Fast and effective support

Pros

After getting familiar with it, the system becomes very simple to use. It has consistently been reliable, the move from V3 to V4 went very smoothly and the customer support team is always fast and efficient when help is needed.

Cons

Invoices can't be edited once they've been sent and addresses also can't be changed.

Amazing search function

Pros

Using it has been very simple. It's simple to work with, quick to edit and update and the search function is excellent because there are several different ways to find what you need. The diary management is laid out really well too and having the app available while out and about is a very useful extra.

Cons

Honestly I can't point to anything I dislike. It does exactly what I need it to do and feels completely fit for purpose.

Works well with Sage

Pros

Getting around the entire software feels very simple and it's genuinely user-friendly. I hardly ever need to get in touch with Commusoft's helpline. It also works extremely well with Sage Accounts. When we were first told our company would be moving to Commusoft, my colleague and I were a bit nervous about having to learn a new system in the middle of a very busy office but those concerns quickly disappeared and we became almost experts before long.

Cons

There really aren't many downsides that come to mind. If a glitch does happen, Commusoft's helpline is always there to help. I'm honestly struggling to think of any negatives so I'd say none.

Useful customer database

Pros

The tracking system, service history and customer database have all been really useful. Everything is organized well and helps keep customer information easy to follow.

Cons

Nothing to complain about at this point. Everything has been positive so far.

Promising start with commusoft

Pros

I've only just finished the training so it's still very early days and I haven't gone live on the system yet.

Cons

At this point, nothing obvious has come up since I haven't properly started using the system yet but it does seem promising from what I've seen so far.

Helpful calendar view

Pros

The calendar view is really useful because it gives us a clear picture of where all our engineers are at a glance.

Cons

One thing that would really help is the option to book 15-minute slots. A lot of our jobs are local so being able to leave a 15-minute gap would make scheduling much more practical for us.

Complete solution

Pros

From customer records and appointments to invoicing and service reminders, it covers the whole workflow. Each part can be kept very simple or made as detailed as needed which makes the system really flexible to use.

Cons

The adjustment to new layouts and features takes a bit of time and trying to fix older data entry mistakes can feel more long-winded than it should.

Engineer-friendly job tracking

Pros

Commusoft feels very engineer friendly. It's really helpful to track jobs easily and being able to add diary events to the same job instead of setting up a new one each time makes managing work much more practical.

Cons

A few parts still feel a bit limited when it comes to flexibility. Things like merging customers don't seem to be possible and once a job status has changed, amending that job in the diary can be difficult.

Pros

Easy to integrate with the accounting software and the overall interface is clean, simple and pretty self-explanatory.

Cons

When something goes wrong with the accounting software integration, fixing it usually takes someone with enough experience to sort it out properly.

Solid reporting

Pros

The platform is simple to work with and the diary management features are especially helpful. Reporting is also well done and gives us the information we need.

Cons

A few basic functions can be harder to find than they should be and when system issues are reported, it can take a while for faults to be acknowledged.

Simple to get the hang of

Pros

When the system supports a task, it's usually very simple to figure out how to do it. Booking jobs straight to customer accounts from the diary is really useful, being able to create draft invoices helps a lot and formatting letter or email templates is simple as well.

Cons

Some workflows take far too many clicks to finish. Deleting a note in the diary is a good example, you have to open the viewing panel, click edit, click delete and then confirm with yes. In the previous version, you could just hit the "x."

boosts efficiency

Pros

Once you've had the training, the system feels very user-friendly and I can already see how much of a difference it will make to the way we complete jobs accurately, efficiently and with the right level of detail for future work. The training from one of the customer support team was genuinely inspiring, working with someone so efficient, helpful and knowledgeable in her area really stood out and it's even pushed me to be sharper in my own business. Having every part of the business available at the touch of a button is probably the biggest improvement we've had in the ten years we've been operating. It's also a huge advantage that it links with Sage so easily.

Cons

Honestly there's nothing about this software that I dislike, it's fantastic.

Better design, tougher navigation

Pros

The features and overall design feel much improved compared with v3.

Cons

It's still a bit early to judge because I'm getting used to it but I'm finding it hard at times to navigate to exactly where I need to go and see the specific information I want. That said it may mostly come down to needing more time with it.

Helped our company grow

Pros

This system has been one of the reasons our company grew by 18% in the first quarter of 2018/2019. The way it keeps communication flowing between the office and the field team has been fantastic.

Cons

Broad range of features

Pros

Pretty much everything has been impressive, the platform is very user-friendly, packed with lots of functionality and the certificates can be created and sent to our clients without any hassle. The reporting keeps getting better as well which has been really nice to see.

Cons

The only downside is that it took us longer than it should have to fully realize just how capable it is and to understand all the different things it can do. There's still a lot more for us to learn and put into practice so we can make the business run as efficiently as possible.

Automatic reminders that pay off

Pros

Right from the start it has been very simple to use. The automatic service reminders are fantastic because they generate follow-up work on their own so the system basically helps pay for itself. On top of that, the support team has been excellent whenever needed.

Cons

Honestly there is nothing about the software that I dislike. If anything, I just wish my competitors weren't using it too.

Excellent training and solid tracking

Pros

Keeping track of customers and employees is very manageable and it also helps me stay on top of invoices and reminders. The training I received was excellent as well.

Cons

after I made a stupid mistake, there was no way to undo it. Since it happened outside working hours, there was also no backup support available to help.
