real advantage for our business. At a quick glance, we can see which engineers are running into issues, who is on the way to appointments and who has already finished their jobs.

Cons

One thing that's missing is the ability to merge duplicate entries, whether that's customer records or duplicate jobs. Human error is always going to happen with any system so being able to merge or at least hide duplicate customer records would help prevent confusion and conflicting information later on.
