I feel like the user interface is easy to use for both employees and employers. The tax filing feature is really beneficial and the support for taxes is great.

Cons

I wish they could manage outside benefits for each payroll, that would make things easier.

Customer support could be stronger. If you're comfortable troubleshooting a few tech problems yourself, the overall experience is a lot better.

Really solid UX design and it feels simple for freelancers juggling work across multiple companies. The setup and day-to-day use are adaptive so managing things doesn't turn into a hassle.

No major complaints... most of the friction came from how my employer set everything up.

The layout feels really well organized and it's simple to use. Switching between tabs is simple and the pages are clear enough to understand without much effort.

If you're entering time on a time card and you accidentally click out, the information doesn't get saved so you have to re-enter it.

It feels really technology friendly and simple to use and it sends prompt, detailed email updates when there's any problem with payroll pushes. It also works as a one-stop platform for employees enrolled in health benefits... inside the app they can quickly view benefit details for each person and from the company side the dashboard is clean and simple so it's easy to see what's being paid. Adding new users is also painless, you just enter a few details from the new hire and send an invitation by email or text. I also appreciate that this helps keep employees' confidential tax information private and secure.

Cons

Honestly there's not much to complain about. We run both a clothing boutique and an ice cream parlor through one payroll account and having multiple businesses under the same system has been smooth. it has been a great fit and no downsides have shown up for us yet.

“no support and missed handover”

Pros

There wasn't really anything positive here since getting a sales rep to walk me through the platform before migrating data turned out to be impossible.

Cons

Support is basically nonexistent. The whole process feels like pure self-service-pre-sales evaluations are done on your own. When I tried asking questions to get clarity, the sales rep hung up on me.

Interface feels really simple and it's adaptive to use day to day. I also like the extra features.. the layout looks clean and the employee categorization is organized in a way that makes information quick to find.

Cons

Would be better if earnings and statistics had more flexible filtering options so you can narrow down the numbers more effectively.

Setup is simple and the reporting comes out really well compared to other payroll tools I've tried. It's also convenient to download copies of your tax filings whenever you need them.

Cons

A few parts can feel confusing for business owners especially figuring out the difference between the "owner" login/signatory versus the "employee" login.

“affordable!!”

Pros

I'm really enjoying it. As a small business owner running an S-Corp, I needed to handle payroll for contractors and also pay myself. Gusto made both parts simple and affordable so I didn't feel like I was scrambling to figure anything out. The results were exactly what I wanted, I could operate like a true professional and it felt like I effectively had my own in-house payroll team working with me through the platform.

Cons

At the moment, I haven't run into any downsides. It's matching what I expected it to do.

Love that it sends paid day reminders right through the app and also via email so nothing gets missed.

Cons

Not a fan of how consistently the app pushes ads for the wallet option.

Gusto is a fantastic HR app for employees. It makes it simple to view and manage paystubs, access employee documents and submit time-off requests. It also keeps an up-to-date count of how much paid time off you have left in your PTO bank. Also, the calendar area is really helpful for seeing key updates like out-of-office days, work anniversaries and birthdays.

Cons

A bit of a mismatch shows up between platforms, some settings you can edit and customize in the mobile app aren't available to change on the web version and other options are only adjustable on the web.

It feels genuinely user friendly for both employees and employers and it covers everything needed for HR and payroll. The workflow is simple so getting through day-to-day HR tasks doesn't become a headache.

Cons

Honestly we should've found and used this sooner.. once we implemented it, the office ran much better and improved significantly.

It is really easy to use and great for smaller companies. I like the mobile app & it's user-friendly and flexible.

I'm not happy that there isn't a dedicated service team for each department. It's not the best platform for companies with more than 10 employees.
