“Pretty cool for managing employee lists and arrivals
Pros
Having access to the full employee lists sorted by any category I want is pretty cool. And I also like managing arrivals and departures.
Cons
Our payroll system doesn't connect with Folks yet but the issue is on our end structurally. Taxes aren't separated for expense reports forcing us to create a separate account.

“All employee requests in one system
Pros
It's handy to have all employee requests, absences, overtime, travel expenses, training, grouped in one place. I can also pull stats for projects quickly which is a huge help for planning.
Cons
I do wish a few extra details and features were added to make handling the information even simpler. For example, I'd like the ability to log hours directly in the timesheet with a brief task description (for instance 8:00-8:30: description of the task) so entries are clearer. Also Tool 2.0 tends to bug out fairly often when I try to export time statistics which interrupts my reporting process.

“Simple tool that's easy to delegate
Pros
simplicity of this tool is what I value most. I find delegating tasks to my team very easy and stress-free.
Cons
Sometimes the menu categories are confusing so I end up spending more time moving around the interface trying to find what I need.

The platform looks thorough and has a lot of useful HR content. I did experience difficulty logging into my account once which was frustrating and I wish live tech support were available for small issues.
Cons
technical support is slow and email replies take far too long to come through. Calling doesn't help either since there isn't any direct contact, they just tell you to leave a voicemail and then I never hear anything back. If they're never going to call, they shouldn't offer that option at all.

“groups employee requests and stats!
Pros
It lets me group all types of employee requests: absences, overtime, travel expenses, training, etc. It also lets me quickly get statistics on time spent on specific projects.
Cons
Certain details or features could be added to make processing information even easier. For example entering hours in the timesheet (8:00 to 8:30: task description). Folks 2.0 often glitches when I try to pull time statistics.

The aspects of Folks HR I appreciate most are that it's easy to use and therefore just as easy to delegate tasks with.
Cons

It seems very complete and clear with lots of useful HR features. I just haven't managed to log into my account yet. It's a shame there isn't a live technical service when I have a simple login problem.
Cons
Technical support is very slow, the email response time is too long and phone support is useless without direct contact..you only leave us a voicemail and we never hear back. In that case don't offer the callback option if you never call back.

“Improved usability with reliable support

Since version 2.0 launched I've been impressed by how well it centralizes all our data. I've noticed it saves time on HR tasks and the support team is always helpful, polite and responsive.
Cons
As a small team of sixteen we sometimes find that the platform's customization options are still limited, several fields and modules don't let us shape things the way we'd like. Since we are only sixteen people many aspects of the platform feel less applicable to our workflows and some features end up being less useful for our day-to-day operations.

Being able to locate employees in just a couple of clicks is amazing. I can handle everything directly through the site which makes my workflow smooth.

Setting up and rolling out the app was very easy. I found it user-friendly and learning to use it was easy with all the features working well.
Cons
I've run into a few shortcomings around reporting and how information is displayed. For instance, with long expense reports that include many line items and receipts, it would be a huge time-saver to have a single "download all" option instead of opening each row to fetch a receipt. Also vacation accruals aren't projected ahead of time so when people try to book time off they can't see how many vacation days they'll have available in the future.

Using it is really easy. After I took the time to learn how everything works, it quickly became instinctive. I don't have to follow multiple steps to reach the place I need. A simple click gets me exactly where I want to go every time.
Cons
The only drawback I found is that on first use there are so many options it can feel a bit overwhelming. I needed someone to walk me through it, once someone showed me how it works, the site became very easy to use.

I'm really impressed by how convenient it is and how fast their customer support responds. The app is easy to use and covers the vast majority of what we need.
Cons
What frustrates me is that several basic improvements, in my opinion, still haven't been implemented and they would greatly simplify information-change tasks, for example switching assignments from one employee to another without using search, or allowing us to make bulk changes to employee profiles ourselves, etc.

interface is simple and convenient and the team is fantastic, I can tell they're always looking for ways to update and improve the software.
Cons
It frustrates me a little that whenever I need to issue new login credentials to staff, I'm forced to remove the old ones before I can send the new credentials which feels unnecessarily tough.
