“reliable reminders”

Pros

I've been really happy with how easy it is to use. Entering my hours and handling payroll feels simple, without a bunch of extra steps.

Cons

Haven't had a chance to dig into the other features in the app yet and I do wish it took fewer clicks to add more hours.

Pros

QuickBooks is pretty simple to learn and that part is genuinely less frustrating than a lot of other accounting tools. My accountant suggested I switch over and I was willing to try it.

Cons

Customer service has been a nightmare. I've been on hold and on the phone with them for over 11 hours across 15 separate calls just to get a basic payroll setup working. Every person I spoke with seemed unable to figure out the issue even after I escalated it to a supervisor. I was told multiple times that someone would call me back but I never got a return call. The actual setup is simple, the pay week runs Monday through Sunday and the pay date is two weeks later.

Pros

Everything's in one place and I'm able to manage my direct deposit settings on my own. I can also view my 1099 and related documents without having to chase anyone down. My paystubs are stored here too and I can access them whenever I need. Overall it's a very solid setup that puts control directly in my hands.

Cons

I'd prefer it if the full paystubs were even more simple to access at a glance.

Pros

Gusto lays things out in a really clear way, with solid instructions and definitions across a bunch of different hiring categories. The tax options for hiring and onboarding are also explained clearly so you're not left guessing what to pick. Also, the time tracking tool has been efficient and works smoothly for tracking hours.

Cons

Adding scheduling tools for staff would be a nice upgrade.

Pros

Hands down, It's the best payroll platform I've used. I've tried aDP, Paychex and Paycom but nothing compares. It's easy to use and their support always responds the same day. They even offer training, letters and criminal screenings right on the platform. amazing!

Cons

I don't like that you can't send a 90-day notification within It. It would be useful for probationary periods. also, I wish it had an integration with Rent manager.

They offer an all-in-one package for handling payroll and payroll-related benefits. submitting benefit claims through their portal is easy and their customer service is quick to respond. Payroll and reimbursements are always delivered on time.

Recently, they switched providers for deduction-based processes without informing employees. I tried to submit a reimbursement claim through the old portal but I wasn't told about the switch. It was frustrating and I wish It had communicated it better.

This is, hands down, one of the simplest timekeeping and time management tools I've come across. Logging time is simple and the whole setup feels very end-user friendly... everything you might want to know about payroll is easy to find. Submitting time-off requests also takes very little effort.

Cons

Nothing major stands out as something I dislike though it would be a nice improvement if the mobile app let you enter time via the keyboard instead of using a scrolling time card.

Rippling feels pretty simple to use and it bundles the key stuff in one place... payroll, employee benefits and onboarding. It also connects neatly with the other tools we already use which cuts down on manual work and lowers the chance of mistakes.

Cons

Setup can get a little tricky particularly if you're a smaller business. Also, the pricing may come in higher than expected if you mainly want the basic features.

More customization options would be a nice upgrade. It works great for the basics but you can tell it could go further for more specific preferences.

Every now and then I run into unexplained glitches and the app won't always connect so I can't call right away.

So getting an email every time I'm paid is a really nice touch. It makes it quick to confirm things without having to constantly check my account.

I do wish the paystub came through automatically with the email. Instead, I still have to log in to view it which feels a bit extra... though I get that it may be for security so I can live with it.

Pros

This is honestly the most user-friendly app I've used. I'm able to handle everything right from my phone, submitting sick time and PTO is simple. Since I'm a lead over two reps, I can also help improve their payroll which saves a ton of back-and-forth. Also, it's simple to fix timesheets and even delete shifts and in most cases all I need to do is add a quick note.

Cons

One limitation is that I can only approve timesheets through the web version, not directly in the app. It's a bit annoying but it hasn't been a dealbreaker.
