Responsive support and powerful automation

Pros

Right from the start the support team has been incredibly responsive whenever I've needed help. Their replies come quickly and they usually provide real solutions instead of generic answers. They've also been very open and attentive when it comes to feedback and improvement ideas. The software itself is user-friendly and genuinely useful, both for technicians out in the field and for staff handling things in the office. The number of automated features available helps techs stay on top of their jobs while giving owners better control over sales which really makes it an essential tool for any small business.

Cons

Honestly I can't point to a single part of HouseCall Pro's team or software that I dislike. There are a few extra features I'd still love to see added but I haven't felt let down at all. Anything I've requested has either been implemented within a reasonable timeframe or is already being worked on.

interface feels natural

Pros

The interface is simple to understand and very user-friendly. It connects with QuickBooks smoothly and having access while I'm out in the field helps me stay updated on everything at all times. One of the biggest benefits is that they keep rolling out new features and it really feels like they pay attention to user feedback and listen to what customers are saying.

Cons

At the beginning, I wasn't completely sure which package was the right fit for my needs. I probably should have asked more questions before signing up but after a couple of months our business expanded and I ended up needing to switch packages anyway.

Big time saver for scheduling

Pros

This has been a huge time saver for us. I don't have to enter customers into a separate database anymore which cuts out a lot of extra work. It also automatically sends appointment reminders and thank-you messages by text and email and the credit card processing rates are low.

Cons

Every now and then the app has glitches for our techs when they're out in the field using their iPhones. There are times when they can't upload job photos or update the line items.

Wonderful email marketing

Pros

The postcard and email marketing have been a huge plus. Every transaction gives my customer at least seven impressions of my business logo which is fantastic for staying visible. The platform is also very simple to use which makes everything even better.

Cons

Honestly there is very little to complain about. In the beginning, I ran into some issues with the QuickBooks integration but their customer service was outstanding and went above and beyond to resolve every problem for me.

Useful GPs feature

Pros

Keeping our schedule organized has been much more manageable with this software. The GPS location features are really useful, it sends information to QuickBooks automatically and being able to automate postcards or follow-up emails to clients after completed jobs is a big plus.

Cons

One thing I'd still like to see is more of the desktop version's functionality included in the app especially access to invoice numbers and the option to create new service items.

Real-time mobile payments

Pros

it's a real app instead of something that just logs into a website like a lot of other systems. That makes a big difference for our team especially since all of our techs can take credit card payments on the spot for post collections as they happen in real time.

Cons

The only thing Houscall Pro still needs is better reporting. Once that's added, it would easily be the best service software in my opinion for scheduling, invoicing and marketing. Aside from that, it already handles everything else we need.

They know their stuff

Pros

Houscall Pro comes with a lot of useful features that can really benefit a small business and the customer support team is knowledgeable, responds quickly and handles things very professionally.

Cons

Even though the software offers plenty of strong features some of them are missing important functions which can make them feel more frustrating than helpful at times. The reporting tools could also be more powerful.

Getting better every year

Pros

After using ServiceMonster for about ten years, I was used to seeing very little improvement and even the updates they rolled out, like Google Calendar sync, didn't really help my business. Housecall Pro was different from the start. It's an app-based platform that began with fewer features but they promised it would keep evolving and they've absolutely followed through on that. It just keeps getting better and better. Their customer support has been excellent as well. Even the employees on my team who aren't very comfortable with technology have been able to learn it without much trouble. The navigation is helpful, the notifications work well and the credit card processing is not only the most affordable I've seen but also one of the best.

Cons

The banking and QuickBooks sync still needs improvement although I'm confident that will be addressed soon based on what customer support has told me.

Complete customer list on phone

Pros

Having my full schedule and complete customer list available right on my phone is something I really appreciate.

Cons

There's honestly very little to complain about and whenever something comes up, customer service is always available to help fix it.

Tech support stands out

Pros

Right from the start the tech support has been the best part of this product. They really go above and beyond to make sure the system works the way you need it to. The mobile app stands out the most for me and features like scheduling and invoicing are also very simple to use. Overall it has ended up saving us a lot of money.

Cons

Honestly there's barely anything to complain about. They keep improving the app all the time so if something does come up that you don't love, it usually gets updated and fixed pretty quickly. Reaching out to tech support is the fastest way to handle any issue and they make the whole process so quick and effortless that it hardly feels like a real downside.

Great price for excellent features

Pros

Running our cleaning company is much simpler with this tool. It keeps our schedule organized, feels simple to use and the customer service has been incredibly responsive. On top of that, the pricing is excellent. I'd absolutely recommend it.

Cons

I don't have any complaints. Being cloud-based is one of the biggest advantages because we can access it from anywhere. The support team is outstanding, the interface feels user-friendly and polished and scheduling or rescheduling jobs is very organized. The stats and tags also make it much easier to track customers and sales. On top of that, the way it's built makes communicating with customers feel quick and effortless.
