“fantastic for small business payroll, frustrating for multi-state

I think this is a fantastic tool for handling my small business's payroll and it comes with a lot of other useful features too.

Cons

Multi-state stuff is a pain.�If your business is in more than one state, just know it's kinda frustrating to manage.

“extremely user-friendly and self-explanatory

Pros

I picked this up very quickly and didn't need to bug an admin once. Everything just makes sense and is easy to find.

Cons

Why is it so hard to change an address?�seriously it should be simple and it's just not.

“Interactive UI but no phone help

Pros

The whole thing is really interactive. I never have to hunt for what I'm looking for.

Cons

Good luck getting help when you need it.�There's no phone number to call? For real? When something goes wrong, you're just stuck waiting for an email.

“Saves hours!

Pros

Using it saves me a huge amount of time, especially when it's time to prepare quarterly reports. I also find the customer support incredible, they're always available whenever I have questions or need help.

Cons

If I could change one thing, it would be to simplify the process for creating custom reports, since that step feels more complicated than it needs to be.

“fantastic setup, a lifesaver

Pros

setting up our payroll and benefits was so easy. I don't have an HR background but the platform walked me through everything. It does so much for us without costing a fortune. After our last HR service was a nightmare, switching over was one of the best choices we've made.

No complaints here!�This system just works. Does what it says on the tin.

“fun design but high fees

awesome how everything is laid out. It's simple to use and actually kind of fun. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the design. Logging my hours is a smooth process and I love getting a notification when my paystub is ready. The extra tools for managing my money are a really nice bonus too.

Cons

The fees are high, not gonna lie.�It definitely eATs into our profits, wish it was cheaper.

“a win overall (small frustrations)

Pros

I use this for everything: tracking my hours, checking my pay and seeing how much sick time I've built up. It's always accurate, even with holiday pay. Updating my time is simple and it fits perfectly with our company's system. Whenever I need help, support is fast and actually knows what they're doing. Setting it up was simple and I use it every single day to clock in without any issues.

Mostly love it but a couple of annoying things.�Psa: If you have multiple companies, sET UP YOUR MaIN ONE FIRsT. I set up my small one first and now I'm stuck switching to my big one every single time I log in. So annoying. Also the Outlook sync is basically useless for time-off requests. Nothing shows up on my calendar so I'm always jumping between tabs to see who's off. Would be awesome to see everything from all my companies in one dashboard.

Just seeing the sender name "Gusto" in my inbox gets me excited because I know it means payday!

It's great for my small biz!�I don't use all the fancy features but for what I need, I can't think of any big problems.

“simple but a payroll bug

Pros

Getting everything set up was very easy. Now all the federal and state reports and payments just happen automatically. I literally just spend a few minutes each month to run payroll. It's that simple.

Cons

Weird payroll bug alert!�sometimes when time off is approved, the employee still gets their normal pay for those hours too. So they get paid twice. And no one sees it coming, not the manager who approved it or our bookkeeper. It just happens out of the blue.

“a major time saver

Pros

This has saved our small business so much time. Managing payroll and tracking tax documents is way simpler now. Even I can figure it out and I'm not exactly tech-savvy. It's definitely worth the monthly fee.

Yeah, I got nothin' to complain about.�It's great.

“easy to learn, slow deposits

Pros

I researched alot of different payroll providers before choosing this one. Since I'd never done payroll before, I needed something that was easy to understand. It was surprisingly easy to learn and for our small nonprofit with about 15 people, it's been a great fit that's also affordable.

Cons

The deposit times are so slow.�Takes forever to hit my bank account, not sure why.

“great setup and awesome support

Pros

setting everything up was very easyy and their support team is awesome. They actually call you to walk you through things if you can't find the answer online.

Cons

It's just.... easy.�The support is easy to get, the website is easy to use. No headaches.

“simple with a confusing website

Pros

This makes payroll so simple to handle. The bonus features are fantastic and things like time tracking, employee surveys, performance reviews and the applicant system. We saved a lot of money after switching and made a ton of our processes way more efficient.

The website can be confusing.�I get lost in it all the time trying to find simple things.

“great interface and support but serious tax filing errors

Pros

The interface is so easy to use. And the support staff are amazing and they're super helpful and know their stuff. I hardly ever wait on hold and they fix any problem quickly.

Cons

They totally messed up my taxes.�I started getting letters from Oregon saying I owed money because THEY didn't pay. Took forever to get them to fix it and they were so slow to respond. For something as important as taxes, that's just unacceptable.

“good tool but team broke promises

Pros

The whole system is very simple to operate. Setting it up was easy and I can add a new team member in just minutes. Importing hours is easy and saves me a ton of time.

Cons

They promise a lot but don't deliver.�and when you show them their own website where they promised something, they'll straight-up deny it. Their mistakes cost me real money in fines and they refused to take any responsibility. Same thing when they messed up a filing and I had to redo everything. You're always on the hook for their errors.

“Handy app, complex reports

Pros

I love that I can log my hours anytime during the day. Requesting time off through the app is so handy, no more dealing with paper forms.

Cons

My one complain: the custom reports.�They're not easy at all. Could be way simpler to build.

Pros

There are so many different state and federal rules to keep track of in the Us. This platform makes payroll very easy and lets me handle employees in multiple states without all the usual stress.

Cons

sometimes you can't undo or edit stuff from past dates. Super annoying when you just need to fix a simple mistake.

“suitable for small teams

Pros

Whole system is just so easy to use and I had it set up in no time. Whenever I get stuck, their support team is quick to reply and they actually fix the problem! Plus I don't have to worry about payroll taxes at all and it does all the reporting and payments for me.

Cons

Honestly I haven't run into any problems. But we're a small team so I can't vouch for how it handles a bigger company.

“Lifesaver checklists and organization, slightly confusing view switching

Pros

The step-by-step checklists were a lifesaver and kept me totally on track. I also love how everything is organized because I can always find my documents super fast. I never even had to call customer support because it's all so easy to find on my own.

Cons

I sometimes get confused if I'm in the admin view or my employee view. At least it's easy to switch back and forth.

“simple but a littleeeeee difficult to use

Pros

setup was simple. I only had one little issue but I called support and they stayed on the line with me until everything was perfect.

Cons

Took me a minute to get used to it since I was always working with gross income before. Just a bit of a learning curve for me.
