It is a powerful HR platform that is really useful for keeping employee information and tasks in order.

Cons

I feel like there should be better updates for both staff and admins whenever the platform gets an update so nobody is left out of the loop.

So far my experience has been solely with the web-based version of Bernie Portal.

There are some great things about this software, for example, it is very simple to add new employees and to access their individual benefit enrollment data. Terminations are likewise simple, and Bernie manages COBRA administration. You can quickly see on the employee list who has already signed up, who needs to sign up, and who needs to be onboard. Benefits enrollment for employees is simple and easy to use as well. After being informed of the fees, employees can readily make modifications before finalizing enrollment. Overall, I have been very satisfied with this software.

The reports dont offer much value, really. I am unable to access a straightforward report that would provide me information like the employees name and registration preferences, which is really important data for us. The ability to do this would be very beneficial when comparing statements from our benefits providers with actual enrollment. I wish it were possible to quickly add a part-time worker who is not qualified for benefits. There is no need for them to be "onboard" as they cannot enroll in anything. Getting an API or integration going with our payroll/HR software vendor has been pretty difficult so far.

The customer support is great, the reporting features are strong and the team really helps us get everything set up.

The system feels a bit clunky to use but I must say the reporting tools are actually quite good and to the point.

Getting everyone onboarded is a challenge because not all of our employees are comfortable using computers.

The best feature is that any updates we make in Bernie Portal automatically sync over to our payroll company and insurance carriers.

As per me a helpful feature would be the option to choose exactly what details get sent over to the payroll company, since sometimes unnecessary information is transferred.

For us, it didnt work properly. Navigation was hard and they charge extra for a few of the features which are really frustrating as the system already pretty expensive as compared to most of the software.
