Provides excellent value

Pros

I really appreciate that this app includes tracking features and a solid communication system. In our farming and delivery work, clear communication is essential and it lets us stay in touch with customers and stand out from competitors. It's simple to use and powerful given the price we pay. Overall, I feel it's excellent value for money.

Cons

We're unsure how to connect Optimo Route with our Wix e-commerce site. A proper integration would shave off a lot of time for our team but we haven't figured out the steps to make that happen. I'd really like to see improved help resources or a stronger support channel within Optimo Route to guide us through this.

Gives me control!

Pros

I can tweak a wide range of settings and variables and I really like that level of control.

Cons

It doesn't integrate directly with the turn-by-turn mapping app I use so when I reach a stop I'm frequently directed the wrong way and have to reorient myself to make the delivery.

saves a half-day of planning

Pros

It instantly plans sixty deliveries, saving me from spending half a day doing that myself. It performs exactly as promised and has made my drivers' lives about ten times easier. I can see where every driver is at all times and it has practically eradicated mistakes out on the road.

Cons

Honestly, I found it really simple to use. Whenever I've faced any problems, customer service has addressed them quickly and gotten things fixed without delay.

Support staff made me feel comfortable

Pros

I love having so many ways to view my routes live. The biggest reason I'm posting this review is because the support I got went way beyond what I anticipated. They walked me through everything and made helped me feel comfortable and confident using the platform to use it easily.

Cons

I've noticed routing is inefficient when I put two stores within walking distance onto two different routes on the same driver shift.

Pros

Our operations have become twice as efficient thanks to this software! Being able to monitor and review trends over time is fantastic and it's proven to be an invaluable companion for my drivers when they're out on the road.

Cons

There are a few minor usability tweaks scattered throughout that would simplify things but the team at Optimo is always pushing updates and even over the last six months I've watched it evolve into a product that suits our operations far better than before.

Requires minimal training

Pros

We've found this software extremely easy to use, requiring very little training. I was able to be fully up and running in under an hour.

Cons

That said, I noticed it doesn't account for actual traffic conditions and when I let the system plan routes my drivers end up furious.

Helpful for managing multiple territories

Pros

When managing several drivers across different territories, I find it really helpful. I can quickly pull up each account's information, jot down notes and rearrange stops exactly how I want them.

Cons

Occasionally the suggested routes end up being illogical and I find myself having to go in and manually correct the path.

Solid mobile app

Pros

Using this tool has been really simple for me, especially because I can copy customer orders and routes and upload them via Excel without any problem. I've also found the routing settings and planning options to be flexible and the interface works well both on desktop and mobile. The mobile app that comes with it feels rock-solid and simple for our technicians to operate. I rely on the live service schedule with status updates and the email notification for arrival is going to be handy for keeping customers informed.

Cons

I'd like to see more custom fields so I can show multiple services in the mobile app, it only supports five now but ten would be much better. Another gap is that the mobile app doesn't record the actual start time when a technician marks themselves On Duty at the beginning of the day which would help with accurate time tracking and might eliminate the need for a separate timekeeping service. Right now I have to log in every day to push routes to the mobile app instead of scheduling them to go out weekly. There's also no way to capture customer signatures in the app at the moment. On the reporting side, I want analytics with more detail and display options beyond basic bar charts and the ability to export all reports would be very useful.

Well laid out!

Pros

Getting going with it was really simple for me. The layout is user-friendly and everyone on my team managed to learn it and start using it very quickly. It's simplified a lot of our workflows and lets us tweak busy routes in real time. For the price, it comes with many planning/optimization options. I also appreciate that it can allocate orders based on truck capacity and each driver's qualifications. That combination has made route planning much more efficient for our operations.

Cons

There are a handful of capabilities I wish were available already. I'm hoping they'll arrive soon. For example, I haven't found any simple method to configure customer notifications, even though that feature is listed. That gap is a bit frustrating.

Solid functionality

Pros

It's really simple to use and offers solid functionality. The platform grows with our organization so scaling isn't an issue. One of the reasons we chose it was because we can tag drivers with specific "skills" which lets us divide the fleet by each driver's specialty.

Cons

The cost is my main gripe. It's pricier than most of the routing tools we evaluated yet given the feature set and the outstanding support from their team, I've found that it ends up being a worthwhile investment for our operation.

Extremely simple interface

Pros

I'm really impressed by how simple the interface is to use. It frees up a bunch of my time each week when I'm planning our delivery routes.

Cons

It would be great if the basic plan included the ability to send customers an SMS when their delivery arrives. I'd find that really useful for keeping people updated.

Helps with budgeting

Pros

I can plan the time required and find the most effective routes for handling a large number of deliveries. The app shows time and distance details that I can use for budgeting and for preparing cost quotes.

Cons

For our setup, the pricing model that forces multiple drivers to share the exact same number of deliveries is a problem. We need drivers who can handle varying, often many, drop-offs so this restriction limits how often we rely on the tool and means we only use it when absolutely necessary rather than all the time.

Generates routes quickly

Pros

Impressed by how user-friendly the platform is and how fast it generates routes. What I also appreciate is being able to plan routes for multiple vehicles simultaneously, plus the option to send or export a route directly to a driver when necessary.

Cons

When I add an address and try to copy-paste it into the name field, it keeps jumping back into the location section instead so I end up having to enter the location twice on the same line which is frustrating and wastes time.

What I like most about this software is that it actually works reliably. It does precisely what our team needs it to do and I'm really pleased with this tool.

Cons
