Pros

So I receive my salary through it on a monthly basis and it always hits on time. I originally considered it mainly because it looked affordable but I ultimately chose a different option. Now I really regret not sticking with it.

Cons

feels more like self-help, DIY-style software rather than something fully guided or assisted.

it makes it really clear how much I earned each month which helps me stay on top of my average income over time.

There's a small transaction fee when I transfer money from my savings through it.

It is easy to clock in and out right from my phone which is super handy. Tracking my hours is so much easier now and requesting time off through the app is really simple.

Have not run into any issues with this one yet. Pretty simple.

Having everything in one place has felt genuinely useful. Before this, I was bouncing between multiple tools and that kept HR and the managers working on-site from staying aligned.

Over time, more of the premium features keep getting locked behind higher-tier plans.

I find it very easy for all our payroll needs. The clock-in/out system works perfectly, tracking PTO is smooth and onboarding new hires couldn't be simpler. Adding employees and staying on top of all the paperwork is much more manageable now. I'd definitely recommend this to any other business owner.

Cons

setup really depends on your employer getting everything configured right, it can be a pain if they're not sure what they're doing.

Legit I can't say enough good things about this platform! Both me and my employees find it really easy to use. The interface is user-friendly and actually kind of fun (that pig mascot is awesome!). My team loves that they can easily find their pay stubs and tax forms without a hassle. For me the sync with QuickBooks is fantastic and the reporting and benefits features make everything run so smoothly.

Cons

The only small issue is when I run reports, it doesn't automatically show summary and individual totals. I always have to remember to adjust the filter myself.

It's great that there's an option to receive gifts, those surprises definitely make the day better and help keep things fun. It also feels nice to be able to share that excitement without needing approval from peers.

Cons

Something that needs work is the re-verification of my email every time I try to cash out a gift. If I'm not at work, I can't receive the code on my work email so cashing out becomes a hassle. I'd really like the option to verify accounts by text message instead so the whole cash-out process is more convenient whenever I'm ready.

My favorite part is being able to reach a real person through chat and the support has been fast and efficient whenever I've reached out.

On occasion, when a tax notice comes through, it can take some time for their team to review it and follow up.

Gusto keeps payroll and HR tasks pretty simple thanks to an adaptive interface and helpful features like automated tax filing, benefits management and direct deposit. I really appreciate how it speeds up onboarding while keeping compliance organized for the team.

Cons

That said, the pricing can feel steep for small businesses particularly once you start paying for extra features beyond basic payroll. Support can also take longer than it should during peak times so turnaround isn't as consistent as I'd expect.

Can't think of anything negative so far! Been using this with three clients and no issues that bother me.

It handles payments, benefits and even lets me set goals and reviews all in one place. I use it every single day to manage all time-off requests and the initial setup was really easy for me.

It's really simple to use and multiple employees can access it whether they're W-2 or 1099. Requesting reimbursements and uploading receipts is quick and the time clock plus adding hours feels simple. The reporting is also a big plus.

The app is missing some features compared to the web version. One specific gap is that employees can't upload receipts directly through the app which would honestly make everything a lot easier.

The onboarding experience totally blew me away. They called me right after I signed up which I thought was a brilliant touch! I've only needed support twice and both times it was super smooth and effortless. Switching from my old provider at the end of the quarter was completely painless.

Nothing negative to report from my end. It's been a smooth ride!
