fantastic client follow-up tools

Pros

It is simple to work with. The customer service has also been top-notch and the client follow-up features have been especially helpful.

Cons

I'd still like to see the online booking feature following up with people who start the process but don't actually schedule.

Customer communication made simple

Pros

Using it feels very simple and staying in touch with my customers is really convenient.

Cons

I pay my employees based on a percentage of each job and there still isn't a simple way to pull a report or track that in a sheet.

solid product with some glitches

Pros

Overall it's a really good product and I'd definitely recommend it to other people, including family and friends.

Cons

There are still a few glitches that need to be fixed but even with that, I'm managing fine with it.

Comprehensive business organizer

Pros

Being able to keep my business and clients organized in one app, along with handling invoicing, has been really helpful.

Cons

I honestly haven't come across anything I dislike yet but I'm still new to it so time will tell.

Lovely "on my way" texting feature

Pros

Ability to get booked directly through my own website has been a big plus. The "on my way" texting feature is really helpful and accepting credit cards makes the whole process even better.

Cons

No downsides at all. Their invoicing works very well and the customer service has been excellent too.

scheduling feature that really delivers

Pros

The scheduling feature has been fantastic. It lets you view what your whole team is doing throughout the entire week and it also makes it clear which jobs still need to be added to the schedule.

Cons

One thing I'd really like to see is an option to add a property and mark it as multi-family right away. We handle a lot of those and right now we have to manually enter and check each unit.

Terrible support and unusable setup

Pros

Honestly there wasn't anything positive to point to. The product didn't fit what we needed, we couldn't use it and it never even got implemented.

Cons

Dealing with the company's customer service was extremely frustrating. Phone calls and emails went unanswered and when we did reach out, nothing was ever properly resolved.

fantastic team coordination tools

Pros

Managing estimates, projects and team communication with Housecall Pro feels much more organized because everything is kept simple to use. It also lets you send clients real-time messages when you're on the way to an estimate or job which has been a huge help. That feature by itself has saved our office staff a lot of time.

Cons

Even though it has a modern-looking design, the viewing screens can occasionally glitch depending on which browser you're using. Customer support is generally helpful but there are times when they don't seem to be aware of a specific issue. Another thing I'm not a fan of is how projects and events are displayed. When there's more than one project scheduled on the same day, they can end up blending together and looking mashed into one.

Amazingly complete communication hub

Pros

Across the whole team, everyone can stay in touch, share photos and documents, add notes, correct wrong information, pull up maps and reach customers by text or phone. Customers can also pay online, contact us directly and receive alerts when we're on the way. It really feels like a very complete system.

Cons

The thing missing on the back end is the ability to separate clients into groups based on whether they want emails or mailed communication. That would be an extremely helpful feature to have.

Cool mobile app

Pros

The platform is very user-friendly and simple to use and I really appreciate having a mobile version available.

Cons

At times, the connection feels a bit slow although I'm not completely sure whether that comes from the app or my mobile internet.

Billing finally under control

Pros

Running a business that handles mostly smaller maintenance jobs means a lot of activity every month and before we started using Housecall Pro, that created some real problems for us. We didn't realize it at first but a number of jobs were never getting billed. They were just slipping through the cracks and nobody noticed for months. Since switching over, the invoicing system has completely fixed that issue and put an end to missed billing.

Cons

The site is a bit heavy so it can take a minute to load sometimes, though it's not overly long. It's still workable.

Pros

Its easy to use and the newer credit card payment processing is noticeably faster. The advance notification alerts sent to customers are also a really helpful feature.

Cons

the ability to use inventory items in a way that automatically decrements stock is missing.

tailored to modern service businesses

Pros

Everything about it feels tailored to modern service businesses. It runs as a genuinely paperless system, keeps up well with current technology and is simple to understand because the layout stays pretty basic and uncluttered. I enjoy working with it and the mobile app is a big plus. Between that and how simple it is to use, it really stands out as a strong option.

Cons

A few basic processes feel more time-consuming than they should, like having to go through questions that can take several minutes when a quick one-minute conversation would be enough. That said I do not have many complaints. Some customer field options are too limited such as not being able to include extensions or a spouse's name and there is also some confusion around billing customers for completed work.

Color-coded scheduling wins

Pros

Being able to color-code my staff organize the schedule and quickly search for clients is exactly what I loved about this system.

smooth team communication

Pros

Communication across the whole team feels instant and smooth which makes it much easier for employees to stay connected throughout the day.

Cons

the program seems to be built mainly with iPhones in mind. Since most of my employees use Android devices, they end up with more limited features.

Tools that keep us moving

Pros

Having so many tools built into one system has been a huge plus. I don't need to jump between different apps just to handle day-to-day office tasks and Housecall Pro helps me manage my moving company much more efficiently.

Cons

Team responds quickly

Pros

Incredible how fast customer support usually responds. Scheduling jobs is simple and the weekly calendar gives a clear view of everything coming up. It's also nice that customers automatically get a message when you tap that you're on the way.

Cons

At times, support replies feel like they didn't fully read the question before answering. The system can also be slow to save every now and then.
